He has a tail when he does one of his idle animations so maybe he has one but is able to hide it? Makes me wonder if it was inconvenient or maybe he's just shy about his tail, honestly that would be kind of cute 🤣
I can only presume/guess that if he ever hide his tail on purpose then he hides it because tails conveys feelings. 😊

He doesn't have the tail. Dan Heng and Bailu both got messed up by Transmutation arcanum. Transmutation Arcanum made Bailu. She supposed to inherit all the high elder power(DanHeng IL powers should have been gone) but since something got wrong she was created instead as a weaker version of Imbibitor lunae and Dan Heng retained the power of previous high elder.

He does have a tail, and a very long one at it, in one of his idle animations. If he doesn't show it is because it's either inconvenient (imagine dragging that thing everywhere you walk) or he's self conscious about it.
Also in another of his idle animations, it starts raining out of nowhere.
Neuvillette and Dragon Heng are too similar, both gameplay and appearance and you can't deny this to me.

It is curious because even Dan Feng lacks of an actual tail like Bailu's. They seem to be able to show them, or at least create an image of them whenever they want. Maybe they were cut and now are just a "decoration"
They put a sealing device on Bailu's tail to prevent accidental misfire of powers.
Older/experienced high elders probably learn how to hide their tails.

my theory is that the reason why its translucent is bc not all of dan feng's powers transferred to dan heng (: bailu being born from the healing, nurturing side of dan feng) so basically it's just like traces of the viydharya (? dont remember spelling)

About that tail, I guess it is because the Transmutation Arcanum (basically their genetic succession device) was tampered during the incident of sedition of Imbibitor Lunae. There's a theory that Bailu was Baiheng a late foxian warrior. The transmutation device was mixed with her DNA hence why Bailu has tail similar to that of a Foxian
This was proven false with this story quest.

Nope, Baiheng travelled with the Express and followed the Path of the Nameless after the fall of the High-Cloud Quintet.
So it's practically impossible for her to be Bailu because Bailu was created when Dan Feng was still alive

As for daniel's tail, I think he placed his dna on dead baiheng in order to be revived. Well it didnt went well, she turned into a dragon abomination(?) to which jingliu killed and whatever happened that lead to bailu's birth.

The only thing we can really know for sure is that Baiheng’s death during the war against the Enanatir was the beginning of their whole problems (Blade chose to “consume the Emanator”, Jinglu went berserk, and Dan committed the taboo that created an Abomination of Abubdance).

@@fufu-jh I also have the same theory, like you said their powers got split into two, Bailu got the physical traits of a dragon while danheng got the aura and appearance of the last high elder, also it's canon that bailu inherit the healing powers of the high elder while danheng inherit the destructive powers

She is only High Elder in titel but not in actually power. The reason why Dan Heng wanted to visit Bailu was to teacher her how to use the power of the High Elder. Technically Dan Heng still has the powers of Imbibitor Lunae/High Elder, because when Dan Feng was forced into a rebirth, they were never moved onto a new Person who could be High Elder.
I don't really remember much of the quest, but I think Bailu actually used some of the High Elder powers to seal the roots of that tree, so maybe both have aspects of the High Elder powers but neither have the full picture. Sadly we don't have enough information about the Vidiyadaras to know more right now, but hopefully in the future c:
