Before winning a Bronze in the 1988 Seoul Olympics Carr wrestled this match against Dave Schultz. Carr also won 3 NCAA titles defeating Kenny Monday in the finals.
I have some good matches of dolph monday urbano smoth smith cross koll monday schultz that are not on youtube but i dont have the equipment to post any help from the community would help ill have it up quickly ? jones vanni baumgartner i mean some really awesome stuff that must be uploaded here quickly.
Any of y'all know if there is footage of this match from the other side available somewhere I can access it?? It looks like Dave used my favorite grappling technique, what I call an inverse Whizzer, but I can't tell 100%
Wow, never seen Carr handled like that. Awesome match, true classic. Thanks for posting. RIP Schultz, gone but never forgotten. 🙏🏾
Dave was a true ambassador of the sport. Rest in paradise!
Wow!! They didn't even look like they were in the same weight class. Dave has to be one of the smartest wrestlers to ever do it. Way ahead of his time
Carr after this match says I'm going back down to 149 .5
That is a SERIOUS whizzer. He almost broke his shoulder and pinned him. 1:58
I believe this was the year Dave pinned his way through the tournament, like 8 or 9 pins in a row.

Beautiful match by Schultz
RIP Dave
Nate Carr was a great, gold medal winning American wrestler, and Dave opened a can of whoop ass on him like nobody else ever did before.
OMG. Nate Carr was a beast. Dave Schultz reminds me of Khabib. He would of been awesome in UFC
If mma was around back then he wouldve slain in it.. mark schultz pounded out a legend in his debut and he wasnt even training anymore at that time.
Schultz was the greatest technician ever.
