"Common sense" stuff, if someone will stop and think, but most of us don't. I appreciate the video.
Thanks for watching.
Kevin, thanks again. I picked my trailer up today and although I never thought I'd ever do this, but I climbed underneath and on top, checked the doors for smooth operation, looked for burrs around screws, found the screws missing that you mentioned in the wheel arches, looked for gaps in the floor boards and made sure the sealer was on the roof. The dealer thought I was loopy when I asked him to give me some color matched screws so I could fix the wheel arches. I took something to lay on, a ladder, flashlight, and notes from your video. It was kind of fun. I even checked the tires to make sure they were trailer tires, the load rating, etc. The only issues I saw were the missing screws and the license plate light had condensation in it, so obviously I need to open it and seal it. I could have had him replace it, but he was grumpy enough as is and I think I got a good deal. Thanks again, it's guys like you that make YT great.
Michael, im glad to help someone else out so you don't have to go through the mess i did.
Thank you so much! I’m a single Mom and we will be buying one to live on the road and simplify life. I’m adding this video to my before you buy a trailer playlist. We’ve always been using our vacation time to travel, now it will be a full time adventure. 😁Thank you again!!
thank you for watching, good luck on your travels sounds like fun, let me know if i can help in anyway.
Great video! Watched the whole thing. Common sense things put into one complete list. I’ve been researching cargo conversions for a few months. I know what I want to do on the inside, but finding an affordable well built trailer is proving to be harder than expected. Thanks for the video!
Thank you for all the great tips. As someone new to looking at cargo trailers this is very helpful for me.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for this helpful inspection list! My husband and I are looking for a 7x14.
Absolutely fantastic video Kevin! First time buying a cargo trailer and had minimal idea on what to look for. You have helped me tremendously! Thank you so much. Keep it up!
Glad it helped!
Keeping this video for review when I purchase my trailer! Thank you so much for doing this!!
Thank you so much for the comment and watching.
Thank you. I got a piece of paper out and started writing. You gave me a lot of info
Glad it was helpful!
Hi Mr Robinson. I always enjoy looking at your videos. I admire and appreciate all the work you do here. Seems to me you’d be a great neighbor for a guy who’s handy like yourself. Keep up the good work
Looking for land to build a cabin.
Kevin
Thank you for the insight on what to look for when purchasing a trailer. Much appreciation for your help! Keep the videos coming and YOUR TRAILER IS LOOKING FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!! Happy camping and stay safe when doing so!
Thank you Earl.
Decent video, you have some good pointers. One thing I would absolutely do in your case is put a protective shroud around that electrical wire inside your wheel well. 1 rock hits that bear wire and you're looking at a potential electrical issue. Be safe
Thanks for the info!
Thank you for your time to post this. Excellent content.
My pleasure!
Thanks for the comment.
I love your video about checking through out!

Thank you for the comment and watching Francisco.
Great video, thank you. I'm picking a 6 x 12 enclosed trailer up tomorrow.
Will make a nice camper
I am so glad I just discovered your you tube site! I looked at your video playlist and am amazed at how creative a DIY master you are. I also heard in your speaking that you must be from the Pittsburgh Pennsylvania area, as you possess several distinctive Western PA speech sounds. I went to school there (Carnegie Mellon, Theatre/Speech School) back in the early seventies, and love that particular American "dialect". A very good friend lives there and so, I get to hear it again, from time to time. Thanks for your spectacular videos. I look forward to watching most of them, as you appear to know all one should know in order to take care of ones self in this world (or not to get ripped off when someone else 'services" your need) It is never too late to learn. I'm 70, and still have lots to learn!
Thank you emmettwalz I love to help if my videos helps one I have done my job.
Thank you for all the good info. Appreciate it!
Thank you for the comment and watching Edward.
Kevin, Well done! Thank you for a great video.
Thank you for watching and the comment Explorer 867.
I'm thinking about buying and building out a cargo trailer. After watching your video it's obvious the manufacturers are careless. If you were going to purchase another trailer what manufacture would you choose?
Great advice. Thank You!
You are so welcome! thank you for watching Eric.
Very useful video. Thanks for sharing.

Very true i didnt inspect mine wich a 2019 anvil just got lucky everything was fine ecept the door latch that hold the door in the open position with a little male plastic toung that fits int a female receiver on the bottom front of the trailer the female part was installed the wrong way a quarter turn not allowing it to fit together fixed it myself but had their screw holes to caulk up or have a leak all in all pretty miner but didn't notice until i was at home and tried to use it so inspection of yours is a great idea and also no mater what it is a great idea to kool-seal the roof again even if it bran new and dont leak only going to make it that much better and sooner or later you will replace your crank up vent cover so keep an eye on it for sun rot .great advice sir you did not steer us wrong thank you so much for your knowledge and help dealing with these situations.Happy and safe trails to you and the Mrs.

Great video. Going to most likely be buying by Oct. Still stuck overseas, as airports were all closed. finely have a few flights available, so going through the steps to get stuff sold and a flight out. bookmarked the video so can go back and watch it before I need the info. BTW, liked your build. The glass backsplash is the same that I put in my house when I remodeled my kitchen. Not Cheap...
Not cheap but nice for sure thanks for the comment rider.
Thank you!
You're welcome!

Great video---wish I would have seen this video before I bought my new enclosed trailer. The welds underneath are not all that great, but overall the trailer is fine. Thanks for the video. Liked and subbed!
Thank you JP.
Great video
Thank you,I learned the hard way of not inspecting it before I paid for it.
Very helpful info.
Thanks for the comment and watching Tom.
Thanks for the video buddy enjoyed G-man out
Thank you for watching G man my friend.
Very Nice Video 👍
Thank you thunder19301
Right behind you in Arizona! Petrified Forests!
Thanks for the shout out.
A lot of good points in this video Kev. I seen all kinds of problems with NEW trailers!! I remember when you posted the video getting this trailer home. man did I feel bad for you. Luckily you have some tools and a skill set, most guys would have been screwed. I went with a Cargo Express built in Indiana. There are a few issues to take care of but nothing terrible. I hope you get the views this video deserves!!!
I thank God I can work with my hands thank you for the comment Joe.
Thanks Kevin, great video, want to know where you get the black step ladder and what model for the side door?
Great advice, thanks. I am thinking about buying a cargo trailer. I would plan on painting it with a good two part epoxy enamel or bed liner product to seal the shell. Give it a real undercoat instead of a light black paint job I have seen on other videos.
Thanks for the comment and watching if I can help let you me know.
Asphalt Fence Paint is what you want on the entire undercoating! Hand paint it, roll it over all the wood and metal real thick and let it sit 70 degrees or higher for a few weeks to fully cure. Best way to treat the underside!
Thank you very much I’m loo to buy a cargo trailer for camping 🌴😎🇺🇸🌴
Thanks for the comment good luck my friend.
You get what you pay for. Do your research on manufacturers. Build a relationship with the dealer. There are high quality dealers out there. You don't have to buy from biggest, cheapest dealer, buy from someone you can trust.
good information
Use a square bit on the screws , it looks like a star bt cant find a star bit, so use a square bit it will work
A Lot of Very Good Points. Thanks for posting this, we all really need to raise hell with these people to make them do quality work or get a $1000.00 discount. China ?
This cargo trailer was made in Georgia United States but not built by Americans.
A logistic company picked up and shipped mine outside the US for me. When I received it part of the marker light could not come on. They did not even test the lights when they made the box trailer. After a while, the tow bar cracked on both sides right under the v nose.
The sealant on de roof looks so messy. They did not bother to stick stickers straight on the box.
Man that is terrible, it is a shame that a company will put their name on garbage like that, but i know how you feel i had a lot of problems with mine also.
🌮 good video
Thank you Mark.
great job. I'm making my list. Good info.
If I can help let know thanks for the comment
At 17:30..Something to think about if you'll be pulling with a truck. Your jack in the front where the hitch is will probably impede lowering the tailgate. And, I'll guarantee you that even if you are careful, someone else won't be. First thing you know, you have a nice pretty dent in your gate.
yes i will be very carefull
Good video I wish I saw this video before I bought my trailer. You are dead on about inspection it before you buy it
Thank you for watching Dale.
👍
Kevin,
Did you video how you converted the inside of your trailer? I’m looking for ideas on adding a shower, sink, and bed in mine.
Hope this helps czcams.com/play/PLLHXFUMvCeOlqQJxLSW6CLGzcquhBA-Sd.html
I've been sick sorry for the late reply.
Hey Kevin, god video, good advice. Seems like you went to a crappy trailer manufacturer.👍🏼
Very good tips, once you pay it's yours alright. Important to do the same with vehicles. How did you mount the awning? and does the door rub on it?
Drew, no it doesn't rub but it is close to the awning.
Just found this video. Thanks for the good information. What is the name of the clip you mentioned on the ball hitch? Where can you buy them?
Lol
Nice build, just wondering if you wish you had a tandem axle or are you happy with a single axle. I built a 7 x 14 tandem axle. I am happy with it .but my wife likes to go places that i am not happy driving on certain roads in neighborhoods, going on dead end streets .she doesn't understand its hard to make a u turn or driving on narrow roads, every time we drive to a town like to drive through the neighborhood to look at all the houses ,she doesn't see my concerns. So i am going to sale it and down size to either a 6by10 or maybe 6 by 12.dont Know if I should get a single or double axle.also would you get 16" tires .and would you have the axle on top of leaf springs instead of the bottom for clearance. Would appreciate your thoughts. Great video you have done.
You definitely want to go with a 6 by 12 I do really like my single axle trailer it's worked out great for us
Ordered my 7x12 diamond cargo at end of March and took them 3 months to build and when I inspected it (top 2 bottom) found small spot on ramp and the window was installed crooked and on top of screws that secure siding bending window frame...they called after a week on return trying to talk me into accepting it but not a chance of that now 2 weeks later saying it will be ready next week so wish me luck on 2nd inspection or getting my 1600. deposit back
Good luck my friend thank you for the comment.
Would you recommend buying a used trailer?
Just passed you on the interstate in Wisconsin, what are the odds? Haha
Thanks for the shout-out Jake.
There are two diamond cargos in GA which did you use?
Not sure.
What size is your trailer?
It's sad that there is no QC at the companies that make these. I've looked at several and it's horrible what I see. Slapped together and sent out the door.
i agree 100% , i learned my lesson though it won't happen to me again.
Does your step fold in and out. Where did you get it?
yes it does here is a video link in the description czcams.com/video/Rk6lTpjNUIk/video.html
We saw you
Thanks for the shout out.
One warning for anyone buying a trailer from Douglas, Ga. 99% of these companies have NO Quality Control at all. The wheels will be loose as heck, screws missing, holes in the floors, no caulking etc etc. There's a reason why they are so cheap in Douglas, Ga, because they are building dozens a day, and by inexperienced workers.
Mike you are so right thanks for the comment.
Square or double square bit Amazon sourced
Thanks for the comment.
All aluminum with no wood
Works for me thanks for the comment.
🖒🎥😐
Thank you M Ten.
Trailers plus in marysville wa did this to me. My trailers roof is horrible. I did not bring a ladder. They will f*** you. Trailers pluss marysville wa. Avoid them.
Thanks for the comment that's good to know.
nails really cmon
Why would you want to stay a night in something like this when you can pay to stay in a Marriott or a Trump hotel. It's like you want to make yourself endure pain. It has to be deep physiological issues to want to endure a stay in such a confined space. Lets get for real about this, it's a damn cargo trailer.
That's your opinion it works for us and it's better than a tent.
This comment is what someone w psychological issues would say! Better hurry and go stay at Trump hotel they are not gonna be around much longer😂 I’ll take a night in this here cargo trailer any day over a Dump Hotel.
@@shaneanderson2978 thank you for your comment my friend.
Thank you!
You're welcome!
