A note on "flock" for turtledoves, while they will settle closeish together sometimes they aren't really truly flocking birds in general! They tend to live in pairs in the wild. Another fun fact about these birds is that the origin of the birds we keep as pets isn't totally clear! They are truly domesticated as far as I've read, and I usually prefer to refer to them as Barbary doves to distinguish from the wild ring neck species. My information may or may not still be up to date though! I'll need to check again. A thing to note about keeping them with other bird species is that they can tend to bully smaller or more mellow species (particularly cockatiels) in some cases, but they rarely seem to injure others in my limited experience? That's really all of the information I have on the top of my head that isn't too redundant, they are such wonderful birds and I love how content yours look! Very pleased to be around you, "chubby" cheeked, relaxed feathers, no tension, it's clear they trust you very much!
Side note, I don't want to be rude, and it might be on the paranoid side, but I wouldn't burn candles/incense or spray aerosols in the room with them just in case, the lung system of birds is really sensitive and there's not a lot of information out there on which essential oils and such are safe for them to inhale! I used to clean down my cages with vinegar, baking soda and lemon juice for enzymatic action of some sort (the juice and soda paste was very good at cleaning is all I know for sure!)
Agreed! I think I've read somewhere that keeping more than a pair can be a bad idea because of how aggressive they can actually get if other doves get too close to their nest/eggs/babies, but I can't remember if that was for ringneck or pet pigeons..
Space big pigeons vary, but they do well in a big flock! It's the turtledoves that are more hermitty by nature. The rock doves are much more rough and tumble generally, especially the males (my boy Condor would wrestle and fight my fingers when I invited him for that play ... Very cute and he'd just meander off when he was done!) I haven't kept rock doves with other species, most keepers I know have them either as indoor pets or in single-species coops, but that might be more out of simple tradition...people tend to seek more "exotic" species for aviaries. The other thing is that male rock doves can be very set on courting anything that moves on occasion, while most are reasonably monogamous from what I've read I wouldn't put it past a big male to try 'drive' a smaller bird to a nest and upset or bruise it perhaps?

My first ever bird was a 15+ year old turtledove some of my dad's friends decided they didn't really want anymore (for some reason), so we brought him home. He spent the last couple years of his life helping me through high school. He was an absolute sweetheart and I miss him ♥
One thing you forgot to mention is grits! Grits is very important part of a doves diet, doves have a different digestive system then hook bills and grits help them to processes or "ground" the seeds in their stomach. This is why pigeons and doves peck and eat small rocks in the wild! Grits also give them certain vitamins and minerals they need to keep them happy and healthy :) it also keeps their poos nice and healthy. Some doves will eat grit straight out of a bowl but some doves like it mixed with their food! Thank you for the information!
the bird rescue i go to has a pair, a dove and a budgie, that are inseparable! the dove took care of the budgie as a baby and now they cant be taken apart, so i've decided on getting them both !
My dove plays. I'm sure he can't be the only one. He loves lightweight cat toys. He flings them all over the place. He also loves to play with my hand hiding under a sheet, just like a cat! Oh, and he loves flinging my underwear around inside my drawer while I'm getting dressed, same with any light weight fabric I'm sewing with. He's recently claimed a large fallen Christmas bell as his own. He's very curious and definitely plays. If I introduce something new to play with, I peck at it with my finger and fling it around so he knows it's safe.
Phew, I kept doves (Java) in an aviary with finches, a canary and two quail but started before the internet so I was kind of worried in case I'd messed up. We started with two and had 14 in total, sadly we lost three when they were still youngsters 😞 We'd had them for about 15 years when I went out to feed them one morning and they were all gone. All 11. Doors shut and bolted. A few feathers thrown but no sign of animal intrusion. I think they were stolen. A few weeks later the local panto announced they had doves of peace live on stage for the first time. No way of proving if they were mine of or not as I hadn't seen the need to ring them and always thought it looked unpleasant. So I'd add a tip by saying if you do decide to raise babies, even if you don't plan on selling - get them ringed. Thank you for reminding me how amazing doves are bringing back lots of wonderful memories 💖
Emily Garcia Thank you 💖 I hope whoever took them gave them a good life afterwards (I still worry about my little disabled baby though, a flightless bird is only 'useful' for showering with kisses and cuddles really) or found them someone who could love them the way they deserved.
I've had a female white dove for over ten years and she is amazing and hilarious! We take extremely good care of her and she lays eggs constantly lol. I enjoyed learning useful tips from this video!
I keep a bird feeder outside of my office window and I love seeing the mourning doves come in and eat away at the seeds. I find them so beautiful and so adorable! It is currently April so they are making babies and I am so excited to see the little guys! So happy!!!
I'm a long time dove mom. My experience has been VERY different. Simon, my first, lived to be almost 17. I need doves for many years. I loved how different their personalities were. Currently we have 2. Marshmallow and LadyBird. Simon LOVED toys! He LOVED music and had his favorite singers (Michael Jackson, Elton John, Ray Lamontagne) and he also had singers he couldn't stand (Gary Allan, Led Zeppelin) . He had a big hanging rope toy with knots and beads that he picked at and rattled. He had a big bell that he would hop up and hit with his wing for attention. Simon even had his own radio. Marshmallow has toys and enjoys them. He has simple cheap bird toys and loves them so much I made him some more hanging toys. They also LOVE to look into mirrors. His home made toys are mainly natural hemp cord with jingle bells, shiny beads, silver blanks and other small shiny pretties tied on with macrame knots. My tweet tweets (past and present) LOVE having a nice warm bird bath offered to them. After all these years of excellent, happy birds, I have NEVER been able to find a TREAT they love. I know their seed only diet HAS to get boring. Has anyone come across a packaged or home made "tweet tweet treat" their doves love?
My doves love cooked and uncooked rice. They love oat meal grits trust me try it. You’ll see. Anything that is sweet or has sugar is not good & unhealthy for doves They also love chopped up tomatoes 🍅 as a good source of life and nutrition. I have 4 doves 3 collard doves and 1 ring neck dove.
I’ve had my ring neck dove (Appa!) for 10 years now. He’s the sweetest companion. I found he loves to eat safflower seeds and unsalted popcorn. He also LOVES his swings and enjoys preening and playing with rope toys. Doves also really enjoy checking themselves out in mirrors. 😊😊
I've always wanted to own birds but everyone says they don't feel anything towards you, don't love you as a friend or carer. Idk, I think your doves prove those people wrong ^3^
Birds will absolutely bond to you when you treat them with kindness and understanding. Some parrots bond so much to people that they pluck their own feathers out when they’re separated from their owners.
I had a canary who lived to be 10 1/2 years old and she was absolutely bonded to me. She had quite the personality; she was very sweet but also quite feisty. Hated being handled, which I respected, but any time she was at the vet she would fly back to me for safety. Once she got older she chose to start perching on my hand to take naps and you bet my heart melted when she did that. Birds are wonderful if you choose the right match for your personality and lifestyle.

A wild dove keeps getting stuck in my chicken’s run. I always see her stuck in the mornings and I always figure she’ll probably go out the way she came in, so I don’t bother her, but every night when I go to put my chickens away she’ll be stuck still but now desperately trying to escape. Unlike the other wildlife that sometimes get trapped you can’t herd her out the open door, she just doesn’t get it. I’ve had to pick her up each time and set her outside, and she’s strangely calm during this process... makes me think she’s a loose pet dove. No way to know for sure though so I leave her be as much as I can.
For a cheap cage for doves look at dog crates. You can get a big one for $20-25 on special on Amazon, which we did for my son's dove. We also used natural clean tree branches of different size so 0 cost for perch (make sure the tree is not toxic). Our dove Choucroute loves to play with budgie toys. everything with moving parts, bells etc he'll play with. Cat's balls with bell inside is a great toy for throwing around when the bird comes out on the floor to explore. Like you we feed a mixed diet made with a base dove feed plus fortified pellets and wild bird mix. They love grapes of millet too. Grit with oyster shell. My son thinks doves make better pets then budgies! And they get used to being picked up and step up so quickly. I love your window perch I need to get one of those!
Oh my gosh the intro 💗👏🏻😭 they are all so precious! I love them alllllllllll your doves are so beautiful 🕊 I love your ferrets, so sweet & playful 💗 wonderful video Em!
@@gillermo44 My question was on the food troughs (container, if that's clearer), not the type of food I use. But yes, I use canary seeds too since my pet shop doesn't sell dove-specific seeds.
i’ve been enamored with the idea of getting a bird as a pet. I really liked this video for how educational it was! And I’m glad I chose this to add to my arsenal of research before I decide to choose to acquire a bird hehehe! Voodoo and Presto are adorable!
Doves are so precious, theres a large flock near my home and i love to listening to their cooing, since i was a kid it always was a reminder of upcoming summer and vacations 🌞
I wish I could get a pet friend, but I travel all the time, live alone, and often spend over 12hrs at a time at the office, so there would be nobody to take care of them :(
Fish are friends and they don't really need anything except some water changes and food. They're also fun to look at especially a tropical community tank. Or just get a betta in a at least 2.5 gallon tank and they're very fun
Different fish have different needs. Many bettas are actually not properly cared for (5 gallon tanks are recommended). Thankfully there so many types of fish to choose from and they can add a nice pop of color to your life.
To my surprise I have a pair of mourning doves that come to visit me every day. This was so informative and I highly appreciate the economy mix suggestion. Totally subscribed.
I rescued two pigeons as babies a few years ago now. One was “scalped” badly and I couldn’t believe he survived. Needed round-the-clock care and at that time I was unemployed…so it was perfect for him and I! Found the other one a year later. They’re doing well, although the one is disabled and has only one eye. Pigeon forums online helped and certainly, I’m still not an expert so I love your videos. They provide additional info and I appreciate them! Thank you!😉
ive been thinking a lot about getting pet birds when I get a proper place of my own, and between finches and doves/pigeons. I'm way too sensitive to loud, high-pitched noises for a budgie or cockatiel, but i actually find the beeping and the cooing really pleasant. So I'm watching videos from people who have these birds and some day I'll have my own
It is fun to look at and fun to play in (for 15 minute increments). But come time to drive or shovel it, you learn to dislike it.. so come upstate, park yourself in a coffee shop, and enjoy the sight.
@Winter Soldier Yeah! This summer was one of the hottest in years here in Denmark 😱 we normaly have a week with warm weather and then back to normal danish weather....but this global Warming is attacking us
Thank you for sharing your wisdom and experience with us! (quite a lot of commercials tho) My white dove ‘Hootie’ always preferred the little, cream colored, round seeds. He never ate anything oblong, or colored. I guess he was a picky eater. lol 😊
Ive had Albino Ringneck Doves for about 10 years. We've bred them for the longest time (by accident) and gave them to lovely homes, but we eventually kept two males that were the result of our breeding, Bigboy and Joe Jr.. I absolutely love my boys
Hi Em ! Being the owner of a male ringneck dove since 2016, I know now they really prefer larges cages (like the ones for bunnies) so they can walk, not high cages to fly in (it's not fitting for them). I don't see this in others comments but it may have already been told to you :) Mine has a cage with all his food and water, but is also free in the house. I saved him two years ago from a bad breeder in Paris, France, and he thanks me every day with a lot of love ! xxx EDIT : Also in this video your birds don't seems to be adults already. I was told mine was a female, and at puberty it turned out to be a male... Are your birds really a male and a female now ? (They turn adults around 6 months)
This made me tear up a little bit seeing as how I had raised an orphaned dove after a hurricane hit and she had flown away hours ago after a mishap on my part. I'm happy she's in her natural habitat but kinda sad seeing as it was enjoyable to raise a dove from a little "vulture" to a "dive bombing hawk" as my dad called her.
Great video!👏 I'd like to add that while keeping females that are of age to lay eggs it is extremely important to make sure that the bird is at a correct body weight and is being fed a proper an well balanced diet. A laying female will use alot of her reserves, calcium, energy, ect in order to form an lay her eggs so make sure your compensateing for the lost calcium an vitamins. Also I'm not sure if doves are similar to parrots in the sense that they can get fatty liver disease quit easily, but it's worth looking into. **It's also good to do a check in the room before letting your birds out to explore. Most people don't think about these kinds of things but the smallest mistake can kill your bird.. Make sure anyone in the house is aware that they're coming out, keep all pets that could harm them separate, ceiling fans are not friends with flighted birds so make sure they are off, like Em said put some stickers up so they don't fly into any windows, basically common sense stuff that could save your birds life. Wow that was long lol 🕊️
doves get dusty if someone keeps them inside all year and has breathing problems consider bathing them year round (I keep my house warmer than I used to in the winter because I learned the had way so I'm not perfect by any means) sorry if you mentioned the potential dust and I missed it I really love the video and feel this is the dove care introduction video that they deserve ❤❤
Would you say they're good beginner birds? Parrots and cockatoos (or anything else with a hooked beak honestly) make me really nervous up close due to some past experiences I've had, so I've never had a pet bird. I didn't actually realize average people could own doves until you got Presto and Voodoo, so I've been waiting on a video dedicated just to them.
Fish Usually beginning birds are cockatiels, Bourke Parakeets, Budgies, and Lovebirds are all sweet and amazing birds. Hooked beaks don’t hurt unless the bird is wild or treated poorly.
Fish a bit late but my first birds were actually finches. While they arent as fancy, fun and exotic theyre low maintence happy birds who like to snuggle with each other and sing. They can be a bit messy though.
I think doves would make a great first bird, and so would cockatiels. I personally don't keep small birds like parakeets, budgies, and finches because I have a fear of them escaping and ending up stuck in a small place that I can't reach in to pull them out of.
My ringneck doves like playing with cat toys, like the balls(with the bells taken out) and they also LOVE their platforms! I use the same kind that you showed. Mine love hopping from platform to platform. My female dove loves to push the ladder around that's in their cage. She doesn't use the ladder, she just pushes it around. I don't feed mine vegetables though, as I've read from a ringneck dove breeder that doves actually can't digest vegetation, because they do not have the organ that is needed in order to digest vegetables(Can't think of what it's called, it's on the tip of my tongue. Starts with a c?) so it just goes right out without them taking any nutrition from the veggies, and can also upset their stomachs. It seems like there are different opinions though on sprouts because some say that they can't digest it, and others can but only if you feed them whole the tails(new growth) are very small
Also, it's fun to think of fun foraging toys for them! A lot of parrot foraging toys are too complex for them to figure out, but mine seem to like it when I sprinkle some seed into plastic fake grass mats and have them forage and pick all of the seeds out of it(Just make sure they don't swallow any of the fake grass, of course)
Doves actually are pretty intelligent! Also Tyler Rugge recently did a video on them and mentioned a study that showed that doves can actually recognize themselves in a mirror, pretty cool right?😊
Agreed that doves arent all that bright, but my dove bell who i had for 10 years loooooooooved balls with little bells in them. Your doves are so beautiful

what a lovely and adorable and informative video. so cute to watch you interact with your doves and your voice is pleasant to listen to. Thank you for this video
Precious beautiful birds, thanks so much for sharing. Recently read an article about a bird rescuer who has a large aviary. She said that if birds are fed twice a day - she feeds at 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.and removes the food after 30 minutes - they learn quickly to eat their fill during those times and everything they’ve eaten passes through them within two hours. After that she allows them out to explore without having to worry about the substantial mess birds are known to make. She also boards birds and gets them on a schedule within a few days, to the delight of their owners. I’m sure there are caveats but it would definitely be worth a try, imo. We love animals of all kinds and have a dog, but bird or any other kind of poo randomly dropped around my house on a daily basis would drive me to the brink. 😏
This was really helpful! I've always been afraid of most birds but I am so in love with Doves / Pigeons and they're the only birds I would want. I'll book mark this for when I have the space to care for a couple!
Hey Em, can you maybe do a later video on skunk care like this one. I know you have put up a nutrition video, but I would just like to see your ways of caring for your babies as I am still looking into them. Thank you!
I have bred and raised pigeons since I was 15. I have had a break(apartments don't like exotic pets sadly) but I loved to interact with the birds as they are very social and interactive in nature. Doves are the more commonly owned bird, but I found that the pigeon gets overlooked a lot, though they are also highly intelligent. There are so many species and sub species of doves and pigeons, and all of the kinds have their unique attributes, and a lot of similarities. I raised homing pigeons, and Voorburg shield cropper pigeons. I never raised them for racing(I personally decided it was too dangerous), though I did a show or two. They breed often, and it is super easy for 2 birds to turn into 20 within 1 year(keep that in mind if you have a mated pair). They take about 18 days from conceiving to laying the eggs, and about 30 days to go from squab, to juvenile. They are not old enough to mate until they are 6 months, and they are not fully mature until they are a year. A way to tell is that their feathers won't look all there and might be thin, and the white part on their beak where the nose is won't be white yet. Behavior isn't always a way to tell if they are male or female however. You could have 2 females and they would still court each other, and mount each other. They only way is to see who lays the egg and to see if it is fertile. The female will swap out with the male on sitting on eggs, but once they are hatched often she will only take care of the babies for the first few days, after that daddy is doing all the work while she gets nutrients to create the next batch of eggs. Without rearing squeakers you can still gain a lot of enjoyment with these birds. I had up to 30 at one point in my loft, there is something super rewarding to see all these birds, and they all greet you with this open happiness as they jump up and down cooing at you. At the end of the day, the work pays off.
I love how I can both live vicariously through you with those creatures and also learn a great of those creatures, too. And I absolutely LOVE your personality You rock!
I know a lot of people say that they don’t need toys or anything in there cages to interact with. But my 2 doves love playing with toys! I get a subscription box from SquawkBox, I make toys, and get some from my local pet store! But that is just my doves 😊
Makes me miss my old dove had xD We got him from someone that didn't want him and he'd peck himself so much he'd bleed until being with me a bit Used to coo so much and loved showers sooo much. Also the dancing and constant following
She starts by saying it's important to pick a healthy bird from a source you can trust. There are many people with the knowledge to help rescue a sick bird from careless sellers. These people usually have genuine care for a birds welfare and not just want a cute novelty pet to talk about. Thanks for your video.
i'm not sure if my family is fit for birds... the last time we had birds they just lifted the roof of the cage and squeezed their little bodies out. this is the 2nd time we've had birds. the first time we had them for a few years. probably before i was born. they flew away too. i got a cat a few years ago. she's super sweet! but i won't go on about her because this comment got way longer than i expected. bye!
Aisha Ali No its not. You dont know what you talking about. The animals that die to make shoes for you , suffer more ... wil you now walk on bare feet ?
Aisha Ali the thing is having a “cage free” bird is simply too unsafe. They can get in to way too many household dangers when they are left alone to roam around the house unattended and unsupervised. If they do happen to get into any dangers and the owners aren’t there it can definitely end up costing the birds life. They will also poop everywhere and probably make the most absolutely extreme mess. Keeping a cage is mostly necessary for birds, at least when the owner is not there to supervise and prevent them from getting into danger. Obviously keeping a bird in a small cage, or in their cage the entire day is another things. But most responsible owners who have done the proper research can meet their needs and help them thrive perfectly in a cage.
I noticed that the birds are in a colder area. I live in Canada and I would really love to keep them in a huge outdoor aviary. What temperatures would you allow your birds to be in?it gets up to 30 degrees (c) in the summer and as cold as -30 degrees (c). Do you think I could keep them outdoors. I currently keep them in a 4 x 3 x 3 indoors and am planning to give them 4 x 8 x 6 outdoors

Some doves will eat grit straight out of a bowl but some doves like it mixed with their food! Thank you for the information!
she did mention it
the bird rescue i go to has a pair, a dove and a budgie, that are inseparable! the dove took care of the budgie as a baby and now they cant be taken apart, so i've decided on getting them both !
Hey, sounds really interesting. How has it been going?

What about a Diamond Dove? Also, what is the minimum cage size for an single Diamond Dove?
My dove plays. I'm sure he can't be the only one. He loves lightweight cat toys. He flings them all over the place. He also loves to play with my hand hiding under a sheet, just like a cat! Oh, and he loves flinging my underwear around inside my drawer while I'm getting dressed, same with any light weight fabric I'm sewing with. He's recently claimed a large fallen Christmas bell as his own. He's very curious and definitely plays. If I introduce something new to play with, I peck at it with my finger and fling it around so he knows it's safe.
I'm a bit late here but how is your dove doing? Sounds like a cute bird:))
Madame Arkadina Thank you for sharing your story :)
😱 I’m so sorry about your birds! That’s so terrible!
Emily Garcia Thank you 💖 I hope whoever took them gave them a good life afterwards (I still worry about my little disabled baby though, a flightless bird is only 'useful' for showering with kisses and cuddles really) or found them someone who could love them the way they deserved.
Emzotic Hard way to learn a valuable lesson: not all humans see animals as family 💔

Dryed or cooked oat meal and grits. Had to add that.
Niarraha Such people might never have seen a parrot xD
Noo my pigeon comes my bed and sleep with me she loves mee but i love her more. I think they have emotions more than we thought
They ae very social creatures so yes, they will bond and love you. You have to spend a lot of time with them though.

Wants in. Let her be safe inside.
Take her in. She probably needs rescue
@@caroliner.7628 it’s been years, I stopped seeing her after awhile. I like to think she found a chicken coop to live in else where 🙂
She's trying to stay in Your chicken run because she probably is a domesticated dove and thinks it's home like.
I bought my white dove recently and they started loosing feathers. I got afraid. Thanks to you, now I know they were molting. Very helpful video.
Oh my gosh the intro 💗👏🏻😭 they are all so precious! I love them alllllllllll your doves are so beautiful 🕊 I love your ferrets, so sweet & playful 💗 wonderful video Em!

What food troughs do you use? They seem ideal for containing seeds and preventing the birds from crapping in them.
I use canary seeds really does the trick
@@gillermo44 My question was on the food troughs (container, if that's clearer), not the type of food I use. But yes, I use canary seeds too since my pet shop doesn't sell dove-specific seeds.
@@JemiDove my local shop does things like that also I think the food container is a wooden rabbit hay feeder.I think you can find them at petsmart.

i’ve been enamored with the idea of getting a bird as a pet.
I love your transparency when it comes to caring for pets, you're really amazing at teaching people who may or may not no much about the animal.
I wish I could get a pet friend, but I travel all the time, live alone, and often spend over 12hrs at a time at the office, so there would be nobody to take care of them :(
Eva Lore Thank you for being responsible enough to acknowledge that!
Fish are friends and they don't really need anything except some water changes and food. They're also fun to look at especially a tropical community tank. Or just get a betta in a at least 2.5 gallon tank and they're very fun
Awesomekittyness you can even have it in that very office!
Different fish have different needs. Many bettas are actually not properly cared for (5 gallon tanks are recommended). Thankfully there so many types of fish to choose from and they can add a nice pop of color to your life.
Em!! Your intro is sooo cute! You looked like you were chilly while filming haha.
miss-megative Thank you! Yes! I was chilly!
To my surprise I have a pair of mourning doves that come to visit me every day. This was so informative and I highly appreciate the economy mix suggestion. Totally subscribed.
My dove loves fruits and veggies. She gets a little of what im eating at the time. Right on my shoulder.
So I'm watching videos from people who have these birds and some day I'll have my own
Yess! The intro was so beautiful! I love doves and pigeons so much, i hope to have some eventually
Artsy Animal Lover Thank you Artsy! Pigeons and doves get looked down on because they’re thought of as ‘unclean’ but that’s just not true :)

I wasn't planning on watching a 26min video, but I did. Great content. No boring parts.
Hi Em !
Being the owner of a male ringneck dove since 2016, I know now they really prefer larges cages (like the ones for bunnies) so they can walk, not high cages to fly in (it's not fitting for them).
I don't see this in others comments but it may have already been told to you :)
Mine has a cage with all his food and water, but is also free in the house. I saved him two years ago from a bad breeder in Paris, France, and he thanks me every day with a lot of love !
xxx
EDIT : Also in this video your birds don't seems to be adults already.
Yes! Thank you, can’t wait to watch. Really love your doves there so cute!!!
Also just noticed your Christmas logo
you can tell how much stress danny had put her under then. she looks so much better now compared to then. incredible..
OMG the Intro was the cutest thing ever I love you and your mini zoo lol ❤️
Ezer Aww thank you!!!
22:32 Voodoo is so bright right here! Her and Presto are so pretty! I have an Inca dove so seeing the bright white is very stunning.
doves get dusty if someone keeps them inside all year and has breathing problems consider bathing them year round (I keep my house warmer than I used to in the winter because I learned the had way so I'm not perfect by any means)
sorry if you mentioned the potential dust and I missed it I really love the video and feel this is the dove care introduction video that they deserve ❤❤

This is so weird, I was just doing research on keep doves today! Anyway, love you so much!!!
*omg doves are beautiful creatures and love your creature feature videos ^^*
Valerie _Wolfie Thank you so much!
Yes, Ringneck doves are excellent beginner birds, they are very easy to care for.
Fish a bit late but my first birds were actually finches. While they arent as fancy, fun and exotic theyre low maintence happy birds who like to snuggle with each other and sing. They can be a bit messy though.
ᴘᴀɴɪᴄ yes
I think doves would make a great first bird, and so would cockatiels. I personally don't keep small birds like parakeets, budgies, and finches because I have a fear of them escaping and ending up stuck in a small place that I can't reach in to pull them out of.
Can you do a video of your reptile room please
Ash Smith I’m considering it :)
Plz do one. I want to see ur amazing reptiles
I gotta see those monitors!!
No fair >:(
She got two turtledoves!
My true love was supposed to get me two turtledoves on the second day of christmas!!!!
Space Thank you so much for your contribution to this video! Xxx

what a lovely and adorable and informative video. so cute to watch you interact with your doves and your voice is pleasant to listen to.
Your ferrets are so cute! I want ferrets some day!

Caterpillar AJ Thank you Caterpillar!!!
I live in Africa and these are my fav birds. I have had a whole aviary of them! So sweet.

LPS Girl Well it’s great that you know your capabilities and abilities :) very responsible xx
cats r domestic animals. caging birds like these is animal abuse
LPS Girl dont get more animals , please ...
Was thinking of getting diamond doves and then you post this. So now I AM getting diamond doves. Thanks for the info 💕

Wondering how long before someone says something about the candle burning...
Laced Reason I was thinking the same thing. I wonder if the candle is bird safe
Most likley not but honestly I've always had candles and I didn't notice any discomfort on the birds part. I don't light them often, the wicks are all cotton (no lead) and are either soy or beeswax based.
