Perfect timing. Dealing with this right now. I need to step up my public game for meetings etc. I called in the big guns, my 23 year old daughter. So far I have brutally gone through my closet, making a donation pile, a try on pile and a toss it, no one wants that pile. I have three blouses and one pair of pants arriving (Old Navy Sale) and have added a simple gold necklace (no cost used my Kohls cash). Next we are on to a sturdy fashionable pair of flats. (Said daughter has committed to helping with that). Also don't forget to reorient your make up as you get older or change where you are going versus what is a day time routine. Great topic, I realize I will need to add a few seasonal pieces as the weather warms so I do think giving yourself a small budget even can help. (Sorry for my diatribe 😜).

An inexpensive way i add to my wardrobe is exchange with close friends that wear the same size. My best friend of more than 40 years, we have been doing this for at least 20 years. It began as a way to celebrate our birthdays and just hangout...but over the years we have exchanged purses, jewelry, clothing that we might have been tired of but the other person loved it. We still do it til this day just once a year during the summer.

Amy, that is awesome! Sometimes lounging is needed for times of rest, but the rest of the time, it helps to start the day right and get moving 🤗

That bright jewel, toned blue, is I feel the best color for anyone. I’ve never seen a skin tone or hair, color or eye color not look fabulous in that jewel tone blue.

Excellent video! I believe you said this, but in my words: limit new items to those that go with what you already have. Look for pants/skirts that you can change up the look with different tops and shoes. Black pants (or skirt) is an excellent go-to, or if you don't like black--figure out your alternative. Some websites will get back to you with a discount offer, if you look but don't buy. Many business/tailored looking garments are available today in very comfortable and easy care fabrics. If your weight fluctuates, I give you permission to have a couple of sizes in your favorite items, if that works for you, so you always have something presentable. As a senior adult, this is sometimes an unavoidable health issue.

One big thing with me is how men's jackets have inside pocket for your wallet=safe from losing it. My male friend said women don't demand it so we don't have safe hiding places for our money. Thrift Stores have men's jackets, just add a lace hanky to the breast pocket or scarf to feminize it.🌿

Great tips Jennifer thank you. I think everyone should learn to sew as I'm not quite 5 feet tall and am forever grateful to my mum for teaching me basic sewing skills. I agree about the no iron no dry clean once paid dry cleaning of a coat and as asthmatic was nearly overcome by the stinking chemicals. Mum washed it and dried it in her garden and I've always bought machine washable coats ever since. I would knit a jumper or cardigan in a nice wool or cotton yarn before I would settle for itchy scratchy synthetics. Yes I am fussy but I also have eczema and very sensitive sore skin so I like comfort a nd practicality and that's worth paying for. Thanks to you and your channel iam able to economise where it's sensible to do so and then I can afford to buy quality when it matters. I really appreciate everything I learn from you. God bless you love Vera in N Ireland ❤

I had to add a little nugget about knowing what colors look good on you -- I know what DOESN'T but I'm not totally sure what does. I've seen those videos on CZcams where they have these scarves and hold them up to people's faces and.... girl... I can't tell a difference in the "reveal" LOL I am NOT color blind but... it wasn't just blatantly obvious to me what worked and what didn't. I think the struggle I have is with the ultra casual -- my kiddo plays baseball on the weekends and I see some of these moms going to the baseball games wearing high heeled wedge sandals and cut off shorts with their butt cheeks poking out and half shirts and they're in their late 40s and I'm just like.... people... stop. Just stop. I know they say people can wear whatever they want but.... no.... I refuse to believe that. At some point you gotta stop shopping the juniors department and embrace your age. I also just don't grasp the whole idea of dressing up with hair, make-up, dangling earrings, heels ... for a baseball game. I don't know if you'll ever get me out of my headspace for that! LOL If I'm dealing with boob sweat when its in the 90s for 4-5 hours... Idon't give two shits what I look like. LOL. Regarding the get up and get dressed -- I agree. EVEN if it's just to put on yoga pants and a comfy shirt that's flattering and a step up from your pj's it just helps you FEEL ready to do the thing. Great tips (and YES... royal blue looks FABULOUS on you!!)

We hear this all.the.time. from youtubers: "Don't let anyone tell you you're too old to wear something ". There is some truth to that, but you hit the nail on the head with the short shorts. Some things truly are so inappropriate after a certain age if a woman cares about looking classy.

Great video. I am retired and recently moved, new area and they definitely dress differently. I struggle with feeling good in my clothes and still being able to move around with the grandkids. I just got a dress I had my eye on a year ago, waited for the sale like you suggested and it was considerably less than a year ago and a wardrobe extender/elevator for sure.

I do not put dryer sheets in dryer. I put one in each suitcase. Keeps it smelling fresh.
Use baby clothes hangers for dickies that you wear under tee shirts.
Put dryer lint in compost pile.
