    That wood you used, with the knots, gives your wall a very interesting burl wood effect. Very cool.

      Thanks! That's one of the things we love about this project. With different wood options, stain, or paint etc., you can get very different looks with this project and make it uniquely yours!

    The painted accent wall and slat walls…I would def attempt because it seems budget friendly. Can’t wait to try these ideas in my friend’s new house.

      We completely agree! They're low-cost projects and could really help a new home feel more like your own. Have fun with it!

    I'm doing an accent wall using unused wooden mini blind slats!. They were from our previous home and have been sitting in the garage for years. I saw a utube video and yours which have taken my fear to inspiration!! TY

    I like the slat wall look. I plan on copying the wall Monica did in one of her recent projects.

    An "organic" wall does not have to cost $100 in paint or whatever. Use old greeting cards you received and saved over the years inset in frames purchased at thrift stores; frame wrapping paper that tickles your fancy; hang up used brass/metal or plastic (painted the color of your choice) wall candle holders from thrift stores or your stash (my stash is 50 years old and has many "old-fashioned" wall candle holders) and insert battery operated candles; hang up little mirrors - who says they need to be large show stoppers? Use pretty photos out of calendars and frame them in inexpensive frames. Actually, you can frame most anything, including making a collage of photos of your family, friends, or pets; frame sheet music or pages from your favorite novels (copied - I do not believe in destroying books to make decor); try your hand at free-style painting on 9/12 water color paper that you can pick up at a craft store- you don't have to use water colors, you can use acrylic paints. Frame and hang some pretty lace doilies that you inherited or buy at a thrift store, or a pretty scarf or a macrame creation. There is no end to what you can put on an "organic" gallery wall - let your imagination run wild.

    I really love this look! But I can see this collecting a lot of dust and it would be very hard to clean.

    I love somany of the ideas but not very good at seeing what will look like or a creative solution . Just moved to a completely different style home so have to start thinking about how to do a style to fit. Thanks for ideas, now need a helper to style for me and show me how to do diy projects. 😀

    Im undecided about the knots in the wood

    • @Zeeangelofdeath
      @Zeeangelofdeath Před rokem

      Then you should try to stain the wood, as to hide and blend the knots. Also the cost of slats without knots is anywhere from $6-10 per slat. The wood he is using is $1.69 each. So that’s why he said on a budget
