    Batman's legs look super tall when next to the Mafex version. Still a cool figure although I think the Mafex has a better sculpt but Todd has me spoiled with the 7 inch scale.
    As for Superman IMO the DC Direct version IMO is better by a landslide. I love Todd's stuff overall but I'm probably gonna pass on TDKR line.

  • @ReconFigures
    @ReconFigures Před 2 lety +16

    While you have the horse's front legs facing correctly, I'm pretty sure you have them on the wrong sides. The right and left refer to the horse's right and left. Also this would let the lettering face inward.

    • @BradTheDCUniverseGeek
      @BradTheDCUniverseGeek  Před 2 lety +1

      I thought so too but they don't fit in on the other side. They way I've got them is is the only way they fit.

    • @red_Ricky
      @red_Ricky Před 2 lety +4

      @@BradTheDCUniverseGeek Nope. Sorry Brad, but you definitely jammed the horse's right front leg into the left side... and it shows. And if you don't believe me, just pick a side of the horse and pull its front and back counter parts... then you'll see that one has an R engraved within the plastic, and the other has an L. (That is, assuming you manage to pull both legs from the same side.)

    My biggest issue with the McFarlane figures besides the ugly ball joints sticking out and the characters eyes often looking to the side is the proportions. All of his figures suffer from super small heads and long limbs and short torsos. It sucks as so many figures end up looking off because of it.

    • @BradTheDCUniverseGeek
      @BradTheDCUniverseGeek  Před 2 lety +16

      I would agree that some of them do but I'd have to disagree that most of them are out of proportion. Some are wonky and some are fantastic.

      @@BradTheDCUniverseGeek I think mainly his Batman characters are that’s why I said most because unfortunately Todd seems to be on a Batman high. His three jokers Batman is great but so off in the proportions.

  • @q.h.s5051

    These are alright. Dark Knight Returns is my favorite comic and animated Batman film so I was looking forward to these. I slowly fell out of interest for Mcfarlane figures over the last year though; with certain figures having horrible poseablity, stylized sculpts that may not work, lack of accessories and extra hands-heads, plastic capes, side eyes, and the joints. They’re beautiful figures sometimes with fantastic details as you show here, but I like to call Mcfarlane figures “statues with articulation” more than action figures
    I know it may sound outrageous but I kinda miss Mattel (even though their Carrie looks awful). I want to like Mcfarlane figures but my issues just become worse overtime. I wanted this wave and to enjoy it really bad, but by the end I decided to not touch them
    I wish Hasbro could’ve gotten ahold of DC figures. Something tells me a “DC Universe” line from them would work well

      edit: oh i hadn't gotten to the end of the video yet lol he says how he did it
      if Brad doesn't get back to you, i'm assuming he used some watered-down acetone/nail polish remover with a cotton swab. gotta be careful, though, because acetone reacts differently with different materials, and it's super potent! • @lfabio.n
      @lfabio.n Před 2 lety

      Todd is not alone in the idea of being against thigh swivel, this is an area DC Multiverse is way ahead Legends imo, a human being can only rotate the leg doing movements like this line does and the hip are of the figures resemble a lot what a human looks like, I can't say the same for Legends

    • @malcontentman9820
      @malcontentman9820 Před 2 lety

      @@lfabio.n Well I wouldn't say way ahead. Some Japanese imports are much better at what Todd tries to do. The human leg is more agile than his figures allow for. While Marvel Legends can exceed normal human leg rotation, Todd's Figures cannot even fully achieve the base line. They do have a cleaner look though. If we could marry the two and get the full natural rotation of a human leg plus the seamless thigh, that would be ideal.

    • @lfabio.n
      @lfabio.n Před 2 lety

      @@malcontentman9820 What bugs me is that from what I listen and read, is like people think Hasbro is near perfect and from my experience most of their figures have hips and shoulder looking way worse and less articulated, thigh swivel is something that makes up for their bad hip articulation, and I don't consider myself a hater, I buy Legends and I'm on the hunt for some Marvel Legends, I try to look at their positive aspects
