Technically, they're not exactly the same because tower control has no defending/offending teams (meaning both teams can move it), you must be on the tower to move it (not near it), and the tower resets back to the starting point if no one's on it (not on checkpoints).
Even if Foamstars fails, it will highlight the ever-growing issue of Splatoon's community: the toxic playerbase. As someone whose played the game since the 2015 testfire, it makes me so mad that the community devolved into such a cesspool. It's so bad that I didn't even bother getting 3 at launch since I don't want to play with a community full of hate. If it wasn't for the upcoming singleplayer-oriented Side-Order DLC, I would've just completely skipped 3 all together. If this is how you people are going to act towards a competitor, then what makes you think people will want to play with you?
I know not everyone is like this, so I just try to show compassion. People just want to fit in, so they parrot these view points from other people they hear to be considered a "true fan" for whatever it's worth. Games still fun tho, but the quality of people could be better. I can't really get to angry at anything I see either since I know it's mostly younger folks thinking the world is just black and white like that. I was the same way
I bought spat1 when I was like 13 or something and now am 20 I would’ve thought the community would’ve grown the fuck up why are they so angry about a game about foam
As someone who really doesn’t have any problems with this game when it was announced. It was generally a lot of fun playing the beta. Every game will be compared to another game, that is perfectly normal. I just think it’s funny how people like actually complain about a game, just because the game was inspired by Splatoon. keep in mind Splatoon isn’t the first game to use ink as the weapon in a game. And not the last. Can we just all give the game a chance when it comes out next week, instead of bitching around about the game just cause it exists or it’s a copy of Splatoon. I found that very childish and stupid over a bloody game you haven’t even played. Judge it when you’ve actually played the game, if you don’t like the game that is perfectly fine just stop with the bitching around, and focus on what you like instead of trashing on a game that you don’t like just because it’s a copy of another game. It’s childish for goodness sake. I just want people stop bloody complaining over a game just cause it may be similar to a another game
You’re already more open minded then the majority of people that will just shit on the game and refuse to play it for themselves and form their own opinion

For anyone saying this game is a clone... No. It isn't. It has enough diffrences to be distinct, atleast legally. Does it share characteristics? Yes. But.. Are Mario and Megaman the same? No. Do they share many characteristics? Absolutely. Fortnite and PUBG aren't clones of eachother are they? No. Similar games? Absolutely. Not clones.
Just gonna share some words that i feel like people need to hear. I find it funny how people are angry now that splatoon finally has a competitor. Grow up everyone, we all know this isn't how it used to be. I've heard people complain about the ranked game modes being "copied" from splatoon. No, just no. Splatoon players bout to scream at me for this.(go ahead, you can be angry, i don't mind) Here's what your "original" game modes are based on. * Tower control = Push The Objective * Rainmaker = Capture The Flag[with the flag being in the center and not in the enemy base] * Splat Zones = KOTH | King Of The Hill Crazy right? Splatoon actually took inspiration from something else? Ain't no way! See what i mean? The game modes being copied from splatoon means absolutely nothing, cuz most modes in splatoon aren't even original in the first place. About the specials. Yeah, i can see some similarities here and there, fair enough. However, most of them are too different to be considered "clones" I've seen people complain about the game being "too bright" making it hard to see what's happening. Wanna know something funny? People said the EXACT same thing about splatoon when that was released back in 2015. What happened? After a while, our eyes got used to it, and the same thing is going to happen again with this game. No point in complaing about that either. Now keep in mind that, i'm not saying foamstars is a perfect game, because i know for a fact that people are going to assume that and instantly go to the reply section. Classic splatoon community moment right there. Oh, and i've witnessed multiple splatoon players coming in, to the official foamstars server just to hate on the game. Come on everyone, you're better than that. If you're gonna join to be *_That Guy_* don't bother. You won't gain anything from it, it's just a huge waste of time. i already know most people aren't going to read this essay of a comment, but if you did. Props to you :D And for those wondering, yes. I do in fact play splatoon, been here since the first global testfire back in 2015 and seeing the community being shaped into what it is now, is quite disappointing. This absolutely needs to change because this community is going to implode if nothing actually changes. If this comment made you angry, it was not my intention. That's on you. -Squidge
I didn't mention clam blitz because I couldn't find a game mode similar to it. If you know about any game modes that share most of the mechanics clams does, definitely let me know and i'll edit the comment :P (And that gamemode has to have already existed way before splatoon did)
@@FrahdChikun oh, I am aware that most won't listen. However, there are those in the community that can actually take in stuff like this without crumbling into a ball and start crying. Should've mentioned this before too. I think that when the bigger splatoon creators try out foamstars(this will happen btw) they'll be complaining about the game the whole time they're playing which is definitely going to have a huge effect on the splatoon community(spreading the hate basically)

@@CarbyGuuGuu fair enough. The 3DS is apparently really easy to mod but I don't know about the switch. I might try but I don't want to risk bricking mine
Only reason I would want a modern PS is for fighting games
I guess that dude also missed the time alot of us who play splatoon saw overwatches push mode and said. "Wait, this is tower control"
I was about to say during the "Rubber Duck Party" bit, isn't that Tower Control? LOL
Man even the hud looks almost the fckin same
the makerainer in question:
i was thinkinf of rainmaker
Still looks like it plays way different from splatoon though
Soa looks like harmony and I can tell when this game fails you will blame the splatoon fans for the reason why it failed
@@maplemiles3381what does that give anything to the comment icchorist said? They are talking about gameplay not anything else
It’s hard to judge on looks sometimes since sometimes a game that looks wildly different can feel similar in their gameplay, I haven’t had this happen so often but I know a game that shouldn’t play anything like splatoon as similar-feeling, and considering the basis of foamstars it looks a lot more likely to sorta feel like it plays similarly
I bet it doesn't have motion controls
i hope nintendo sues
Isn't similar enough they have no grounds.
Is it really in a Nintendo Fan's DNA to immediately demand that their favorite company sue a competitor because it has similar gameplay?
@@FrahdChikun Yes. Nintendo is often the same way oftentimes, they usually go after more blatant similarities though.
@FrahdChikun I just want any game with AI imagery to be purged even if it means abusing copyright
splatoon fans acting like splatoon invented payload game modes
What was the original point capture mode then?
@@Chopscrewyyy what, you mean like turfwar? foamstars doesn't even have a turfwar type mode. if you want know tf2 technically was the first game to invent the payload type game mode seen in a lot of other games now.
@@Chopscrewyyy Attack/Defend, King of the Hill, Control Points from Team Fortress 2 (2007).
Though come to think of it, I'm pretty sure COD and Halo had those modes as well in some shape or form. It's an old concept, Splatoon isn't being completely original with Splatzones.
@@FrahdChikunTypical Tf 2 fan having to Say that his crappy Game Did anything first
Rubber Duck for the win! Not sure if it was my internet, but it seems like it blacks out or something at around 45 seconds, so you might want to check that out. Nicely done though! Dropped a like 🙂
Can’t believe splatoon copied foamstar’s rubber duckie push mode 😡 😡 😡
Only slightly related: it's very funny to me how free-to-play has just evolved into the mark of a dead game, lol. Like imagine telling that to someone 10 years ago: that you'll be able to play the biggest games around without paying anything and it's actually gonna suck.
The era of Nintendo unique ip fangames and "fangames" is nigh
I feel like rainmaker would also count for that
Spalo
I thought it was more rainmaker and not tower control
with the tower control logic I guess we should start calling Splatoon a TF2 clone now :s
When people "take inspiration" of Nintendo's IPs (Craftopia, Palworld, Foamstars), it's a compliment and a sign of how influential they are. Such is the Power of Nintendo!
And Tower Control is different from Team Fortress 2's Payload Cart mode.
@@BolicheEdwardKenwayAC How was my performance? Was it convincing?
@@BolicheEdwardKenwayAC Oh, so you were and are performing as well as me? Or are you being sincere?
@@BolicheEdwardKenwayAC Okay then, I have nothing else to add to the conversation if you were being sincere. Just glad I got the answer, I just do not know what that answer means for the nature of our relationship. Are you being nice towards me or are you being mean or are you just making a statement or what? What are you saying with the "All TF2 fans are really crappy and annoying for saying that their games' multiple ideas are the progenitor of all other shooters that came after them" even when what those TF2 annoying fans is not true and is deserving of your intelligent mockery and scorn. I honestly have no idea what you are saying.
I can't wait to play both games on a regular basis
As much as I hate to admit it, I'll probably be playing it when I'll be bored of Splatoon 3, somewhere after finishing Side Order most probably
Aaaaaaannnd is not playing that.
1. I already have my own problem with battle passes in video games
2. Im not getting a Playstation when I already have an xbox, because whats the point?
Would you still have an issue if it was $5.99 and 41+ levels to finish it? I thinks it's pretty consumer friendly, but I could understand if you wouldn't have it either way
The game should be played before saying it sucks because heavily resembles splatoon tho. Maybe it’s even more fun
Foamstars isn't anything like Splatoon 💀💀💀
Foamstars is just a splatoon clone but damn was it fun
Godddd the game feels like it's trying so hard to suck and is succeding at it, A.I. assets, blatantly ripping off a beloved game, micro transactions and just being a bad game
wait the game changed?? i didnt even see
I mean to be fair payload is not a splatoon original concept. Neither is point capture. Those had been around for a long time before splatoon translated them to their game
errm tf2 payload?
Technically, they're not exactly the same because tower control has no defending/offending teams (meaning both teams can move it), you must be on the tower to move it (not near it), and the tower resets back to the starting point if no one's on it (not on checkpoints).
Typical Tf 2 fan having to Say that his crappy Game Did anything first
It feel like smite
Not all of us want to use a mobile gaming processor for games anymore (switch)
Not all of us want to play game that has a premium battle pass anymore (Minecraft: Story Mode Seasons One Episode Six)
@@InkurKeebi w-what? Who plays that
As someone who really doesn’t have any problems with this game when it was announced.

@@TheRealSuperKirby I said nothing about AI. Please read what I posted.
Just gonna share some words that i feel like people need to hear.
I find it funny how people are angry now that splatoon finally has a competitor.
Grow up everyone, we all know this isn't how it used to be.
I've heard people complain about the ranked game modes being "copied" from splatoon.
No, just no.
Splatoon players bout to scream at me for this.(go ahead, you can be angry, i don't mind)
Here's what your "original" game modes are based on.
* Tower control = Push The Objective
* Rainmaker = Capture The Flag[with the flag being in the center and not in the enemy base]
* Splat Zones = KOTH | King Of The Hill
Crazy right? Splatoon actually took inspiration from something else? Ain't no way!
See what i mean? The game modes being copied from splatoon means absolutely nothing, cuz most modes in splatoon aren't even original in the first place.
About the specials.
Yeah, i can see some similarities here and there, fair enough.
However, most of them are too different to be considered "clones"
I've seen people complain about the game being "too bright" making it hard to see what's happening.
Props to you :D
And for those wondering, yes.
If you know about any game modes that share most of the mechanics clams does, definitely let me know and i'll edit the comment :P
(And that gamemode has to have already existed way before splatoon did)
You're trying to be rational to a bunch of fans in a game with a large LGTB+ fanbase. They're not gonna listen lmao
@@FrahdChikun
oh, I am aware that most won't listen.
However, there are those in the community that can actually take in stuff like this without crumbling into a ball and start crying.
I don't really care what people think about the message, that's completely up them.
it's their choice if they want to "listen" or not :P
Should've mentioned this before too.
I think that when the bigger splatoon creators try out foamstars(this will happen btw) they'll be complaining about the game the whole time they're playing which is definitely going to have a huge effect on the splatoon community(spreading the hate basically)
@@SquidgeMusic_another thing to keep in mind is that these are also Nintendo fans. The moment a competent competitor makes the scene they immediately bitch and moan about it. Remember how they reacted towards Palworld's success?
Though honestly I'm not sure Foamstars will be as successful considering Square Enix's losing streak as of late, but we'll just have to see.
