One of?? People that think EVH Eruption is the greatest guitar solo.....A: haven't seen SRV Texas Flood...or B: don't understand what actual music is. Eruption is just a gobbldy gook of Eddie showing off different techniques and sounds that have no rhyme or reason together. Techniqually impressive, but no real musical value. Texas Flood is a free flowing solo in the confines of an actual song with real depth, emotion AND techniqual proficency! And playing behind the back...while singing. Eddie NEVER came close to that!! Texas flood IS the greatest live guitar performance of all time!

I remember reading that Stevie started playing guitar at 7. Years of playing gave him the technique and muscle memory, but those were just the tools with which he channelled the music that lived inside of him. He didn't just play guitar; in a sense he was the guitar, and the guitar was him. ❤

Hey Flawd and Meaux, I was fortunate enough to have met Stevie back in the day when he was playing here in Lubbock. The first time I was in a bar with some friends. His brother and another guy were with him. I don't know who he was at the time. This was a small dive bar and maybe 20 people were in the whole place. They stayedand talked with us for a while, bought us drinks when Stevie ask somebody to bring his guitar in from the car. Stevie got on this tiny stage and belted out a 20 minute guitar solo. He was one of the nicest guys
    I miss him so much.

When he opened for Brian Adams and The Police during their Synchronicity tour, and he smoked 'em both even though The Police put on a helluva show. He returned 2 yrs later after "Texas Flood" came out with The Fabulous Thunderbirds and did a deuling leads with his brother Jimmy for a good 5 minutes during the Thunderbirds set. SRV was a prodigy that was taken far too soon. RIP Stevie ❤️

You can tell Flawd is a Hip Hop / rap guy when he starts a rock video with an epic guitar solo and he immediately asks, "where's my beat?" 😝
It is cool that Flawd and Mo are listening to music outside of their usual playlist though. Adds to the channel a lot.
I think Flawd is better at breaking down and explaining rap music because that's where he's got experience. This music exploration will just expand him and his skills even more.

Well now, wonderful reaction insight to SRV. This isn't just a show, it's a performance by a Master. Many can practice and slave over an instrument to learn to be great. But this has got to be God-given, built in. It all happens so naturally and looks so effortless to him, like the guitar is part of his makeup. Stevie was born to be a remarkable guitarist and could not have been anything else. A phenomenon, a force of nature who has left so much behind in this world, that I think his sounds are still traveling through time. I know that sounds crazy, but I'm certain there's still some magic out in the universe. Anyone who can do a cover of this, the greatest ever written, and pay it respect, and homage to it's composer, while creating originality, is himself, nothing short of a Voodoo Chile.
Both Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray are/were exceptional artists. I'm sure Jimi was inspirational to SRV. Some say Jimi opened he door and Stevie kicked it in. As I was listening, something occurred to me as with many other SRV songs: aside from the bass, how many guitars do YOU hear ? 🤔😏. ☮️to all

Sure, I can play the scales just as fast, i can improvise, I can give it all the hammer ons and pull offs and bends and whammys, I can play the groove and keep time but I still don't sound like him. Even knowing it inside and out and having the muscle memory isn't enough. It's his technique and style that make him so unique, it's just the way he plays there's not much else that can be said

So Jimi had to not only hide his right handed guitar playing, with the strings in the wrong order, but he also had to show progress to his dad, to justify the guitar payments. So he had to learn to play right handed, with the strings in the left handed order, as well as learn to play left handed. And he did.

The past 40 years i have Two.......JUST TWO....Favorite Guitar Players, that played DIFFERENT each and every night!!! You can hear the improv in songs they've done over and over, and wonder how their minds work.....The Two guitar players??? Stevie Ray Vaughan, and since the late 1990's...Derek Trucks! They do things you can NOT teach. Once you think you have their solo down from one show, the next show, you're saying wait, that wasn't what he played the last show?!!! I have other favorites, but those Two mentioned, are in a league by themselves.

SRV played on/off stage all the time, even in a car/cab. The dude worked very hard at it but obviously had a knack for that Fender.

That's probably the most expensive guitar in the world now. The family owns it.
Austin built a statue of him down by our Town Lake not long after his passing. We know the Colorado river is in flood stage (Texas Flood Stage) when Stevie's feet get wet.
Somewhere, somehow he and Jimi are dueling it out and smiling.

👏🙌🎉🪅🎊Great first reaction to a legend🎸🎶‼️. All those notes were never written down to memorize😅💯. The main melody was written in the late sixties by Jimi Hendrix. Stevie never learned to read music probably because music could read him💯. Self taught from age 7, learned by listening to records from the greats. Stevie was incapable of playing the same song the same way twice. Totally free floated each time he strapped in. Watch his Toyko 1985 performance of this song or any version for that matter and you'll see.
Check out his "Life Without You" from the Capitol Theatre 1985 for an original from Stevie that is full of surprises and more awesomeness from the master🎸🎶💯💙‼️

B.B. King, which I seen him twice, B.B. said he played guitar in sentences, B.B. said of SRV, he played guitar like he wrote a book, and then was playing by paragraphs. Even Eric Clapton said, he would rather bow off of stage rather than compete with SRV.! how can you argue with guitar greatness such as these.!

His mission on Earth, was to Spread the Word, while playing his 🎸. He was taken early for a reason.
The good lord listened to his prayer, seeking help , from drugs & alcohol.Stevie found sobriety. His song without you, depicts that, he begins by saying , here's the thing, spread the love..
Today we are blessed, by the likes of , you tube, & people, young & old, reacting to his music.& The response, is off the planet..we all found him all of a sudden , we find out , his brilliant talent, his forever mind blowing technique, on the guitar, we all get a fender Stratocaster, & try to emulate this one of the kind, musician, with killer vibes & eternal feel..love him forever, SRV..my main man!!!🙏🎸🎙️❤️
