I realize this is an older video, But I gotta tell you. That bike is about the most beautiful that I have ever seen. You got the paint/chrome combo just right, (in my opinion). I have a '98 V Star 650 classic, I like the thicker front tire. But otherwise I'm gonna Bob it and your bike is a great model to refer to.
P S, the paint ! FANTASTIC !!!
Thank you very much.
Love the bike, probs the best V Star I've seen! Keep up the vids!
Thank you.
Love your bile Congrats on the mods bud!!!
Thank you.
such a clean and cool custom big brother! keep it up! have a safe ride! :)
Thanks! Will do!
I got a 2000 650 v star. I love it. Your bike looks very slick. Good job man!
Thank you.
@@xjoe81x do you still have it?
@@Sam123QU29 unfortunately no.
very nice! doin a v star myself right now. great job
Thank you.
Thank you very much Robert!!!
Hello Daniel. I got the bike with only 322 Miles on it. So i changed all the fluids myself just to be sure. I am only at approx. 1200 or so miles now. But right around 3000 miles should be a good time to changed the fluids. Don't forget the rear gear oil also.
To be real honest with you Paige I received the bike with the front pegs already on. Front pegs are a personal preference. Any bike shop and on-line carrier will have options for the front pegs. I think the biggest situation will be the placement of the mounting hardware. Since it's a metric bike there shouldn't be a problem with finding what you like and stating your make and model for accurate install. Watch my first videos on the bike, I think I taped the name of my front pegs in my walk around video.
Love them bars
Thank you.
Thank you very much.
LOL Thank you, CarAudioJoe
Looks good boss.
Thank you.
Beautiful bike brother got to let u know
Ty
beautiful bike, i want it!
CassmTv Thank you..,make me an offer.

Well done bike
shilosheena Thank you.
Nice Vette!
Thank you.
Also check out The Hog Shoppe guys. Sometimes I get confused as to where I get everything.
I am 5' 11''. I never rode this bike when stock. The mid aps work great for me.
How tall are those mid apes and where did you get them I'm 5'10 so I need something similar
What rear fender?
@@brandonneil8954 Sorry it came with the bike and the bike has been sold for 3 years by now.
I like they key entry gas cap, if it sat more flush with that tank it would be a bonus though. its pretty incredible how poorly available choices are for handlebar mounted gas guage options that dont involve drilling into the gas tank. certanly a big money market if someone tapped into it.
Yes, all true.
wow tihs is the best dragstar 650 I have ever seen, looking to build one like this one, where can I see more photos?
Thank you. There are a ton of videos about this bike on my channel. As far as photos, no go just videos.
Hi, just wanted to know if you sprayed the handlebar controls black? Haven't seen an XVS650 with black controls.
No. The bike came with black controls. The only thing I sprayed was the brake fluid and tach piece.
I plan on going back and watching some more of your videos but where (or how did you paint) the glove box and battery cover?
The bike came that way. It's from the factory that way.
I can't seem to find oem parts in black but I'll keep looking. If you know a site that has them I'd be much abliged.
does anyone know if you can add an oil PRESSURE gauge to a 2007 Yamaha VStar 650 classic? and if so how to install and where?
That's a very good question and I would love to see one but I have no idea. Sorry
do you have a model# for that oil temp gauge? been lookin for one like that for a while.
No sorry
Yamaha 👍
Yeppers.
Where did you get the oil temp gauge from?
I forgot, sorry, sold the bike 2 years ago.
@xjoe81x I have a question for you what rear fender do you have on your bike I'm looking for one please get back to me
It came with the bike, sorry.
Sup, I know that I'm a lil bit late, but I'm not sure if you still remember, but what is this size of this ape handlebars ? Did you remember where u bought that ?
Cheers from Calgary-AB
They came with the bike and I don't have the bike anymore, sorry.
This is almost EXACTLY what I wanna do to a V Star 650 except I wanna put a smoked out led headlight and have a little different style and suze ape bars. I wanna get 8-10 inch T style bars. You nailed the bike mam, it looks so good! The blacked out look is perfect and that is what I want exactly!
Problem is, I'm struggling to find a V Star 650 and in the right condition, mileage and price. They surprisingly hold their value really well and seem to be far few and between cuz ive only seen about 3 come up for sale within 200 miles of me basically this entire year. I noticed you mentioned Newburgh NY which is where I grew up and I currently live in Monticello NY so I wonder if you've seen any come up for sale and if so what websites do you use to find them?
Well the bike has since been sold. I purchased the bike looking a lot like a bobber already. I used random sites here and there.
Where did you get your forward controls from bike looks great I have a 2015 v star 650 custom
Came with the bike, sorry.
Did those handlebars come with the bike originaly? They really add to the bike. So do the exhaust pipes
Yes they did.
I love those handlebars wish you know the size or where to get them
Sorry.
Hey mate, I know this is an older video. Beautiful bike.
Where did you get the adapter for the cap?
I can't even remember, sorry.
Can you please provide the details of rear fender eliminator kit you used?
I do not have any details sorry. The bike was sold 2 years ago along with everything I had on it.
where did you get your rear fender
Came with the bike.
jst wanting to know where yo got your oil temp gauge from thanks in advance.
sscustomcycles.com
Where did you get your throttle and clutch cable for your apes at

Which web site is that and for what item Dingus?
Really nice bike bro, where did you get the front fender I’m trying to find something like that for mine
It came with the bike originally so unfortunately I do not know.
Okay thank you :)
nice looking bike bro, btw what kind of pipe is that, sound good, and how much cost? did you painted black ? rear fender look so cool and sharp,,what is the website you bought those? thanks bud,,,i appreciate very much your video !
John Gede The pipes are Hard Chrome Double Ds. They came with the bike. I had them re-done in black because they were all rusted.
i've got 650 classic and would love to replace gas cap too - where did you buy yours? what type/model do i look for?
It's bin may years, but try sscustomcycle.com
Hey bud, I just saw this comment and wanted to tell you just like I told a couple of other fellas on here, I picked up one of these off the bay of evil a few months back, but I found it by doing a web search for "Baron Custom Accessories BA-7450U Profiler Gas Cap". Hope it helps.
hey where did you get those handle bars from??
They came with the bike, sorry.
Does this model comes with a fuel gauge? Coz i have no telling what the fuel level is on my v star
No it does not.
Can you tell me where you got the flush Mount gas cap from please?
Sorry, I do not remember.
Badass bike, bars aren't for me but the rest is awesome! I have 07 650 Classic. What gauge is that aft of the aircleaner? Somebody wants to be a hero - make an aftermarket final drive kit for our bikes!!
It's a volt gauge.
@@xjoe81x Nice
Hey man where’d you get the rear fender?
It came with the bike when I purchased it, sorry.
I know that this is an older video, but can anyone please tell me what seat this is?? Thanks
btw, beautiful bike
I think I got it from sscustomcycles.com
do you have a video how to add the tach and a link to that gas cap?
That's a good question. There are a few motorcycle videos. I do not recall.
hey, I'm considering on getting a v-star 650. i was wondering, how tall are you? because I'm 6'0 and was wondering if this bike would be comfortable for my height
I'm just as tall as you and have a 2007 v star and it has been fine for me so far. I have put 1500 miles on it so far.
@@whitelightning3330 i'm 5'2 lol and it suits me just fine. same as a friend of mine, over 6'.. highly versatile bike, very comfortable :)
I have a 2002 v star 650, I'm six feet two inches and I have no problem
What brake and foot pedal mods are those ....love your bike
Thank you. They came with the bike but I have a lot of videos of the bike, I might have mentioned them.
what exhaust is that and where did you buy it at.
Juan Talavera Those are Hard Chrome Double Ds. They came with the bike but the think they have a website hard chrome
Bro is about to sell me propane gas tanks lol
How did you wire the tachometer to the bike ?
If my memory is correct I think it's one wire to the battery and another to a cylinder ignition coil.
hey nice bike I was wondering about your foot pegs I have a 2007 with footboards an I want to change them out for pegs an I cant seem to find them have any suggestions
Paige Kemp I️ have a 2005 Yamaha v star 650 and I️ used Harley Davidson foot pegs and shifter peg. It fits just like a glove.
Do you have a part number for the gas cap? I have been looking forever for a different cap
Thanks man I appreciate it
Where is the info!? I want this!
No Sorry.
Don't have it.
Where did you get the handle bars ?
Came with the bike when I bought it.
Hey dude! Can u tell me about that exhaust? Who makes it? Where'd u get it????? 🤘👍
Double Ds Hard Chrome
Do you know the name brand of that gas cap kit
INgunsItrust No I do not. This web page is a good one and I have gotten a lot of stuff from there.
www.sscustomcycle.com/
Can’t find a oil temp gauge like that any suggestions
I don't remember where I got that from.
What kind of pipes are you running?
Hard Chrome Double Ds
Where did you get the gas cap.
I do not remember, sorry. I used www.bluecollarbobbers.com for stuff.
how did he get all the chrome black?
HUCCI MANE I purchased the bike the way it's seen, all I did was add the gauges and redo the exhaust.
Thank you for the video. Can you give a link of where you have purchased all these goodies, especially tachometer. And is there an instructions manual of how to connect tachometer gauge (install)? Thanks o lot. (Your fan from Russia))
Oleg Q I got these parts a while ago. I do not remember where. The think the Tach is a Baron, they have a website.
where did ya get that seat bro ???
I believe Blue Collar Bobbers.com
Don't know if anyone is still monitoring this thread but I thought I'd see anyway.
I did some research on the flush mount gas cap because I was considering getting one for my 2005 V-Star. For some reason, all the distributors I found that sold these say that they don't fit Yamaha V-Star 650's. Yet here is proof that it does. Weird huh. Something else that seems to be debated online is if these caps are vented. Well, after talking to the manufacture (or the company that puts its name on them - Barons) the caps are supposed to be vented. Sooo… at least that question is settled.
The only question I have for xjoe81x is
After having this on your bike for a while now, have you had any issues with it coming loose or leaking?
No leaking but comes loose from time to time. There is no real way to mount this unless you tack weld it. So what in did was apoxy it and place it down into its position. After time the gas moving around eats the glue and it starts to rattle.
@@xjoe81x Thanks for the quick reply. Yeah I've read several reviews stating the same thing about it coming loose. I also read something about using JB Weld as apposed to the epoxy. I might consider that if I buy the cap. I really like the way yours looks, and the thought of not having to mess with the key at the pump is appealing. Love the bike by the way. I've watched the video a few times and it always stands out.
@@MichaelSmith-js5wq Thank you, there are other videos of my bike by the way, watch then all.
@@xjoe81x Hello again, I just wanted to say thanks for the inspiration. I already installed the gas cap and after some consideration have decided I will buy a tach.
I absolutely love the look and ease of function of the cap. It something so small and simple...YET, seems to make a great deal of difference to me. I used some JB Weld to attach the adaptor so only time will tell if it will come loose, but I highly doubt it. The JB Weld putty I used is supposed be able to repair fuel tanks among many other things and it is super strong.
Once I get my tach, I will try to post you a pic if I can figure it out. Thanks again for the video, it really did inspire me to make a few more changes.
@@MichaelSmith-js5wq Thank you and your welcome. I don't know if you have the time but I have some other videos on the motorcycle on CZcams.
Front forks! What did you do to them exactly? I want the slimmer look on mine.
I purchased the bike that way.
What is the rpm at 90km speed ? Or 100km thank you
I do not know.
Hello friend! how are u? I am Brazilian and I apologize for bad English. your bike is very beautiful. I have a silver 2005 and here in Brazil is unfortunately no longer manufactured.
I liked the RPM meter and marker oil. I want to know how much when you change the oil in your bike, here in Brazil is changed every 3000 Km.
Hug.
7 000 km here, these bikes are kind to the oil
I don't remember, Sorry.
Any idea what ape bars they are
Sorry I do not. Sold the bike 3 year ago.
My dude where do I get that gas cap ? So nice post a link to purchase
It's many years later and people have told me it's no where to be found.
@@xjoe81x thanks for the reply brother ride safe !
Hello old posting. But can you tell me where you bought the gas cap
Sorry I don't remember.
Hey Larry,
I just got this same question a couple of hours ago, and I already posted a comment but saw this and thought I'd state it again just in case you haven't been to this video in a while.
I got mine off the bay of evil, but I know I did a web search and found more than one result. You might try a search for "Baron Custom Accessories BA-7450U Profiler Gas Cap", that's how I found mine. Hope this helps
Hello, what gas cap is that?
A silver one...
I don't remember where I got it.
What exhaust is that?
Hard Chrome DD
Daniel it's not that long ago and I thought I got it from sscustomcycle.com. You can go to there web page and look. I would call them and also ask. If they don't have it then just google oil temp gauge for a motorcycle and look up the images and there is tons of them.
What exhaust is that????
Hard Chrome Double Ds
Where can I find that gas cap 😢
Sorry, it's been a long time, I do not remember.
Very nice mods you made on your bike, love it, even I am more on vintage look, your bike is awesome, check my channel if you will, you'll see what I'm talking about "vintage", I own a vulcan 800 and was looking for a smaller bike hopping it will be lighter, but realize that the yamaha 650 is the same weight as my kawy, so too bad, but anyway, awesome bike once again, like it, take care Bro.
Auto or manual and is it a good first bike
