It could be a younger nucifracoccu that was thirsty and accidentally fell in a river with a strong current or something and drifted for weeks, later when it was washed up onto land, it lost all its leaves which might have caused it to loose its ability to photosynthesize and so it had to eat meat to survive. It may no-longer drink water because it has been terrified for life.
nucifracoccu has water breath while woodlarone has miasma breath so there are also breath similarities
No miasma breath is blue same as water breath but miasma breath has black so means it’s decaying or rotting
It may have been an outcast by the other nuciffracoccu cause it may have decided to be a c@nible and it's whole herd made him leave he also could have been controlled by a parasite that's why it seems hollow inside the reason why it's small because it couldn't find proper water and probably got dehydrated but relied on meat to live but has alot of pain do to the redwoods barely having water but the stream is salt water Wich this one suffered and some others may have done the same making it not alone anymore
Weird thing is that this could be hibernation, because if you look at Nucifraccocu it looks very clean and nice, but if you look at Woodralone it looks super decomposed, and dirty,
this means that the Woodralone hibernates during winter to become the Nucifraccocu, and guess what comes after christmas?, summer, which is literally when was Nucifracoccu was added.
Quick reminder:Nucifracoccu and Woodralone both have breaths.

Maybe woodralone is a dead nucifracoccu, it is in the death Gacha so it would make sense
woodra has alone at the end, while nuci is social.
Woodralone probably was abondeoned at the dessert a dry place so it ate meat if you think about it Nuci is at beaches and lake there’s no lakes in the dessert only a oasis but it must of dried out in the dessert a thrived on meat so when it found the forest it lived there as unknowing creatures came and died by being eaten

woodralone being drift wood makes sense since driftwood is found in water and nuci lives near water
Does anyone not know and see the extra legs between woodralone's back and front ones? and also the claws on the front legs. Not to mention how unnatural it moves?

i have had some theories about this game and one of the main ones ive had is about redesigns. what if redesigns were the creatures evolving, take therolachus, at first they were a smaller less beefy creature, but they evolved becoming bigger and could charge.
I have somewgat similar head canons for ken redesigns being evolution
My theory is that the woodlarone is an much older version of the Nuciffracoccu as it aged like us humans we get shorter and change our body but because of the burns mark and the axe I just think the Jeffs took over and killed everything

They are similar in that they are trees, but other than that, they have nothing in common, so I think they are two different creatures
That is a good theory but I have an idea on how it died and why it looks like that a nuccifrucoco got its body shatter or ripped into pieces and a fungus like you said or a parasite like creature like what some other people said uses the remains as it's outer armor and because the parts were mangled and disfigured so it just made a new form out of its carcass that could be a possible origin of woodralone and that also why it has similarities to nuccifrucoco

Some things you need to know
In woodralone's concept art its stated that the axe on its head is a false axe
If you look at nuciffracoccu's model, the tail is covered in leaves but has a wooden base with even a spike at the end unlike woodralone's model where if you remove the leaves, you get a blunt-ended hotdog shaped tail
Body shape. Here you're talking about body features like the knuckles, long neck and eyes but not accounting the body shape, this also includes the shape of the leaves where nuci has few long leaves white woodralone has multiple small leaves meanwhile for evidence that supports your theory i have one.
If you've done a skin on nuci, you'll notice that there's an underlay of glowing material underneath nuci's woods similar to how theres also an enyity grasoing on woodralone's wood, suggesting that they are similar to para where the body there are in is just a host for life, its just that the parasite or so called fungus in your theory is much more strengthened and revealed in woodralone than it is in nuci
It's just a theory. I came up with it a while ago lol but this kind of dropped my spirit a bit

I see why the theory is appealing, I just have to say that you should explain why you think this or this :
The fungus turning it into carnivore is already something done in COS with Tornir, which you should have explicitly told, otherwise it seems made up
Same goes for the wood created by the fungus. I can agree with that as long as you show why you think that. In this cas, it's because both Lus-Adarch and Tornir get a wood-like outer shell made by a fungus.
Also You could have expanded uppon the fact that Woodralone is a very hellish, or at least death inspired design, while Nucci come from the Summer PARADISE Event, you know, the place where you're supposed to go after you DIED
It's a good video, just keep in mind that when you say something, have an argument/evidence to back it up
