I was 15 years old in 1974 when I discovered Thin Lizzy and in my Fifties when I finally gave FF a good listen. Now I am a big fan. Anyone who doesn’t give FF a chance is missing out. They are the real deal in R&R. I am in my sixties now and still seeking new bands.
I am not an explicit FF fan, however I love Dave Grohl, also Josh Homme et al. But above all I love Phil Lynot and Thinn Lizzy. Last not least, to me the greatest man on a guitar ever and above all was the legendary Gary Moore (and Prince, btw.) I know seems strange. But it is true🎸😎
Mostly agree. In terms of Lizzy, they are the best all and end all for me, and I love all of their guitarists equally. I'm not the biggest Foo fan, but I respect the hell out of them more than any band in music today. They know their roots......rock, punk, metal, funk....et al. And they are not afraid to show it. I'm not the biggest Prince fan...and I know I might sound redundant.....but my God .....he was probably the best MUSICIAN to ever exist. He could play anything better than anyone else
I was there for that show , it was brilliant !!!!!!!! Shouldve seen them in Lisbon this year ( foiled by some stupid virus 😤 ) , next year it is then 😊🤘🤘
Its every persons right to 'like' or 'don't like' whoever but really, the high number of 'don't really like FF's' is a surprise. Grohl does enjoy the 'main man' role and he may 'rattle on' at times but, they're as good as any current modern day band IMO. Lizzy...........well they are the best! Cheers
Dave you know you are a really good human being and that's why i like you. And u like thin lizzy so that's good too. Thanks for being a good person Dave . When u drummed with BSR that was really cool to see cuz I know u don't drum for just anyone.
Wow, that was kinda, really shit. You can't just hack and slash away at Lizzy songs like some one-note bar band. Where's the groove, dynamics and danger? Kinda disrespectful to pull that shit in Dublin imo. Also 3 high gain guitars just slashing at power chords sounds like total ass. Must foo better.
I'm not a massive FF fan but Thin Lizzy were The Best Hard Rock Band Of All Time so, massive respect for at least giving it a go.
The best
Fuckin' A - you got that right!
the best.. Phil was the captain of real and feels.
My thoughts exactly 👍
I love Thin Lizzy...but they're far from the best rock band ever
Watching this today crying over Taylor under my portrait of Phil lynnot. Rip Taylor. This was the best I'd ever seen the foos
Phil Lynott must looking down from rock n roll heaven, and just being blown away by all the bands Thin Lizzy influenced
I see a lot of hate in the comments I don't like Foo Fighters but they are paying tribute to Dublin's finest Thin Lizzy

Thin Lizzy were the best live rock band of all time. These guys did a good job.

You are absolutely right about Prince and Gary Moore. Add SRV to the greatest men on a guitar, then I agree.
@@altaigravitas3128 I'm a Rocker:-) Totally agree. We could add some more, I guess!?

it was brilliant. I travelled so far to see this and it was magic. One bucket item fulfilled x
My hometown DUBLIN 🇮🇪🇮🇪
love the foo, apreciate them loving TL and Phil & Gary , my heroes!!!!
Long live LIzzy!
I’m laughing and crying at Taylor’s Bowie impersonation RIP
Great show it was!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I dont like foo fighters, but i like what they like. They always cover my best. Here covering Thin Lizzy and STP?

Rip Phill Gary and Taylor
Fabulous gig

tremendous rendition of my most hated T|L song - jailbreak, best TL tunes, Sarah, but really I love them all...
That frontman dude looks like the Nirvana drummer from back in the day. Wonder what he ever got up to?
That is Dave grohl from nirvana there both the same thing.
@@jacestephenweatherall1732 There our?
Rip Phill Gary and Taylor

That was some John Lord sounding shit the keyboard player was playing
Pat Smear looks the most unlikely rock guitarist but he’s as cool as hell.
Cool af ! RIP Phil
Gary and Taylor too.
No way this band could carry off "Still in Love with You"
Respect to you
Why did I not go to see them
Fuck sake course I missed em hope for 2020
He was SO pissed at Pat...
I need to stop acting like my opinion is OBJECTIVELY true.
I think Dave could sing "Vagabond...." really well if he tried
As good as The Foo's are, they're not a patch on Lizzys versions.
I don't think they were trying to top him...
@@nade890 i agree, its thin lizzys hometown, i think they were trying to show respect to the greats that paved their way before them!
@@Nellyv1lle yes indeed
Nobody can be as great as Thin Lizzy with Thin Lizzy material.
Bass player was on it
Nate mendal
where is the tribute?
"the rocker" is not even the best song on Vagabonds...
The title track is the albums Masterpiece
Hero and the madman is also amazing
Phil Lynott - I agree. Nice username, btw 😎👍🏼
@@crusheverything4449 thank you!! ☺️
@@blakerdavis yes sir !!!
I realize that is MY OPINION though ☺️
🙈
What songs are they playing?
The boys are back in town
Most of the crowd wont know who Thin Lizzy are
They all will if they are playing in Dublin
No es ese Pat Smears de Nirvana??
Yep Pat smear on the right
Too much blablabla. Noone comes close to Thin Lizzy.
Well, that sucked out loud.
If you can't do it don't play it. What an insult to Phil lynott. I'm 59 and did better at 16. Love foo but damn...
Jesus he loves the sound of his own voice.
Hey Dave, don't play a Lizzy song if you couldn't be arsed learning it first.
Hideous
Why is he swearing that much?! Is there anyone who really thinks it's cool?
Taras Romanenko i think Dave gets away with it, it sounds more comedic imo
It's not. It's juvenile.
How original, they played jailbreak and boys are back 🤦🤦
Hardly gonna write new lizzy song our they hhaha
Really, try something a little less top 40 if you want to respect Thin Lizzy. Try Black Rose. I did say "try".

Agree with you...
Jesus you’re lucky they even payed tribute. This band has put out way more singles than thin Lizzy ever did
They went out of their way to show respect
