honestly this battle was so close, it really came to preference i bet for the judges. Idk maybe not, im not a pro beatbox judge. But it seems that everyone has their preference on what matters in a battle in the comments and community so it makes sense. I personally would go for Napom here but i totally see why River one. I like to think of it like this tho, if it was the Kickback battle format they did a few years back then I think River would've gotten it easy. But in person battle I think Napom was honestly controlling the stage the whole time, and it almost seemed like he went easy on him cuz how much it felt like he was ahead, in person at least.
Okay thanks for reading my ted talk.
I like Remix he's not just a Napom fan boy saying "waaa Napom got robbed" don't get me wrong I love Napom but River was just better as a whole and not just in the battling category. For me repeating same old beats shouldn't be counted, it's an unfair biased form of judging
Rivers rounds were used in previous battles before this as well. Not exactly fresh beats from his side either.
Though I think its their style.
River is also using techniques he's done before, you're too dumb to realise that you have the opposite form of bias just because Napoms beats are so iconic.... LMAO
Napom got more battle power, but river has more control and variation in his beats. So hes a clearly better beatboxer
Whoa crazy
Finally someone who says it right. River was more complete. It's not only a battle, you also have to create music because we like to say Beatbox is music. Well if it is than create music with your tool. And River definately did that better.
i would still give the win to napom i think river had better structure if we think abt mlody and better complexity but still crowd was more into napom he gave more battle vibe and dominant beats
napom had crazy counter and did better than river on that but maybe he messed up in the end of hes 2nd round by talking and he also touched river 2times
im glad im not battling iwould do it kinda like napom abo ice etc. how do u win with a music round its not what we want from gbb tbh but river was too skillful for winning like this in my opinion
yes but river didnt bring that battle energy/mentality in my opinion whereas napom did, its called a beatbox BATTLE for a reason.
@@SpecterUK excactly and napom rounds not compared to him thats how he battles and im mad abt that judges think he didnt show that kind of stuff and they think he was more loose like bruh
River took this for me. As you say, much more rounded beatboxer. More variety, better structure, planned routines and not freestyle, musicality but also high technicality. Napom had energy and power but also lost a lot of energy towards the end of his second round and that backfired one of his main strengths. He couldn't counter River's technicality properly and overall was just more messy and uncomplete for me.
napoms both rounds were battling rounds, while rivers are for showcasing the elements of beatboxing, sure he brought back the "battlers" energy in the second round but it was already too late, Napom had the battling mentality going into the battle, while river couldnt match it, in the rap game, rap battles arent meant to be lyrical and have meaning, they are meant to go at each other and whoever can pursuade more energy from the croud usually wins, being lyrical helps, in beatboxing its the same, river being more technical but lacking in battle energy should be a degrade for him, napom has both elements making him one of the best battlers in the world, Napom wins for me
@@DesireBEATBOX +1. Napom could've matched the "technicality" which is not means to be good or better. He kept it powerful and entertaining for the fans. He could have done something different at the end of the 2nd round instead of the Gene and dam joke but that is the exact reason why so many people love Nape. Most of the sounds River did/doing are not sounding "good" for most of the beatbox fans or at least me. Anyway GG to River. Napom's still Napom.
and the counter by napom wasnt the same. Just look at the reaction of D-Low
He knows everything about beatbox
yeah, the snare patetrn wasnt completely right...
You can't even see dlow react to it, and I think it was either stitch or dlow that said it sounded exactly the same live
@@exit9b150 And Remix from South Africa said it wasn't exactly the same... so
@@ezzycovers Thats not my point, hes pointing out d lows reaction but his reaction isnt even shown, and even if it was shown he wouldn't react negatively as many people said it sounded the same LIVE in person
rawr
When napom explodes,...... he seems to get put out too quickly, my man is a beatbox beast, acknowledge him!!!🤨
7:00 faz um tutorial dessa tecnica, por favor?... queria muito aprender
You can see napom round 1 show he control to the last beat
I see the vocal coaching has paid off for River.
I see why, but I can’t see.. it is a battle solo category, the final… not sure riven structure was as good.
Napom was free to do whatever, it works. +counter and his second round 00:40 was the killer… the joke was good but the drop was weak, but that’s okay because the rest of the round he destroyed him.
😊😊
Let's not get this wrong - battle was dope. But I honestly feel like you could've taken the cake, Remix.
Nah he's not allowed. Swiss must feed the OGs with achievement first.
No matter what anyone says, for me Napom will always be the best bro ✨💯🫶
no matter what you say. river is actually the CHAMPION!!!!!
hello champ
NaPoM is on his villain arc!!! 😂
River was amazing,very clean and direct,but napom..oh my god this man is amazing,the liprolls..what a power..esh
But a battle is a battle, and for me river won,it was very very clean and from 2019 he improve a lot his style, big up to river
'battle is a battle' 'river'
I thought GBB stands for grand beatbox BATTLE…
But anyway first of all it's a battle , so Napom should've won for sure imo
a beatbox battle, the random jokes were entertaining ig but took too much time
Right
I think it was good though
go sleep san cous. that will be better
napom got robbed
I never understood why people thought napom shouldve won this. Could he have? Indeed. I had him winning for the 1st round. 2nd round river's really pulled it ahead. And the last 30 seconds of napom's round killed the vibe. And besides, both of them did repeat beats, but at this point, napom has repeated beats from literally almost a decade ago which when they came out were a huge hit, but at this point it just seems like pandering to the audience. The counter done by napom wasnt even the same, and ik he said so by making a joke "thats exactly it" it had the energy of a counter and it seemed to work but the more you think about it its nowhere near the same. Its just fast liprolls. I liked napom's first round much more than river's because it was musical but still had battle energy. The 2nd round was a landslide for me and im guessing for the judges too.
Even if you take away the "biased" votes, its still 1-1 where skiller voted for river and dlow for napom. It couldve gone either way. It just went how it went.
And i love napom as an artist. Im not a river fanboy and do think that river shouldve stopped at hiss last gbb and not gone to finals. But this battle shouldve and did go to river, so dont cry about it.
Ps i dont think napom shouldve made it past wing. The only reason he did is because he won the coin toss. Its fair game, but imo wing shouldve won that. You can call me a wing fanboy cuz i probably am. If wing wouldve went second he wouldve had the last counter and easily swayed a vote
I like the way you explained it, though I disagree on the napom second round.
It was a killer, you didn’t felt it with River.
Especially the 00:40 was “secret weapons” kinda Ultimate skill:)
That killed it.
The joke was good in the end though the drop was soso…
Whatever people say about the style of GBB23 and Napom's history of freestyle-like structure, I really felt like this GBB had the highest level we've ever seen. I honestly think this was also peak Napom.
Don’t get me wrong I absolutely love river but I think napom deserved the first place
This is a battle and Napom definitely was the winner of this battle. Even In 2016 he could win the battle against Kenny urban but idk why they didn't choose Napom
Napom win
GBB stands for the Grand Beatbox *Battle* , so Napom won this one.
Agree to disagree i guess
@@nebojsavelickovic5388 👍
River had 2 random tempo drops rather than time switches which is what was Intended. Also his tech was to intense for himself and he lost a lot of listenable musicality by changing sounds too much in a single phrase instead of blending sounds to make a more enjoyable track. It was very technically good but not pleasant to listen to. And that's a big part of judging. Hence why codfish won because everything he did sounded amazing to the ears
easy win for River. Napom should not have even be in finals in the first place, funny his fanboys are talking about a "robbery"
sounds like a river fanboy to me
Sounds like river fucked ur sister
Wing > Napom
For me napom is stronger
Last I checked this was called grand beat box BATTLE. FUCK I CARE ABOUT THE STUCTURE????
Sure, who needs good structure. Just battle with some shitty timing and screw complexity ( I didn't mean napom, but your point is flawed)
@@Yvonne_Eclipstiming and complexity are lot related to structure. Still get your point tho, structure also counts, but it’s not a track you upload on spotify, it’s a battle on a stage, not the same thing
Don't get me wrong bro but this is totally wrong..
Nepom should be 🏆 winner.
Coz I seen this video over 100 times
river didnt even battle , it just felt like a showcase
Napom clearly won. i said it once and i say it again. Over the last years GBB got worser and unfairer. sad
Its one of the reasons why you see champions not competing again once they win.
All respect to River and his beatboxing abilities, but he was given the win because it was his first one.
In terms of musicality and being more complete, river took the cake.
But this was a battle, and napom won every aspect of it.
That's my opinion. Love them both.
@@its_kc7088 i totaly agree with u.
i had always the question if u could go another GBB when u won. like when u won solo u go next year solo again.
And it would be so nice to see a solocompet. with all the winners.
Napom robbed, he have more energy , he makes some new combinations , River have a lot of unique sounds , maybe its simply too much but this is his style , Napom for me winner of this battle ( more powerful sounds , groovy some etc. )
Robbery in a daylight 😪
the robber is your fa...er
robbed tbh
Napom all day, rivers pitch was well off, def not a singer..BB is about Battling, Napom secured that.
