Chief Wiggum was noticeable smarter and more aware when he first threatened Mayor Quimby. He certainly reverted to full moron quickly though

It's corny, but I just really the scene at 1:02. Like Homer didn't have to walk over and ask anything but he was just that curious. And Wiggum could have just ignored him since he's is a cop and they ARE arresting someone, but he was just really friendly with him. It was cute :3
Also later in the episode (and this video) he asks Homer to bring the auto dialer to court as evidence, doesn't that mean the original criminal has no evidence as they don't have the auto dialer

Such an underrated character
Early Simpsons literally destroyed and mocked all American society. But 5pm every Thursday at the dinner table as a 90s kid this was WAYYYY better than church. I'll never forget my Dad laughing so hard at these jokes like I do now. Let's face it... Most cartoons are not made for kids.
