I got this game on Kickstarter and I've gotta say I've had fun everytime I've played it including solo mode.
If you play solo mode at all thats kinda sad

The rule book is hard to understand but this video is great! Also since I was the watching the video and explaining rules person at the table, I used the collect four of a symbol strat and won the first game 👀👀 yee yee
Just bought it. Rulebook wasn't doing it for me so I remembered this video and came to let you teach me.
Thank you SO MUCH! The rule book of this game is the worst I've ever seen. We were couldn't make sense of it. Having already gone over it and attempting to play, this makes so much more sense! I'll be watching your game play-through later. I know we will eventually want to add in the Allies and Adversaries but will first attempt the main gameplay first. Thanks again!
Just played through the Stormlight Archives expansion (I wish I knew the lore there, but the primer does a decent job giving an overview so I'll need to check it out), and the solo play is a pretty good way to teach yourself the game. Plus the story creation is great for overcoming writers block.

When you said "That's right!" I literally had no idea what was going on because of autoplay.
Seems cool, but jesus do these rules seem confusing and convoluted.
cannedcream These quick overviews are always bad to try to understand the rules. And I don’t mean bad as in her explanation or the production, I mean trying to really learn the game in this short of a time is impossible. I watch these videos just for an overview, not to really try to understand the game in detail.
cannedcream just got it for Xmas - it’s super easy to follow and really fun to play!
Playing the game is best for learning, these vids are good for basic instructions

I just want to point out that that moment at 7:54 when she says "Lawful Good Becca" really shines when the subtitles are on. Laughed out loud for real, I love that kind of humour.

The rules as written that come in the box are virtually useless. As always, your videos are extremely helpful and entertaining.
There’s some minor details even the video isn’t clear about so you have to utilize both rules and video.
Like that white dragon head set piece on the right bottom corner. Looks like it is acting as Becca's guardian.
Any idea where that's from it looks really cool
Can you only gain one trait or challenge card during your turn? I'm finding an imbalance (too powerful) of acquiring all three cards in an act in my turn
From what I have seen yes, only one trait or one challenge per turn, if you find none of cards you want, then you choose journey in which you use experience token to get rid of card and replace with new one(is also once per turn). Do keep in mind using journey doesn't end your turn and only picking trait/challenge does

I've played the game ten times as of this evening, and still finding that there ambiguities in the rules. So am still trying to figure out different things each time
@@nf9397 I do like the storytelling concept and this game seems to fix an issue where both casual and competitive can play this game (for casual to play to build his story arc and for competitive for point focus)
Wingspan also does something like that (with score board for competitive and for casual, plus I like bird facts)

what happends if you used a card that gave you extra runes or you used a dark rune, and then someone uses a card that makes you attempt again. do you use all the runes you used?
Also if a card says you can try again and use a dark rune, does that make you dark? or it doesnt cuz it was a card that gave you the rune?
I believe attempting again you wouldn't keep the extra tunes, and for the second part of your question, a dark rune is a dark rune
At three runes you unlock the "special" rune that allows you to gain the hero/antihero cards and experience tokens. If you have extras it's you don't get to add them to your rolls.

@@-e6195 I think because it's a separate instance, a new attempt, the extra "disposable" runes wouldn't carry over. Just like if you attempted a challenge on your next turn you wouldn't keep those runes

I watched the game the game episode where they were talking about childhood secrets and stuff, and I can tell you Becca is not lawful good 👹
Viewers will get overwhelmed by the complexity and not see the point. These videos should include a part where people say what they like about playing the game. What makes it special? I like the art and the little stories. Our favorite game, though, is Magic.
But Becca cheats on Game the Game so doesn't that make her an anti-hero?

I dnt like d & d bc its too much imo but i love settlers of catan and this looks fun, with magic u have to stay up to date with the cards and lore to have a relevant deck. I want a real cones of dunshire tbh (parks and rec reference)

My IQ for this game is about a 2. I see zero point to this game…? Perhaps it’s my lack of imagination… my kid wants me to play and we don’t know what we don’t know
Each destiny card has its own way to gets points and there’s a common way. Sum both and whoever has highest wins.
Good info. I have never been a fan of the quirky redhead announcer though. :(

Please don’t. It’s a horrible awful game. I was so bored playing it that I can’t wait for it to be over and it just drags on and on endlessly. Finally I won the game but the only joy I got was that that awful experience was finally over.
