This was an antique store find. It was icky. I sanded off the old paint, stained and shellacked the wood and cleaned up the Spencerian number 42 nib. The ink is Visconti blue.
Loved the video and specially the holder, I've searched it a lot but I didn't find it available to purchase. If you know website or store where the same holder available please can you let me know? Can I ask you if you let me buy yours instead? I know it's rude to ask that I'm really sorry, it's just I can help my excitement. I really really want to have it. I swear.
The style he's writing in is called Spencerian script, which was the predominant method of handwriting in business until the mid-1800's. Yes, you can learn it! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spencerian_script
It's truly a shame this type of lettering is no longer part of standard education...such beauty. You did a beautiful job! I especially enjoy the demonstration of the flourished bird. I would love to see videos describing how these techniques are executed (to accompany the visual). Naturally I write in a manner not so different from this demonstration. It was after someone, whom had observed an envelope I addressed on a greeting card, asked my Mother if I would write out "The Lord's Prayer" for them in my "handwriting" so they could frame it. I don't know calligraphy, but I purchased a dip pen set (Speedball Collector's edition in the rosewood box) and it had an accompanying 'how to' book for beginners. I decided to try and make it very nice, since this lady wants to hang it on her wall. I'm not altogether sure how to go about it, but I have been looking through the booklet and have discovered your channel to learn how to use the pen(s). (Pt 01/02)
Do you know how to do the lettering that resembles the lettering in the Book of Kells? (s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/236x/dd/25/c6/dd25c6b342a9debac2a98c0013ae8058.jpg).
Yes, the lettering is called insular script and is typically done with an italic nib en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Insular_script . I really like Pilot Parallels for italic scripts. Good luck with your project!
I nearly died watching it, how amazing it is!
I am speechless it’s just beautiful and amazing..!!! 😍😍😍😍😍🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
This is the best penmanship porn I've seen in a while...

Ishfaq Shah try jetpens
It's an antique so it's not something where there's a set store to buy it, search around on ebay I think would be the best bet.
Where can i buy one exactly like this one?
What font/style are you using? I really like it and want to learn it. Would you show a full alphabet, upper, lower, and numbers?
Leeann G It is Spencerian, more or less.
my nibs are always so scratchy, my dip pens anyway, though they are hobby lobby ones so i am not sure how they hold up
A stick with a dip nib is soooooo much cheaper than fountain pen. But you gotta dip every 2 words. Lol
Is this a particular handwriting style that can be learnt or just your own unique technique?
Amal Shah you just write and write and you will end up making your own way
it's like a "Copperplate" style.

2:46 Don't know what that letter is, but damn, it is awesome.
.....its a capital "S"......................silly.

What nib is that?
Fonts on Microsoft word aren't Better than this
oh god your name xD i Love The ink pun
What script is this? It doesn't quite look like Spencerian.
It doesn't look like Spencerian because I suck at it LOL
@@theinkluminati7802 Well it looks great, even if it doesn't quite match what you're going for.
"Crappy calligraphy"??? Seriously?
Aik Aam Aadmi you are an idiot!
The channel used to be called "Crappy Calligraphy by an Idiot." The OP was giving him a compliment by saying the title is inaccurate.
Why do people use the word PORN with PEN?
ugh
More a work of art then script. Awkward to right with. Glad Louis Waterman invented the refillable fountain pen.
the channel is called crappy calligraphy... HAH
