Just stated in Cabin #6. Number 5 has the best views, but. 6 was good with easy path to the cliffs for the amazing sunrise. Nice video blog. I read your written guide and three things were different. Traveling in late August there was no such thing as free wine tasting at the winery. The Alelele creek was dry, disappointing, and the trail back to the falls was not accessible. Also. The pools at the National Park don't seem to be accessible for swimming, ever. The fence and rusty "No Swimming" sign seem to be permanent fixtures. Prayers for you as you and Joe's ohana recover from the terrible tragedy in Lahaina.
Mahalo for posting this video, well done. I've lived on Maui for almost 7 years and have yet to stay at one of the cabins. I'll be reserving one for this "summer". ❤ Aloha!
Thank you for posting this! I'm going in 2024 and am obsessing, of course. Can't wait to stay in Hana. We plan to take the back way as well. We've done the road to Hana many times. I've never done the back road. :)
You'll love your stay at the cabins, its not everyday you get to wake up on one of the most beautiful beaches on Maui. Jess also wrote a detailed guide about all the best stops on the back road to Hana which is linked in the description if you need ideas on what to do. Cheers and Enjoy.
Awesome video! Thanks for posting. We are thinking of staying at the cabins for 1-2 nights (pending reservations of course!) during the 1st week of October this year. Any idea how hot and musty it would get during that time? Especially at night? Traveling with my twin 4 yr olds, wife and parents (who are 75+).....any concerns with accessibility etc.?
October will be a bit cooler than summer for sure, as for musty, the cabins get cleaned and I’ve never encountered that. This video was filmed in October actually and I think it’s one of the best months for a Hana adventure! Hope you get reservations. Enjoy!
No, those are all items you’d have to bring yourself. Jess wrote a detailed guide of everything to expect when renting cabins (linked in the description) to check out if you have anymore questions. Cheers.

Amazing! Have the best time
I had read about those cabins. Thank you for showing them, including the number of beds and the grill. Plus good to know it has the basics.
Youre welcome. We love the Waianapanapa Cabins. Our favorite place to getaway on Maui. I swear we do our best thinking there 😌

@@JessandJoe thanks! I got reservations for 2 nights! Super excited
47 years ago these cabins were most definitely not classy camping. Take it from an old guy who stayed there while bike touring the island. 😅
Linens, pillows, shampoo, soap?
No, those are all items you’d have to bring yourself. Jess wrote a detailed guide of everything to expect when renting cabins (linked in the description) to check out if you have anymore questions. Cheers.
Do they have internet?
No, these cabins are like classy camping. Service is also spotty but most come to the cabins to disconnect in nature.
Thank you very much!
