The proposal moment made me bawl my eyes out because I suddenly thought (no doubt prompted by the Holy Spirit), how much indescribable joy must it give God to watch his children get engaged 🥺🥺 I feel like I got a glimpse of how absolutely and utterly happy it made God to see that - you guys are beautiful! I just started watching your channel a day or so ago. I was thinking to myself, "Gabe Poirot," that name sounds familiar. Then it clicked. I had seen him talk about his book on the Charlie Kirk show, and I bought it a while ago. The book is called "Built Different" for anyone who is wondering. Small world I guess. Oh my gosh. Came here to say not only how BEAUTIFUL this God story is (and I also love your authentic desire for people to know Jesus through your testimony and how it just so passionately exudes from you!!), but also it's really crazy because my husband and I have basically the SAME STORY except a bit of a longer timeline haha!!
So many parallels even in the details...
- Both super content being single and pursuing Jesus
- Didn't wanted to rush into anything less than God's best for me
- Made a "list" before I met my husband
- We connected through DMs (he also reached out first), I also "ignored" after the first one but he persisted and his questions seemed genuine :)
- Our first video call, he'd sent the invite through a GOOGLE CALENDAR (so formal hahaha) and said "Alex/Grace get-to-know"... which confused me so much because I was like, either he's really trying to clearly friendzone OR he's interested and trying to cover it up 🤣
- We ended up talking about so many deep things about each other because of long-distance
- He ended up flying over to meet me for the first time IRL (I was in Australia, he in California)
- Fast forward, we've been married for 2.5 years :)
And I could NOT agree more with your message here. If you are waiting on God for your future spouse... GOD SEES YOUR HEART. HE CARES FOR YOU. He KNOWS your desires, and he has nothing but the BEST in store for your future.
Keep focusing on God, finding your contentment and satisfaction in him, and genuinely pursuing him... and lean into how he's molding and preparing you for the EXACT right timing he knows is BEST for you and his greater Kingdom purposes!!!
Part of the journey of waiting is getting to REALLY learn how to surrender to God, so that the blessings he gives us don't end up becoming our idols or having control over us!
You will look back without regret, KNOWING that you trusted God instead of took things into your own hands (which robs God of opportunities to lavish you with gifts that are SO FAR BETTER & BEYOND what we could ever "force" ourselves).
Because that's EXACTLY how both me and my husband feel. And Ally and Gabe as well :)))
