- Extreme up close tornado in Madill Oklahoma on April 22, 2020. This tornado damaged town structures and lofted trees into the air before transitioning to a rope phase. Many people observed a rainbow with this tornado. Moments after the tornado struck, the sky was blue and sunny. Unfortunately it was reported that at least one person has lost their life from this twister.

Am I the only one thinking wow CZcams actually recommends something that’s happening now and not 5 years ago💨
Yea, what's up with that? CZcams and current event in the same sentence.
If I go through my computer youtube recommends new stuff, but from my phone or tablet is always very old shit.
It's because it's on trending
Wowww that's actually quite a thought!!
@@Diego_Borges I've had an account on the computer since 2008, the new algorithm just sucks ass regardless of what platform you use. Hey, you know those 400 people you're subscribed to and went through the effort of putting the bell on for every single one? Well, never mind that nonsense, here's a video from 9 years ago, watch it again!
My thoughts through this video:
"Why is he so close?"
"Why isn't he driving away from it?"
"Why is he driving _towards_ it?"
Usually when other storm chasers do this they start talking real fast and become annoying because their Adrenalin overwhelms them.. but not Hank .. he is so calm .. its amazing
We would def be thinking that me and you but its what they do lol
i wonder what it would be like to drive into a tornado
watch all of his videos. hes been doing this for sooo long that it wont scare him anymore.
I felt like God was actually flirting with him.

There's something particularly eerie about being right under a tornado while half the sky is still clear

It’s crazy to see this video, nearly 3 years after that tornado hit. I lived in Madill at the time with my husband and our children. I had just picked them up from the daycare center when the tornado started to form. My husband called me and told me to come to Steel and Wire for shelter. I rushed there, parked my black Tahoe on the scales, and we rushed down in to the shelter that was under that building. It was like a freight train went over the top of us. I remember a truck driver coming in with a wounded hand, pouring blood, and I doctored it for him as best as I could. I worked at Atwood’s at the time too.
he's simply the best, doesn't ruin his videos yelling "OMFG ITS RIGHT THERE" and always is in the right spot! P.S. the blue sky alongside the tornado were crazy to look at!
Great! footage
Idk how he's getting that close , and doing this, idk if it's the cameras or what?
Experienced storm chaser with commercial grade radar and wx equipment as well as planning. Still extremely dangerous though. He's also probably using a telephoto lens like the ones paparazzi use for celebrities to catch them at airports getting off their private jets.
Hey your talking about the man the myth the legend Reed Timmer
Yeah like some loud mouth dipsh*t timmer
Well.. That literally escalated quickly... from "dust devil" to "let me relocate your roof" in 45 seconds!
That's why sometimes a lot of people die because the tornadoes hit so fast and hard that they have little time to get into shelter.

I know that tornadoes are serious matters, and all weather should be taken seriously but you had me f*cked up with that.

My dad worked at that OK Steel and Wire building for 13 years when we lived in Ardmore. It is incredible to see you so close to it and capture how something stationary for so long can be destroyed within a couple seconds. Also, all that gray stuff coming off the warehouse roof, is just years and years of accumulated dust 😂
glad to know no one was in there

DeNature Kat Well that’s one way to dust a house. Lol
I figured that it had to be dust, a place like that isn't likely to have blown in insulation.

That's how you get the best shots. Hank knows what he's doing, he wouldn't be alive if he didn't. But still, he is putting his life on the line. I've watched a bunch of videos from chasers of this afternoon's storms, and some were pretty good. But none come even close to this video. Because the other chasers don't get close and personal with the tornadoes. :-) I use to love watching the late Kelley Williamson. He was like Hank, would drive into the outer circulation of a tornado. Loved his live streams. And no, his death was not storm related. RIP Kelley.
All that shit fell on the machine my uncle works at to and he would have been there if it wasn't for my aunt Making him come home cuz he was still welding causing him to notice the nader from the parking lot and Calling a Friend that's inside telling him to get everyone in the celler cuz it was bout to hit and it hit right when everyone got in and my uncle sped off and if Hank looked to the right and when he was facing right the nader was in the way and you would have probably seen him driving but the semi with the electric wire on it he said was he was basically racing it to get away when the wire hit it idk how it all went tho but i could definitely hear it from my house but couldn't see it sadly

Hope everyone's doing good.
Typically tornadoes will follow in one direction, so if you can gauge which way it's heading, you're safe if you stay perpendicular to the direction it's heading. This isn't always foolproof, however, as we've seen from El Reno. It's rare, but tornadoes can shift path, which has cost weather-chasers their lives. Still, Hank is pretty nuts. I've always wanted to get close to some big tornadoes, but NEVER this close. All it takes is one stray plank, piece of straw or sheet metal to hit you at missile speeds and you're toast.

@@PenguinPlaysGames229 lmao so true, I wasted an expensive movie ticket on that one 😂
My uncle works at steel and wire in madill Oklahoma where a tornado hit on the 22nd of april and if it weren't for him more would be dead bc he was outside bc he was leaving bc my aunt wanted him home and he seen it was accross the Street and so he called his work buddy and had him get everyone to the celler and about the time everyone got in there the tornado struck the building and where he was just at (the machine he runs) was covered in metal and nobody new it was just outside my uncle thought it was just a test and kept welding then my aunt called and so yeah
People would have died I'm that if it wasn't for my uncle
Yea it does remind me of the mummy movie, and the mummy was fricking awesome! (not the one with tom cruise......)
Pesos Hank: *chases the tornado*
Tornado: *chuckles* I’m in danger
*Pecos
Hahaha! 😂 That mental image is going to be stuck with me for a while now 😅
“Pesos” 😂😂😂👍
Yea tornado better run away from pecos
WHAT THE HELL THE LIKES
Wow! Just the strength and energy from these storms are incredible! There's also a 🌈!
This is not just chasing you actually caught this one damn that was to close
he knew the approximate location of the storm and was very lucky to be right next to the twister when it touched down. it must be those years of chasing tornadoes that gave him that hunch. great job Hank
This just shows you how fast a tornado can cause destruction from the moment a warning comes out :/ stay safe everyone!

Makes me glad I live in Florida. We never see tornados in the Southernmost part.
@@joellebrodeur1015 Nah. But hurricanes are your tornadoes.

Hey Phineas!
Hahaha
You know he is white 😂
This is a mid west kinda situation
That tornado was quite literally on top of him and he captured it without panicking or flailing about. Pecos Hank is the best in the business
Didn't look like much when it started. I thought: "Aw. Just a liddle dust devil" ..... then the roofs came off.... 😱
Not all tornados are what they seem. Some large terrifying looking tornados can only be ef0 whilst some ones that look like that can be deadly. However with that it had so much debris that my imidiate thought was that it had to be more than Ef 0 and then also because it is mostly clear you can clearly see the rotation and it was very fast and idk something about it in the start screamed powerful tornado. Like I first thought that this was the start of some powerful tornado and that it had just touched down.
Also a lot of powerful tornados can start looking like dust devils.
If it wasn't for my uncle people would have died in that including his best friend My uncle works at steel and wire in madill Oklahoma where a tornado hit on the 22nd of april and if it weren't for him more would be dead bc he was outside bc he was leaving bc my aunt wanted him home and he seen it was accross the Street and so he called his work buddy and had him get everyone to the celler and about the time everyone got in there the tornado struck the building and where he was just at (the machine he runs) was covered in metal and nobody new it was just outside my uncle thought it was just a test and kept welding then my aunt called and so yeah
I don't trust Dust Devils anymore, We saw them all the time in rural Australia and as kids it was a fun thing to do to just run into them. I've seen them so big they would shake my 4WD and you could still spot them 10 minutes off in the distance. I didn't think it was possible for them to physically lift a human off the ground but god damn, they're rare but they can.

Guy in Oklahoma: Think I'll drive into a tornado today
Yep that's how it is down here you sit on your porch and watch it go past your house
Having lived in OK for most of my life- and having a few (mostly funnels)- it is something of a sport here. With those of us not influenced by 'buzzwordy tv weather clowns, that is. Guess it's just too amazing a sight to not look. That said, would not have been me driving to the inflow edge. A mile or so back is just fine. ") Cool damn video regardless....
Yep I like to sit outside and watch

Bud.
This is the best tornado footage I've seen in a long time. I was expecting that traffic light to become a flying projectile but I was amazed that it stayed green. The dying tornado and rainbow was a good shot together.
merry christmas pecos hank ty for all your weather chasing vids there awesome!😇❤️
I've watched almost all of your stuff and I must say this is probably the best tornado footage you've ever published. Wow that was neat. I hope no one was seriously injured. Sounds like your car picked up a few dents and dings on this one.
Unfortunately 2 have died and one is critically injured
@@ConnersCaptures That is horrible, I'm sorry to hear that. They are beautiful from a distance, but deadly up close...
Aswell as the people I always think of the animals these beautiful but deadly storms create. The livestock, people's dogs and cats etc... horrible to hear about and think about
