    The survival walking stick is nice and would come in handy for anything, walks, hiking, camping etc. The split blade dagger looks like a tool we use to fix ball marks on the green of a golf course except it is a lot more deadlier. Loved the video !

    I have been purchasing wooden T-ball bats I find at yard sales and modifying them by reshaping the tip into a cone and adding a leather grip. That gives it added effect in a thrust.

    I love that walking stick! Well thought out, it looks strong and it's light. The handle would give you excellent stability and the 39" length is a good average. Lots of room for storing a fire starting kit and some fishing line and hook. Add a light backpack and you good for a days hike or an overnight. As a weapon, for Wednesday, I like the whackitty-bonk that you showed first. I would probably prefer that it have a larger/heavier pommel. However, I wouldn't want it to be pointed or sharp.

    The firestarter is called a ferrorod or ferrocerium rod in other countries it's known as a meshmetal rod, people confuse it with flint, flint is a type of hard rock that you use with a high carbon steel striker (fun fact, you can also use the spine of high carbon knives,) the flint shaves of micro pieces of metal that oxidize very rapid that is an exothermic reaction that result in an ember that you load into a "birds nest", people also confuse " flint" lighters, which s just a very tiny ferrorod. I thought the survival walking stick was silly until a imagined myself in a situation where I lost my cane (I walk w/a cane) in a running river or whatever. This being broken down is easy to carry for a backup and having the survival items is always a good idea. Same goes to those who do not walk with a cane, break a leg or even twist an ankle and you'd be grateful to have it in your backpack.

    Some really unusual ones this week guyz. It is hard to pick a favourite. The walking stick was pretty cool, if James Bond had a walking stick it would probably look like that? The coin purse was a mad one. Did you know that Asian Indians did a similar thing to a scarf for a defence weapon. My fav I guess would be the walking stick, but it's a close one, they were all brill.

  • @VTPSTTU
    @VTPSTTU Před rokem +1

    Thanks for the video!
    The polypropylene mini slugger would make a great introductory club for Indian swinging club workouts. Someone who wants to get them for that purpose should get a pair of them. When I'm ready to move up in weight on my swinging clubs, I might get a pair fo them and then cover the ends with something to add weight. That might make them even less legal to carry, but for home use for swinging club exercise, I think a pair of those would be great.
    I'm a big fan of push daggers. I ordered a smaller one, and it's okay. As with many of the small ones, the handle stem is shorter than I would like. If I get an urge to experiment, I might even cut off some of the back part of the blade to give my fingers more room. This push dagger looks nice. I'm not a fan of the split the blade. If a strike straddled a rib, the blade might be caught on the rib instead of passing to one side or the other as a regular push dagger would do. Even so, the other ergonomics of this push dagger are great.
    The coin purses are clever.
    The neck knife is a nice little neck knife. A neck knife really isn't my thing, but I think this design would work very well. I agree that the breakaway chain is a better idea, but someone could use paracord if that were his or her preference.
    The outdoor survival walking stick is interesting. There's a part of me that doesn't like anything complicated for a survival situation. I worry that the threads would strip if one had to do any serious striking with that thing. The bottom would be fine on soil but would slip terribly on rock. On the other hand, the different tools could be useful. If one found some solid and straight branches at one's destination, each tool could be strapped to a branch. Suddenly, the user would have three spears for three different purposes. The waterproof, hidden, storage spaces would also be good for keeping first aid supplies.

    I’m a disabled vet and use a walking cane. I’ve looked at a few of these survival/ self defense canes online but I’ve never bought any. It’s just to much money on something that I may not even be able to use. I’ve got a few of my own concepts that are designed around wood carving and having a couple knife blades and the handle is a carving axe and or carving axe/curved bowl adze combo. The knives would be kept in a hollow shaft of the cane.

      First off, thank you for your service to our country! That means a lot to me. I agree with you on the walking stick. It's definitely more of an outdoor walking stick than a walking cane, so I would be concerned about it not working correctly for you too. You might want to consider designing your own with the ideas you have. People might really like that! I hope you have an excellent week!

    I like the concept of the survival stick. If I were to purchase one I would upgrade the tools with better. But the concept is sound. My opinion: I think you should put forth all your obviously great energy into weapons with greater efficacy (for the most part) and have the people working for you expend greater energy in research and background information of said weapons.
    When I first saw your videos I did not care for them but after watching a few I realize my mistake. I see now that as you can not research everything yourself you need to ensure your employees do that job for you. You do present some good products, further, ones that can be improved by individual purchasers with little effort. I also like that you give honest caveats as to whether a potential buyer should obtain specialized training with regards to use of an item before use. This exhibits a degree of honesty, integrity and professionalism rarely seen in todays' business environment. Your enthusiasm is quite refreshing.

    • @Karatemart
      @Karatemart  Před rokem

      Thank you so much! You are absolutely correct…the reason I’m able to give fair and honest reviews of the products is because Amanda prepares them prior to the video so that I don’t know what they are. The only problem with that approach is that I’m limited to my own knowledge of weapons and the research Amanda does. But, I think it works out pretty well for the most part and when I don’t know something about a weapon, I research it after the video so that I know more about it in the future. Thanks so much for your support! I really appreciate it!

    With the survival walking stick how long are the tangs on the knives? I've always been facinated by "gadget canes" aka "system canes" the antique ones are well out of my price range but that one has potential

    • @Karatemart
      @Karatemart  Před rokem

      That’s an excellent question, and I really should have showed it on video because it’s a little confusing to explain. The blades are welded into a short threaded rod that can be screwed into and out of the cylinder that becomes part of the cane. They are made that way so that it can be collapsed down to such a small size. So, the tang is extremely short, but still fairly secure. They would hold up for most survival tasks, but they definitely have their limits because of that. Awesome question, brother!

    I actually have a couple of coin pouch slapjacks, including a couple of different types, kinda neat, and definitely not obvious as a weapon when it's on your belt. Still, it's a pretty niche weapon The walking stick looked interesting though the blades look kinda fragile at the connecting point, and I can't help but be concerned that they might bend or snap if they hit something a bit harder than a pumpkin. Also not sure how you'd break it down and carry it in the pouch, are the blades just left exposed? Not sure how comfortable I'd be carrying them like that. Neck knife is fine, steel is bleh but if you're just using it as a "get off me" tool and aren't regularly using it to cut stuff edge holding doesn't really matter. Not a fan of double point blades so pass on the push dagger. So I think for me, that leaves the mini bat thing. Solid, simple, easy to use, you know what you're getting and you know it's reliable.

    • @Karatemart
      @Karatemart  Před rokem +1

      That’s an excellent choice! As far as your question with the walking stick, the blades unscrew from the connecting segments and then are reversed inside the segments, so they don’t have the ability to puncture the pouch. I’m not sure if that makes sense…kinda hard to explain, but I probably should have shown that in the video. I hope you are having an excellent week, my friend!
