I was quoting this with another 'senior' co-worker that remembered it and one of the youngsters next to us looked at me funny... when I said "peanuts and popcorn to make your lips smack" he though I said "peein' in some popcorn..." - I died laughing!!!
I met a guy who wrote a lot of these jingles, and I think he probably wrote this jingle. He wrote the one for C and H Purecane sugar, as I recall.
They always played this during the Saturday morning cartoons. Great memories.

"Crackerjack" was a popular expression in the 1890s when the candy was invented. This was an attempt to teach 1890s slang to kids of the 1970s.
There are other versions of this as well.
