    Hi, your video is amazing and informative for me.
    I’d like to ask that did you apply for any scholarships from NUS or NTU, SMU? And how did you achieve it
    since i intent to put in an application for scholarship in NUS and was suggested to learn AP, along side with SAT and IELTS ( im still considering it now because i know about AP very late and its hard to prepare for it within 2 months 😊)
    Btw, thank you for your effort since it’s such a great video.

    Hi, your video really helped me, thanks! I applied for SMU at the 10th of March 2022 and had my interview on the 10th of May. Today’s the first of June and I still haven’t gotten an answer from Smu. Do you think that that’s a bad sign or do I just have to be a little more patient?
    Lots of love!

      I think just wait a bit more. In my case I was interviewed in March but didn't get an outcome until early July (prob because they waited for the final results before releasing the outcome)

    Hi! This video has helped me very much! Thank you! I have some questions about SMU (Singapore Management University) and I hoped you could help. Do SMU value lot leadership skills and finding experiences outside of school ( such as school clubs, Intern, etc.)? I'm an average student and I don't have a leadership skills. In like being the vice or president of the clubs (i'm only a club member). Due to Covid 19 pandamic I also don't have chance to go intern to put those experience in my portfolio. Will it made my chance in getting in SMU lower? ( sorry for long questions :( )

    • @dquynhdo
      @dquynhdo  Před 2 lety +2

      Thanks for reaching out! SMU does value leadership skills, as it is a "management" school. In your case, I think you can explain in your essay that you haven't got the chance to try out leadership positions, but you want and are willing to try them when opportunities are available. Good luck xD

    • @dquynhdo
      @dquynhdo  Před 2 lety +1

      Also, your position in the club is not the only thing that demonstrates your leadership skills. Think of when you led a group project or group assignment and try to elaborate on your experience and what you have learned

    What do you think would be the main academic requirement for applying? I'm an homestudy student and our highschools don't have the GPA system and am thinking of applying with SAT.

    • @dquynhdo
      @dquynhdo  Před 2 lety

      I think for this you need to email them to ask. There will be a section that asks you to fill in your application category and you have to submit scores from your pre-university degree. SAT falls under a different section of the form so idk if that can substitute for GPA

For NUS, they also required filo applicants to take the AP exams along with the SATs. I believe it’s best to check the school’s admission website for the full set of application reqs as they could change for this year’s intake! :))

    Second thing is that ,in the website it says that I can take either IELTS or TOFEL or CEA(Cambridge English advanced) I have my advanced subsidiary English (AS level)...so do you know whether it is acceptable under CAE? it actually equivalent to CAE...

      Hi thanks for your question!
      I would say that it's slightly better to have it, since it's an additional proof of your academic capability (having anything to add onto your application is better, really). But it's definitely not the main requirement for these schools. For me, I got into all 3 schools without SAT/ACT and most of my Vietnamese friends did also.

    Hey!! Your video is really helpful but can you help with couple questions of mine. I'm interested in the BBM(Bachelor of Business Management) course of SMU and I've got to submit my forecast results because in India the education board is changing the rules for examination day after day and it really degraded my grades. So does forecast results matter a lot in SMU. But apart my academics I got a lot of CCAs. So is this helpful??

    • @dquynhdo
      @dquynhdo  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi! Thanks for your question
      I'm not 100% sure about this because I don't know what the selection process actually looks like. For me last year, I emailed them and they told me to submit the GPA of the latest semester (year 12 sem 1) as my forecast result, but they still waited for actual year 12 sem 2 GPA before releasing the decision.
      So my guess is it does matter when they select you for the interview, but then they still need your actual result before finalising the decision. If your GPA doesn't play to your advantage, try your best to highlight to them that you have a good CCA profile and that your experience is just as valuable as a high GPA.
      Hope this helps :) Good lucks!!
