If you think about it, there’s countless endangered species where if you hadn’t lived during their time you would never find bones or any evidence of their recent existence. So it is largely possible that small populations of flying dinosaur like creatures survived into the somewhat modern human timeline and there isn’t any evidence left of their species existing at a much closer date due to human intervention.
