There's a theory that dragon bones haven't been found due to the fact that in order to fly, like birds, they would need for their bones to be hollow and therefore wouldn't fossilise.

The snake sheds its skin and is renewed/reborn. Ancient ppl thought that they didn't die bc they shed their skin and look new. And, anything that is "immortal", must also be very wise and knowledgeable.
Not that it wasn't used as a symbol to strike fear into one's enemy. But, fear was not usually it's intended purpose.

The word “dinosaur” wasn’t invented until 1841 and prior to that, any dinosaur bones found were called dragon bones. Dinosaurs are dragons.

The Eagles that fed on the moa of nz were massive. They only went extinct when the moa did which only went extinct after the maori started hunting them. The maori colonised nz about 1200-1300 years ago. The mega fauna stories and hold outs are part of the mythology that remains today.

This is my therapy about all this stuff during those times. It's called DMT, which is grown and produced in every eco system even in the ocean. So during those times the soil, the plants, fruits, vegetables, etc most likely had larger amounts of 5-meo or dmt in it which might of made things like Dragons, stories in the Bible, fairy tales seem more wild and gsve them a more bizarre perception, because they all were hallucinating.

I like the theory they existed but couldn't survive in the modern conditions, and the reason we don't find bones is because they have a more rubbery bone allowing them to be lighter and then the bones break down so we never see them.

I heard that there might of actually been dragons in the distant past, and the reason the don't find any remains is because to fly they would of had to have bird like bones, which don't fossilize.

Fun fact, If your talking about the serpent with JOB in the Bible It actually aligns with Dreadnoughtus (A titanosaur dinosaur) as it’s name means fear nothing and the story happens somewhere in central Africa, and one more fun fact, Africa and South America used to be connected so my theory is that the serpent and it’s funny because it said in the Bible that it only ate plants and had a tail as long as a cedar tree, another interesting thing is that it mentions it being massive somewhere in there not quite sure where but if you google it, it actually fits the description of the Serpent really well!

In the early 2000s I specifically remember finding an article about a dragon they discovered in Serbia, or some deep artic tundra north of Russia. It was in a frozen cave that had been covered up by an avalanche. I don't remember seeing any pictures of the dragon, but they said they found bones, and I do vividly remember the picture of the nest. It was a stack of rocks in a mound type shape and had black char marks all over. Apparently the dragons would breathe fire on the rocks to keep the eggs warm. Ive searched and searched and still have not found the article. But I know it was real.

The question you have to ask is why they try make you fear animals when animals are here to love you. That is probably the better question , why are designs depicted as evil angry animals ? Like everything else , the lie to create fear. Dragons should be made to be happy , like Falcor in the never ending story. Like you said , a dragon is a combination of many types of animals
