Not quite similar to the one in the jr. version. The harmonies should’ve been added with Madame singing the line “if anyone can make the most of living here then Belle it’s you”

    Change counter (Part 2):
    15) 1:55 The “if” statement makes it much better than a “but”!
    16) 3:53 I hope… what happened to those two words before “you’ll be comfortable here”?
    17) 5:30 They regained the second chorus! Anyone have band parts and vocal scores for this extra chorus or transcribe it from the album? By the way, Hilary, you sang the extended version correctly. Others sang it the wrong way: “I know I can’t solve my problems going back.” You and Christina Bianco (from the Stage Stars album) did it the right way: “I complained of that dull provincial town!” Sorry, Julia Lester.
    18) 10:55 MDGLB aka Garderobe also sang a line in the tag… but it would’ve been better if she sang “If anyone can make…” and then Mrs. Potts can sing with her in harmony on “And who knows…” just like in the Jr. version.
    19) 23:38 Cogsworth originally says this two times before Beast grabs him. They revised it to just one time.
    20) 23:51 I can almost hear Cogsworth’s lines but I cannot hear Beast’s line, “Stay where you are, Lumiére stand aside” through all this commotion. I didn’t know if they took it out by that time. BTW, MDGLB aka Garderobe also is in that scene with the objects helping the Beast with the dinner request. It should’ve been Bab-er, uh, Plumette.
    21) 27:52 Line problem: “Stand watch _____ and if there’s…” I can fill in the blanks: at the door. Fun fact: They took out the “and” in the revised script.
    22) 28:25 They took out the “Why should I?”
    23) 32:33 Mrs. Potts saying she’s spirited instead of spunky.

Why is this so rushed? There's no breathing room, no beat between scenes. From Belle's promise to Maurice being dragged away there was less than 10 seconds! I loved Hilary's singing but everything else felt like they were in a hurry to get it over with.

The wardrobe lady is driving me crazy! She overdoes Every. Single. Line. And tries to hog each scene. She is horrible. Some of them are trying sooo hard to get laughs they just aren't making the parts feel real. Belle is the only character that I actually believe all the time. Hilary is wonderful and is truly making the part her own. She has such a natural take to the character. She isn't reading or reciting lines...she is actually thinking the thoughts that lead her to say the things she says and it comes across wonderfully. The Beast is up and down. At times he's very natural and at other times it just seems forced. I am quite shocked at some of the changes that the producers and director made to this show. I really miss "No Matter What" and even the "Maison de Lune". There's also one thing that is bothering me more than any of these other things and that is the total departure from the movie characters. I fully understand the need and desire to make a part "your own", but everyone knows the Beauty and the Beast Disney animated version. They know the characters. They know what the character is supposed to look like and what they are supposed to sound like. Now, I don't believe you have to copy everything down to the last detail, but at least the general idea of the vocal inflections and sounds. To take a character like LeFou and just make him a high-pitched, whiny dork, like in this portrayal is nothing but a disservice to the character. The guy playing him doesn't look or sound like him at all. The asylum head is another character that is just totally wrong in this version. Another high-pitched-let's-try-to-make-him-over-the-top-funny disaster. Just play him as a menacing corrupt evil dude like in the movie. Oh, and don't even get me started on Cogsworth and Lumiere. Ugh. Cogsworth is almost unbearable to even listen to with his extended....pauses....between....each....word....he....says..Oy veh.. Watch the Los Angeles 1995 version of this show to see how it is truly supposed to be done. Every single role, down to the last person, is played completely naturally. And yes, it is mainly the entire original Broadway cast except for the Beast, who in LA was played by James Barbour. The cast of this touring production is "supposed" to be Broadway-caliber but not many of them seem to be. In the LA version, James takes the Beast role much more seriously and plays him as a more tempered, angry character in the beginning and has a real grand arc to his character as his hard exterior cracks and then he is truly changed by Belle and his newfound feelings for her. Darick does some of that in this version, but not nearly enough, in my opinion. Please don't get me wrong....I am not saying this version is totally bad. It is still a very enjoyable show (despite some of the annoying character portrayals). Gaston is very well done by this actor and this Belle is probably my favorite right up there with Susan Egan, the original. Darick, as the Beast is probably my second favorite...way over Steve Blanchard's performance, which I found completely stilted and unnatural. It felt like Steve was sometimes just doing a cold reading of the part with the script in his face. Utterly emotionless and unfeeling. Unbelievable for a Broadway production. Anyway, as I was saying, this production is good overall. I love the ingenious set and the gargoyles that come to life to move the set pieces around! Very, very cool. The sound was also very well done. You could understand every word of each song, something I feel is very important. Overall, good show. I just really needed to express some of those feelings and get them off my chest! Thanks for reading and let me know if you agree or disagree! :-)

I'm with you on the Wardrobe, she's a little too exaggerated and her costume is just odd, I understand that the costumes had to be drastically dialed down for the tour, but you can't really tell that she's a wardrobe at all. I prefer Mary Jo Catlett's (AKA Mrs. Puff's) portrayal from the LA production. She had the right about of humor and camp without being too over-the-top.

thats actually the point of madame's (wardrobe) character. when she was human, her occupation in the palace was an opera singer, a PERFORMER. the stereotypical performer is seen as dramatic and overdone. but i do see and understand your point.

Yeah, the person who plays the wardrobe in this production? She is so bad! I don't know if it's the direction she's been given, or what, but her performance was just down right annoying. No disrespect to the actress herself. I'm sure she's better in other roles, but this one was just not good.
Then there's Cogsworth. This is not the right actor for the job. He was just playing it so boring, it just was not a good performance. He just says all his lines so slowly and quietly. If I gotta be honest, most of the performances here were not the greatest, and definitely could've been much better, especially for this show.
I'm glad they were able to get these roles, and I do wish them the best going forward. Hopefully they can play characters that truly fits their acting skills, and they can shine to their fullest.
