This is the 70's-est thing that has ever 70's-ed.
even by 70s standards when this was new it was considered cringe.
Then you haven't seen that 70s Liberace special with the mod dancers and him trying to sing popular songs like Feeling Groovy...wearing this crazy flower power outfit.
This was a bit before my time but I have seen the reruns of the Brady Bunch. This seems very odd even for this time. Or any time. Like really odd.

❤I’m here because 47 years ago I was in labor and had just checked into the hospital. All settled in and the tv in my room was on,and this is what was on. Just a memory 😊. That said,tonight I am sitting here with my beautiful daughter born that night. Happy Birthday My Ginger 🩷

This is soooooooooo bad that it’s absolute f**king GENIUS. I remember watching copy of this on VHS back in the early ‘90s and watching it in altered states. A life-changing experience.

This has to be at the apex of 70’s variety shows. The over the top outfits the corny jokes and dance routines. Yet for its time it was a hit. As a little kid I remember seeing this episode when it was first run.

@@lullarmstrong3423 I recall Greg doing drugs during the original show..as he grew older...there were times he had a far off look in his eyes and you could tell he was on something...for Example in the episode when he worked with Sam at his Meat shop.. when he was hired to be the delvery boy...during the scene you could tell he had been on something by the look in his eyes.

Parents though never would have watched a variety show like this. They were into classical, opera, big band. This never would have seen the light of day. 😂

Now I have been thoroughly entertained beyond comprehension.
This is so wonderfully bizzare. The variety show was big at the time but it was always Dean Martin, the Osmonds or whoever as the ringmaster. Here the actors are playing their TV characters hosting a variety show. Tony Randall, as himself, adresses' his fellow actors as the characters and its convincing. Its a mindf*** and I'm not sure anyone else was doing a variety show in quite this way.
Also you can tell Florence Henderson was working in her sweet spot. Her skill set was perfect for the variety show and I bet she loved doing those show tunes.
Who here noticed Greg biting the dust at 18:40 while skating?

I imagine my family back in 1976 all sitting around the tv going “what IS this?!” And laughing their asses off. But then again, it WAS the 70s. And only 3 channels if you were lucky. I am not surprised it got canceled pretty quickly.

I remember watching this when it first aired in Australia in the 1970s. I liked it then. We only had 4 TV stations then and any variety show was good to watch.
The reason this may be called 'horrible' because the actors were given material was beyond their capabilities. They would have to be at the level of the old Saturday Night Live level of comedian.
Also, I can guarantee you that every major figure in this TV production was coked out of their mind.

I never knew until now that this was a Sid & Marty Krofft show. I was always surprised that with all the complaining Bob Reed did during The Brady Bunch series that he agreed to do this show.

I was 7 years old when this first aired. I watched Brady Bunch twice a day in syndication on channel 5 out of NYC. I could not have been more excited for this. It was so flashy and colorful! But, on some level I realized that something was off. I remember looking for it the next week, but for a while it only aired once a month.
Peter looks so much like Seth Mcfarlane.

I don't know why, but I've always had an affection for the Brady Bunch. I watched this show when it first aired and remembered like it was yesterday. These song and dance variety shows were the thing at the time. To be perfectly honest, it's not that bad.

Everybody had a variety show in the 70s. Just how it was. Takes me back to Mac Davis.
For those who don't know "up your nose with a rubber hose" became a catch-phrase after it was used a few times on Welcome Back Kotter as an insult the Sweathogs liked to say.
A Sid and Marty Krofft production. Kind of explains it. Like a weird dream you might have, don't ask questions just roll with the mind trip.
