The entire game gives you the tools to make what a more Supreme Ace Combat would be. If the new Ace Combat game is not better than Project Wingman, I don't think the legacy of Ace Combat will last for long!
Good to see someone remembers Ace Combat's true first total (non-Belkan) psychopath.
Fighting Arsenal Bird Mk.II commandeered by Matias Torres' cousin would never feel so fulfilling without track of this caliber playing in the background; making your blood pumping and mind hyped.
Best experience since "Kings".
The title of this track is a reference to the following line from the original game: "We are the descendants of those who would not be ruled. Show them what that means" and now this game confirms that Cascadia still remembers when it was called the USA.

In this case the reservists are descendants to Cascadians too. So they do not yield to the invasion.

stupid question: how much does it cost to hire a composer? not a full orchestra, I'm fine with them using a digital orchestra, but how much per track? Do they usually get payed by the track or the hour? because I've got 3 scenes left to film on a movie that's taken me nearly 10 years to get as far as I have, and I'm looking to give it an extra punch with an original soundtrack.

It sounds both epic and somewhat tragic at the same time, which it fits considering that we are facing the White Fleet, the ceremonial airforce Airship used as a symbol of unity for the Cascadians, now twisted and re-armed for nothing more than war and destruction.
War brings hatred, and hatred can corrupt even those who claims to be the "Good Guys".
Also, if Vita's (who, unlike Kaiser, is a confirmed Oceanian) words are any indication, Cascadia might actually have had a number of skeletons in its own closet since the time while it was still a member of the Federation.
@@dy031101 I remember in mission 3 on the campaing how some Federation officers were saying how General Elizabeth was in charge of the Federation's army during the war in Oceania, by that time, Cascadia was part of the Federation. So yeah... they probabbly had done a number of bad things in the past.

God damn. At 2:53 when the guitiar solo is joined in by the federation's trumpet, and then the voice in unison for the rest of it. The message that Pavli is driving home to us with that, that these are two sides of warriors going head to head over what they belive in.

You got it. Apparently due to the first calamity around 432 years ago, many Cascadians (West Coast Americans and Canadians), must have fled the disaster to Eastern Siberia (Magadan). This was around the very early 1900s if Theodore Roosevelt was president. (Or the 1930s if Franklin D was. It's probably most likely Teddy.)

I really liked General Faust. Her voice actor did a fantastic job, the Faust's character is really interesting. All the things she said about the Oceanian War, and how Vita responded with the fact that the Cascadians did the most damage to his country really makes me wonder just how much is Cascadia hiding. So excited to see more expansion to this story, theres so much potential.

@@JosePavli Oh, the VA's performance was stellar, actually every VA did incredible in this expansion, that wasn't my issue. It's that the difficulty of the fight is way too high for the lower difficulties, and the insane ramblings were a bit... much on the writing.

Crimson was way harder than this i actually would like that the MPBM shells did way more damage 10 each and the lasers 50 so you actually are encouraged to dodge them, right now you can just fly through it and receive little damage.
@@AiRPasternak Never got to play the game but saw several playthroughs of it I get what you mean. For a fight that supposedly was to be a sort of reference to Torres and his white sheets addiction, I never felt that the airships posed any significant threat. Yeah they made the target points more spongy and the explosion effects looked cool, but as a whole it didn't feel that much different from the airship raid we did in Sawakii.
Maybe if we didn't stop them they would have blown up the cordium deposits in front of them that would have brought more urgency to the mission but beyond that just circling and launching MLAAs, it felt a little to simple I guess.

Stuff like this is why I love the arcade flight genre. You have the wackiest damn scenario of a flying ship shooting lasers, missiles and flak at your tiny ass plane while a rock band orchestra is playing in the background like it’s the most intense thing in your life.

The actual US Navy, even with all the troubles it has today, is better than that. Then again I might move to Japan someday so my hypothetical descendants might not even be American. Faust and her followers are a bunch of worthless wannabes who fail to live up to the example set by the 20th Century US Navy and the absolute manliness of Teddy. She just wanted to see that her skull was at the top of Khorne's skull throne. Khorne cares not from whence the blood flows and she started to show signs of Khorne corruption at the end (even if this is not a WarHammer game). The "heroic" image America fosters does not seem to be compatible with Khorne from WarHammer.

Ah, the solo vocals are from the same soprano in the PW orchestra, no wonder both sound similar.
I really wonder what Fause was trying to achieve here by attacking the facility. We learned in mission 4 that most of the production lines rely on Cascadia's production of Cordium- so other than the pre-production ones, we can assume Magadan's cordium facility was one of the few facility that could potentially produce Cordium Missiles- and Faust, invaded a whole ass country against Stardust's commands, killed millions of innocent Magadans, tries to take the matter to her own hands and sends her white fleet, once a proud vessel of peace now refurbished for war. Whatever she tried to achieve- it was too little, too late. Cordium Missiles, were already in posession to the Federation, and was used in Prospero while the last forefather burnt down. In doing so, they extended the war for at least another two months(somehow the counter-offensive forces in Magadan got incenerated by the Ring of Fire due to prospero? who knows, but if thats the case Feds shot their foot) made Stardust pull out the ultimate card to persuade the sucessor of Cabal to their help, and make a Cascadian, fighting for the federation, go insane and then start a 3rd calamity(on top of the 2nd calamity they just initiated in this mission)
Honestly, great ending- I agree on whoever said in Kings, that Project Wingman takes a more "realistic" approach compared to ace combat- and this is the pinnacle.

There's a voiceline within the FL59 campaign that explains that at the Cordium refineries that were under attack, the engineers were forced to dump neutralizing agents into the cordium veins. It was said that this could cause pressure to balloon elsewhere, most likely indirectly referring to the chain reaction caused in Prospero. that reaction would then spread to the rest of the ring of fire.
And yeah, i agree, the writing of this game has no right to be so good
To me it seems like she could be going to stop missile production, but in my opinion I think she was just trying to cut their geothermal energy. Without those refineries she could freeze the Federation, both politically and LITERALLY for their northern cities. Faust was desperate to stop the Deal from being activated at any cost - whatever she saw in Oceania motivated her to think it was a better idea to send her fleet into a suicide mission than to let that thing be released into the world - and so the only thing she could do was try to damage the Federation enough for them to pull back and stop the counteroffensive, preventing the Deal from being activated.
Yeah though, she tragically directly contributed to it by causing the dumping of neutralizing agents, which cooked the RoF even harder when the Federation nuked Prospero. It’s sad, she only wanted to prevent that kind of escalation.

Bruh Crimson 1 nuked his own home, shot everyone down during a ceasefire, and started a second apocalypse. Faust is crazy but not as deranged as Crimson.
@@hangdog355 Faust was in command of multiple CIF units numbering in the hundreds of thousands, used all of them for a personal vendetta, and abandoned not only every single one of them but even her own post as soon as the slightest interference was met with K-9. The way I understand it is, if her plans had succeeded in Missions 5 and 6, she would have caused in Magadan tenfold what Crimson 1 did to Presidia. Also, Crimson 1 didn't start a second apocalypse, that was the Federation as a whole during Prospero. The Presidia event was localized to Presidia (and Mercenary difficulty confirms many people survived anyway).
Would've also probably shot her nation to hell likewise, both in reputation and physically@@SlyAceZeta

@@SlyAceZeta Yeah the only reason we even considered C1 batshit insane is that he nuked his own nation's capital, which the damage as you said was only limited to the capital. If it was any other city we probably would've cared less. Faust meanwhile literally is planning a genocide of the Federation, and if she had succeeded in Magadan it's not far-fetched to think she would have gone for the other Cordium-rich states as well

Oh man. This is a GOOD. Probably inching out showdown 2.0 as my favorite for this dlc. It really feels like if Doom and Top Gun had a baby with some ace combat mixed in. Probably in my top five from this game at this point, and that’s without even knowing what the mission this accompanies

I just realised something: In the Kingdom of Swaikii mission, one of the allied pilots remarks how Monarch reminds him of a “pilot from another generation” and in the final mission of F59, a Cascadian pilot states that Driver was a pilot from the Oceania war. May be a stretch of what they consider a generation since Calamity, but Monarch and Driver might cross paths soon.
The mission this music plays in is like Strikers 1945 and Touhou had a kid that drank Four Loko for breakfast.
Really amazing stuff, indeed.

This is utterly incredible, Senor Pavli. Phenomenal composition. The use of vocals, drums, and the electric guitar are an excellent contrast to tell the tale of the enemy. Looking forwards to playing this myself one day.

Damn, this makes me wish I could play Frontline 59. I played Project Wingman on Xbox and absolutely loved every bit of it, especially the music. Hearing this now, it is a tough comparison. I am mostly just frustrated that I do not have anything to play this new story though.

This theme seems fitting for fighting someone who gave themselves over completely to Khorne from WarHammer.

I'd say so, headcanon lore
I wonder if the implication is that Hiroshima and Nagasaki were what triggered the Calamity (making FDR the last forefather and Truman the trigger), but I'm not sure that it fits. There's radio chatter that uses phrases from post-WWII like catch-22, and I don't know how Faust or anyone else would know pre-Calamity history for certain.
Or it could be a different Roosevelt. A... descendant, perhaps?
