  • That's right! The worst foods for ADHD! A while ago i did a video discussing the best foods for ADHD, and due to a comment i received on that video asking about what foods to avoid, coupled with the fact that i am dieting again due to some weight gain, i thought why not do a video discussing which foods are bad for your ADHD.

I always found it funny how others are jittery and can't sleep after drinking a cup of coffee.... While I finished off a pack of star bucks or a couple Java Monsters and can pass out like normal. I've had people tell me I need drink coffee when I looked tired and I just snicker and say, that will more likely make me want to fall asleep. Been asked why drink Java monsters are such if don't work... It's cause I like the taste.

@@timhadaway9093 never had issues with being believed, but prob cause they watch me down a 54 oz cup of coffee and it has not effect on me and I look like I'm gonna pass out an hour latter. Downed Javas monsters at one job and I'd be ready to keel over within 1-2 hours after lol and they be like how hell drink that and be tired.. I'm like ADHD, Coffee more likely to put me to sleep than wake me up xD.

There is very little research saying caffeine is bad for people with ADHD, but there is a lot of research showing it is good for people with ADHD!Just be careful mixing too much caffeine with stimulant medications (especially if you consume nicotine on top), as you’re then consuming more than one stimulant. Of course just like some people with ADHD don’t do well on stimulant medication, some might have the same side effects from caffeine as it’s also a stimulant! There is also research showing that it can reduce your risk of diabetes, dementia, parkinsons, some cancers and heart disease- though if you’re already on stimulant medications it’s worth noting that’s generally bad for you heart and caffeine will only make it worse.
If you’re looking to making healthy dietary changes to reduce the symptoms of ADHD, I’d first look at adding things to your diet and then slowly eliminating thing’s you suspect could be making it worse. Adding whole grains, healthy fats, lean protein and fruits, berries and vegetables is much easier than removing a bunch of stuff, doing it gradually is also a good idea as it’ll be easier to stick to and less side effects of suddenly consuming four times the amount of fibre. Then it’ll also come naturally to stop consuming things that are bad for you. (I’m very aware of the struggle of all or nothing thinking though...) When it comes to caffeine there will also be a difference in how it’s consumed, energy drinks (especially energy shots) are really bad for many reasons outside of the stupid amounts of caffeine they cram into them (like sugar and artificial everything.)
But summed up, unless you have high blood pressure and it doesn’t make you more irritable, anxious or makes it harder to sleep- enjoy your cup of coffee :)

Hi I research ADD and I stumbled across your channel! I just wanted to comment on some things during this video.
Sugar can actually help you if you have ADD, it can calm you down and actually help you focus. But normally you shouldn’t eat too much. 1:20
The reasons you feel that way is because the medication is already filled with sugar like properties that help you focus, and overloading it with throw you off. 2:23
Yes, everyone should mainly try to avoid them, it’s not like there’re bad for people just with ADD though, and really doesn’t need to be on this list. 3:34
Yes there is also caffeine like sustenances in the ADHD medication, like sugar. But it’s not really something that is bad for ADD. 4:30
The reason this happens is because they increase they amount of dopamine output into your brain, it’s healthy for people without ADHD but people with it regain the dopamine the ADHD took from their brain. 6:30
Sorry if this seems rude, I’d just like to help people understand more about all 7 types of the ADD world. :) Have a great day.

Its totally normal. When you start meds you start low and go slow. Slowly increase you meds. Its a little delicate dance. Like adjusting a radio station. Slowly increase until you find that sweet spot. It ok if you go a little over. Mosty you will feel like your heart is racing, can't sit still, mind in overdrive. Lile ADHD overload. Just dial it back to that nice sweet spot. Also you dosage has nothing to do with weight, gender, age, etc it is purely based on the individual. So you may feel like 20mg of adderall is high but I was on 40mg. You may benefit from even higher than that. I've also had a friend who was on 15mg of adderall and she was taller, larger, and the same age as me. But my dose was much higher. And there is always a change adderall is not for you. You might benefit from biphentin or concerta, etc. There are lots of different options. You just need to find the best one for you through trial and error.

I’m not diagnosed with anything, but I understand the texture and taste thing, since I was like 5 anytime I eat vegetables I gag on the food and start crying even tho I want to eat it, and because of the constant gagging I am now terrified of being forced to eat veggies and when a person forces me to I cry and start freaking out. I always tell people that it’s the texture and taste making me gag and so I tried finding out why and google didn’t tell me shit. And I hate extremely spicy food or the smell of pinakurat (Filipino spicy sauce). It makes me gag and I can’t stand the smell. And any sauce mixed with rice makes me feel like throwing up. But my sister and my mum love pinakurat so anytime they have a bowl of the sauce I just stay far away cause I hate the smell🤢
And ketchup too, I hate the taste and smell😭
Like I’ll be eating a bowl of food and I can immediately identify that there is a vegetable of some sort in it just from the texture or taste and my mind just latches onto the fact that “there is a veggie in my food, don’t throw up, don’t throw up, don’t throw up”
I started researching adhd cause my friends kept mentioning it in off-handed jokes to me about my behaviour and started making me question whether I rlly have it or not.😂

    And something else:
A Dutch doctor discovered all people with ADHD need a personal diet. This is breaking news for the world, and her foundings were placed in the highest international magazine you can be in for doctors (My mother language isn't English, but you do understand).
She examined kids. One ate a lot of chocolate. But some time after he ate it, he was more hyper than before. Another became hyper from dairy products. Another from gluten.
What will happen if you tried, for example, to skip milk products for a week?
