- On June 20th, 1853, West Virginia became the 35th state in The United States. 148 years later, I was born in West Virginia. I’m proud of my state, and I see it get talked down a lot. We do have our problems, but this video is a celebration of our culture, history, conspiracies, and paranormal activity. In the West Virginia iceberg, I cover everything from the history behind Country Roads, the mystery and evolution of the Mothman, several unique ghost towns, the celebrities hailing from the state, and so much more. Fellow West Virginian here. Seeing the increase in interest for my state in the advent of Country Roads & Fallout 76 over the years has been awesome to witness. This state, while one of the poorest in the nation, has such rich culture & many incredibly generous people living in it. It’s nice to see people bringing the Mountain State, with all its good & bad, into the spotlight :)

Fallout gave me joy in realising I'm in THIS location/state, and everytime I wander around, I just appreciate everything about it, just like 76. It's lovely learning about a state whose song, and history is interesting as hell, here In CA, it's silly, and very hot...

Fellow wv resident from Putnam. I’m not sure if you made this iceberg or not. If you didn’t, it’s possible the Whittaker family entry may also be referring to Jack Whittaker who won the lottery which eventually caused the death of many of his family members. Great video though!
My favorite thing to tell people about our state is the coal wars and the battle of Blair mountain. As much crap as WV gets, I'm proud to have called it home. Thanks for taking the time to make this video and keep up the great work!

This was a fun video. I've always been fascinated by lesser populated areas in countries. Personally, I'm from a Swedish province called Ångermanland. The town I live in is mostly famous for having birthed several successful ice hockey players.
