I think you can do it all on this channel! You spent years sharing, and building your community, and you can continue to grow here. I've had shops on Etsy since 2008, and I've never been super successful, but always happy with my sales. I have heard so many stories about getting banned, and that is so stressful. I also have websites that I built mostly for when I do craft shows, my prices and inventory are there for me to see, and it helps me stay organized. There are a lot of other platforms, and I think your CZcams channel is big enough that you don't need to go back to Etsy, you can build a website and promote on your current social media sites to grow. Those are my thoughts, I know you will go with what's in your heart, and you will have a blast succeeding!
My first thought was "Keep the craft secret so that others done steal your ideas right off the bat". Maybe start the business and pre-record that contact and wait until you are established and maybe copywrited before sharing. I love your content. So many fun ideas! Ultimately, do what you feel called to do. :)

This is my thought as well. Keep it a secret & copyright before sharing your ideas & progress. However, you may want to have just one CZcams channel for a couple of reasons: 1. It will be more stressful having 2. 2. You have an awesome following. You'll have to start over on your new channel. 3. Most of us follow you for all content on your channel, so what you decide to do is up to you. I love what you do. You'll be great at whatever you decide to do. Keep it up & thank you!
I’m been a big fan of yours for many years. I would support you no matter what you decide. Nothing negative to say towards you but for me-I hate shorts!! I feel like this is almost gatekeeping ideas,content etc. watching a short video makes me feel like I missing something & truly makes me mad. I skip over all short videos from all content creators for that simple fact. I love your idea about small business content and how to succeed. In fact I re watch some of your “business” videos regularly.. keep doing what the good deed and find what makes you happiest for yourself and family!!

I have been a subscriber since before or right after the "ban debacle". I have found value in your content. Start your secret vlog channel and then do a big reveal once it takes off cuz you know it will! Oh, and hire and editor it might take some weight off your shoulders to focus more on your creativity. I am just a hobbyist but some days I think I could do the business stuff because of creators like you. Keep your legs moving forward and keep doing, and growing! I think uou know in your heart and soul whats right for you, and I think you'll choose the right path. I'd love to see what you're creating next - wherever you create it! I'll be upfront about hooing you keep it here though - here's why. I've got ADHD and struggle to remember the names of channels, even after I've chosen to follow and get all the alerts. Having one more to remember adds to my mental spoons being spent. However, I'm only sharing so you know how that may affect others with disabilities too. However, no matter how you set it up, do what is right for you! Following your own joy is most important, and all the right people will find and support you however it's made. You've got this! ❤❤❤

I honestly don’t feel “qualified” to give an opinion about the craft business side - I don’t have one as I craft / Cricut craft strictly for personal projects, am in Canada so business pieces would be different from for non-usa subscribers but I do think whatever your gut is saying is the correct direction - great & kind of you to request subscribers’ opinion but you’ll be the one doing the work, so if the “majority rules” seem to sway away from your gut (clearly an experienced one), then I hope you go with it. I love learning how to navigate CDS & make things & hacks or tips for issues more than content geared to running a craft business obviously so certainly hope to see those from you - but it’s your path, your journey, etc, Amy. I do wish you all the best whichever way you go- have fun, take care of your physical, mental & emotional health as you progress (beach time!!). Amy I’ve been a fan for a few years now and I too started my craft business because I got inspired by your content. Sometimes as entrepreneurs you have to pivot and really follow what God has put in your heart. These are all stepping stones to your bigger purpose. Screw the trolls girlfriend and stay focus. I just found you and love your videos but you should do what makes you happiest. You seem very kind. If you get sales from the fact you have a following then good for you. Don’t worry about the trolls. I might hide it so no one could steal your idea although I totally would love to follow you as you launch it, just watching you going through it would be inspiring. In terms of the doubters and trolls, the craft industry can be a very catty place with many opinionated voices. I follow your channel because even though I have transitioned to fine art, I still use my Cricuit to help create my work. Your advice and tutorials have always been useful. It's concise information that's well-edited and easy to find. Your videos don't waste any of our time and you don't go into long-winded tangents or make awkwardly try to sell us a product or service which many influencers and content creator do. Also, any business needs a following, so all of the criticism of how your new business's success is based on your existing community is bull. Anyone who starts a business transfers over some of their personal or professional following. That's just business.
In terms of your CZcams channels, I vote for keeping them separate. By keeping them separate, you make it easier to market yourself as a craft business when applying to juried craft fairs or business opportunities and then pivoting to market yourself as a craft educator when applying to educational craft opportunities. However, this mostly depends on what your plans are for this channel and your new business.
Regardless of what you decide, I hope you keep your head held high and keep moving forward. The internet is a brutal place, but I like how you always try to stay professional and humble even when things are tough. Good luck to you!

I put things off until I came back from an overseas vacation. With keeping it a secret, I totally get your reason. I watch this other YT guy who kept his shop a secret but only talked about his niche. Then he finally felt comfortable enough to promote his shop too. Totally on board with the idea. The shop will already be successful and help keep the trolls quiet. But at the end of the day, doesn’t matter what anyone else says as long as you know your truth and purpose 💕
I love this idea!! I started a soap and candle business in 2020 after graduating from Esti school, and after 2 years, I had to take a year and a half long break due to so many life changes (ugly break up, moved, stressful custody battle, followed by meeting the love of my life and starting a whole new chapter 🥰). Now that I’m ready to get started again, I’m having a hard time finding encouraging content geared towards relaunching small business, or just starting over from the beginning! A lot of creators I’ve followed over the years have progressed in their journey to a point that their content sometimes feels unrelatable, ya know? I think watching someone experienced, work your way from the ground up again with fresh content would be IMMENSELY helpful and encouraging!

Love your CZcams videos and I think the lives would be good. There are so many channels teaching Cricut tips and tricks, but what I would like to see from you is more tips about social media and how to. As a business owner of 24 years-several different businesses this is still the one area I struggle. Social media is your gift! Yes you are great at your craft but you excel in social media in my opinion! Ultimately you have to do what you feel called to do and I hope you are able to figure that out.

Hey Amy I have been following you for about a year (if not longer) since before i got my cricut! You inspired me to get a cricut! Been such a crazy journey but I've learned SO much from this journey. I havent really started my business because of the fear of taxes, and fear that im violating my apartment lease by starting a business etc. even the BOI report is kind of scaring me. I started an LLC right off the bat and wish i would of just stayed a sole prop until i was acutally making a decent amount first. But continuing through the fear is so important. I love to see how real you're being in this video! You have doubts and insecurities too and you've already reached 100k subscribers. I guess the difference between the successful and the unsuccessful is, (drum roll) Action! Taking the steps! Just pushing the submit button even if its not perfect! Fighting our perfectionist and conteol freak tenancies! The list could go on and on! Wishing you the best luck Amy on your new journey ❤🎉 oh and screw the trolls! Be proud of how far you've come! You gotta let yourself grow! It's okay to slow down on content creation to pursue your other goals. Keep it public; it's very inspirational. Keep it on the same channel. You already have a built in audience ready to support you. Just keep your content playlist organized so people can find what topic they want on the channel. Good luck!

First off I want to say that I love your content. I love the videos of craft makes because I see the things you give tutorials on as practical use items compared to other peoples cricut tutorials videos on CZcams.
I would also like to see things on starting a craft business. I am wanting to start my own craft business and getting trips on how to do that would be very helpful. Do I think you need to start a different CZcams channel for that…maybe not. I think running two channels may be a lot, not to mention that if you run two different CZcams channels you may want to run a different social account on instagram for that new channel as well and that just adds more things to keep updated.
Most important in all of this is for you to do what you feel is right and best for you.
I'm so glad you're up for more craft business content! I agree, it could be a lot to maintain both; I'd definitely have to figure out a tight schedule with 2 CZcams channels and multiple socials.. something to think about but I am very thankful for your feedback, so thank you!!

Whichever will bring you the most satisfaction. I think it would be hard to keep your craft business a super secret - I think it could be easier to launch publicly, but just not share your Etsy shop…or whatever site you’re using….idk just thinking out loud -

Did you ever figure this out Amy? If it feels right for you, you do it. If you're hesitant people have told me to do a pro and con list to see the options. I'm not big into vlogs I get enough out of my own experiences but go for your dreams absolutely. I'm doing that myself, I have actually made 2 big sales recently 😄 so go for it but I also want to say I watched the whole thing love you too 🫡
If you aren’t feeling fulfilled in what you are doing, you’ll want to stop doing it altogether. It’s okay to pivot and try out something new! Crafting is what got you to where you are today, and it makes sense that you want to go back to it and have the TIME to craft again. I think a second channel would be best for organization purposes (I know you’ll feel me on that! I have been wanting to start a craft business for a while but have been lacking the know how and frankly, the courage and confidence (imposture syndrome is rough 😅). It would be amazing to see how you go about starting and see how it all works!
As for making a new channel or not, I dont know that it is necessary to separate your content. You have worked hard for your subscribers and we will just follow you to your next channel anyway. You're going to have a large following regardless of what you do. The trolls will always be there unfortunately. Plus it sounds challenging or maybe exhausting to have to maintain 2 channels! Running the small business will be enough as it is!! So I vote keeping all your wonderful content in one place!

Do it as a secret but document it, but please keep the cricut guides coming. Bought my fiance a cricut for Christmas and your guides really helped her get into it and then you got me into it.

Why was your Etsy shop banned?
they never told me why so I have no idea! it's a very common issue (unfortunately) for shops to get deleted. it ended up getting reactivated months later but at that point I was already focused on educating and building Amy Makes That@@user-ow1bm8ts7e
Personally I could definitely use some help on the business side of crafting maybe I just need motivation to keep going but I started almost a year ago and feel lost still.

I (Kelley) hate to say it but might be better to do it in secrete to keep the haters and stealers away. I would miss you because I don't do shorts. I hate them. You have to do what is right for you. Everyone will support your decision and if they don't they don't care about you.
I also agree with at least starting off the business in secret BUT still documenting everything so eventually you all will know about it! it will be a temporary break, I promise not for too long! I greatly appreciate your input
Been watching you since I stumbled across your video about Etsy closing your shop without explanation. I personally abhor short form content; vertical videos also make me wanna stick a fork in my eye. I honestly do not understand the appeal of it and avoid using it as much as I can as a viewer. I work in the paper craft industry and find social media to be a relentless hamster wheel. It’s exhausting, stressful and soul-draining.
That said, I think you should follow what your HEART and gut are really telling you will be most fulfilling for YOU. Go for it and take good care. I believe in you. 😊

I think if you want to start a new small business to keep it a secret just so you can try to build it on your own and see how that is again, then do it. But since you have a following and if you are ready for an influx of sales then I would say to announce it because you will be successful! I like the day in the life of a small business owner, but I think you can use your current platform to do that!

Aaaalso I know your Etsy deletions seemed random but my cousins wife brought up the topic of copywriting and I thought maybe that was why you you had those issues did you consider that?
unfortunately I'll never know because I never received an email in regards to WHY it happened. I don't believe so because I wasn't breaking any copyright rules and because it was reactivated a few months later
I think do what makes you happy, but maybe keeping the new business secret and new CZcams might actually throw up some more ideas ,content ,difficulties, and scale from launching from scratch without the current audience
