there are many theories on the lyrics, but the one that makes the most sense to me at the beginning of the song anyways is that the singer is in a hospital bed after a failed suicide. "Flood me like atlantic, bandage up the trenches" maybe an IV in his arm, and bandages on the cuts in his wrists. "I woke up surrounded, eyes like frozen planets just orbiting the vacuum i am" all the ppl around his bedside. "Sobbing as they turn to statues at the bedside" etc. etc.

Blue light can either be the lights on the ambulance taking him to hospital after a failed suicide attempt or what you see as you are sinking under the ocean and look up. Personally I think its the later as I see the first verse as the suicide attempt and the second verse is him waking up in hospital with relatives and doctors surrounding him in the hospital bed. Flood me like Atlantic could be referring to medication/pain killers - anything to get me to sleep. Vessels lyrics are so wonderfully deep and poetic, I find great pleasure in analysing them like I did back in school studding a great piece of literature. Worship!

This should put it into perspective.- The song "Atlantic" by Sleep Token is about the struggle to cope with difficult emotions and traumatic experiences. The narrator is calling for a way out of the emotional pain by seeking solace in the “Atlantic” - the sea - in a literal and symbolic sense. The metaphor of the ocean is used to represent the vastness of a person’s negative emotion and struggles. The narrator wants to be “flooded” by the ocean, hoping to be able to “wash away” their troubles and finally find some peace and solace from the pain and suffering. As the song progresses, it becomes clear that the narrator is asking for the help of the ocean to help them cope, but is ultimately only seeking a momentary respite from the emotional pain and struggles they are enduring. At the end of the song, the narrator pleads not to be woken up as they are in search of a safe haven to escape the darkness and find a moment of peace.

That little " it's a pain they don't understand" is something the people in the white coats say to you when you are in the hospital. It's cliche it's said so much.

In my opinion, the beginning of the song talks about a feeling of trying to get through society when lost in a vastness of your own emotions and your own mind "Marry in the morning, earn your bitter fathers" marriage is a time of happiness, so wake up and pretend to be happy, to earn approval around you because they wouldnt accept otherwise. The second verse to me sounds like the protagonist is waking after a possible suicide attempt or perhaps overdose. (Given how the end of the chorous he says "bandage up the trenches, anything to get me to sleep" like using drugs to sleep maybe?) Waking to seeing loved ones or doctors staring at him/them while he just feels numb to it. They say they cant understand how he feels as he tries not to break them further. (I lean more towards the overdose idea due to the next songs lyrics seeming more like explaining a drug addiction). But these are just my thoughts, loved the reaction and i hope you continue!

This song is about him and his girlfriend. And because they are now so toxic, it's even hard for him to ask her to marry him, which would reference Temples built from FUTURE daughters, and asking her bitter father if he can marry her. And then.....he tried to off himself and ended up in the hospital because he loved her so much
