    Thank you for making this video! It is one thing to read about the flashing process but another to actually see it in action.

      Thanks for the feedback 😊. The process was very reliable in my testing and didn't fail once with numerous downgrades and upgrades. Although you can't see the screen when the cable is plugged in there is actually no indication of what is going on (other than when it is first erased and gives Pr Error). The program download bar is the only indicator that the process is working.

    Ah much as I love and got spoiled by the big display in the 48G and 50G, I'm loving the thin HP-15C CE I just got. Great form factor, really nice to use, although it doesn't feel as robust as older models, it just might become my new go to calculator for daily use.

      The local distributor here in Australia has just received their 15C CE stock so I'm hoping to receive mine next week 🤓

      I've managed to collect them all (not all variants of the 12C though) and they are stunning with the brushed aluminium and landscape format.

      Excellent 😊. Let me know if you find any other issues with the older version (like the overflow bug).

    I want to flash to original HP 12C, Can you provide a Version 2011 file??

    • @CalculatorClique
      @CalculatorClique  Před 5 měsíci

      I don't have a flashable 12C and so don't have the firmware for it either (as I haven't needed it). There are also a number of different versions available so you would have to make sure you had the right version.
      Have you looked at the 12C development kit? It includes a firmware file and might be the correct version but check the documentation first to see if it matches your hardware (CPU etc). Please let me know if you find a solution. www.hpcalc.org/details/9554

    I have the 15C LE, the 8-19-09 ROM, and the MySamBa transfer software. Are there any of the transfer cables available out there? If not, is there specific information about which substitute cable can be used, the pinouts, and the procedure to use it instead of the original cable? Thanks for any help.

    • @CalculatorClique
      @CalculatorClique  Před 2 lety +1

      See the links in the video description for some options to make your own cable. The cable is the same one used to reflash the 20b and 30b to a WP 34S so searching for that may provide more results. Many people have successfully made their own cheap simple cables. I was lucky enough to locate an original cable but they are hard to find these days. Hope you can make one to give this a try. See my video on patching the 15C LE firmware to triple the memory too - another reason to acquire/build a cable 😉

      @@CalculatorClique I appreciate the tips. I'll probably hold out for a pre-made cable, and I'm even a bit reluctant to flash the 15C+ just to get rid of the PSE bug, only to introduce older bugs in its place. Thanks

    • @CalculatorClique
      @CalculatorClique  Před 2 lety +1

      Definitely pros and cons to downgrading. I've reflashed mine many times now without a problem so you can always revert to the original version. Maybe go for the release version (with PSE bug) and the memory upgrade patch for triple the memory (see my other video on this).

    Awesome stuff.
    Is the process the same to upgrade a 12C+ (if I find newer firmware)? I currently have a 12C+ with a 2008 firmware and the SST bug that I'd like to upgrade to later 2009 firmware, where the SST bug is fixed. Obviously to make the cable will be more expensive than a to find a newer used 12C, but then, where's the fun?
    On a tangent, do you think it would be possible to repurpose a 12C+ as a 15C?
    EDIT: Thanks to a link you posted in a comment here, I found the needed firmware, made the cable with spare parts I had around and now I have a functional 12C converted into a 15C LE with the memory upgrade and PSE bug free.
    The only problem now is that the 2011 version of the 12C firmware that I found is not compatible with my version of hardware, I need any of the 2009 versions. Do you happen to have it?
    Many thanks!

    • @CalculatorClique
      @CalculatorClique  Před 11 měsíci

      I've been away on holiday and am just back and was about to reply to you when I saw your update. I was going to say you can repurpose the 12C+ with the same hardware to a 15C LE but you've found that out already :-).
      There are a lot of different hardware versions for the 12C (see www.hpmuseum.org/forum/thread-5180.html ) and I only have the original one (not running on the emulator as the newer versions do). I was going to suggest you look at the 12C+ development kit (as per www.hpmuseum.org/forum/thread-1899-post-16911.html#pid16911), however, it appears you've already tried that without any luck.
      I'll have a look around and see if I can find anything. Please let me know if you get it sorted and where to find the firmware as I'm sure others will have the same issue.
      I saw that The Calculator Store is producing a silicon 16C overlay for the 15C CE (it has a 16C mode, unsupported) so might be worth contacting them to see if they will/are making a 15C overlay you can use on your 12C+.

    Hi, first of all, thanks for your video, I have faced same problem of HP 15cLE, would you please advise where I could find the transfer cable, thanks.

    • @CalculatorClique
      @CalculatorClique  Před 11 měsíci

      The original cable is no longer made and finding a secondhand one is very difficult (I don't know how many were originally made). A number of people have made their own cables and there are some links in the video description for making your own so please try these.
      Another option may be to consider purchasing the recently released HP 15C CE (Collector's Edition) which includes fixes for all the known bugs of the LE and runs a little faster.

    • @CalculatorClique
      @CalculatorClique  Před rokem +1

      MySamba is available for download at sourceforge.net/projects/wp34s/files/FlashTool/. This is the WP 34S page for converting a 20b/30b into a WP 34S but the same firmware download program is used with the 15C LE.
      See the following forum article for links to 15C LE firmware: www.hpmuseum.org/forum/thread-18491.html

    • @CalculatorClique
      @CalculatorClique  Před 10 měsíci

      The original cable comes up on eBay occasionally but you might be waiting a while and it's likely to be expensive.
      The cable is the same as the one used to firmware upgrade the 20b and 30b (to a WP 34s) which people have made using the following instructions: web.archive.org/web/20190402142724/www.thereminworld.com/Forums/T/29229/diy-calculator-hp30b-to-wp34s and commerce.hpcalc.org/34showto.php?fbclid=IwAR2gXo4dZ8ezKjovlR69DBF0WAM_WoPLGT9RIZ9gG1XETgi_MUMojjtJ_fM. Worth a try if you can't find a ready made cable. Let me know how you go if you do try to make one.

    Well, I have three of these, one prototype for bug testing and two still in their boxes. Do I leave the bug in like my HP35 red dot or do i flash?

    • @CalculatorClique
      @CalculatorClique  Před rokem

      You can flash it back to the released/original version at any time. Also take a look at increasing the memory size which I covered in a separate video at czcams.com/video/62MsZ68PZGU/video.html. You can mix and match both these options too. I've flashed mine many, many times without a problem.
