Angelina is Norwegian, her full name is Angelina Jordan Astar. Her father is Swedish, her mother is Norwegian from a Japanese father and Iranian Mother Mery Zamani who is a poet and a painter and was a child prodigy in her own rights. She started singing at the age of one and a half when she fell in love with Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You”. A year later she discovered Jazz through her grandmother and showed lot of interest in artists like Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Dinah Washington, and Louis Armstrong. Angelina pestered her mother to enter her in “Simons Show” as she called it from the age of 3. Her mother relented and entered her in Norway Got Talent at the age of 7 where she auditioned with Billie Holiday’s Gloomy Sunday. She went ahead to win the the big prize at the finals where she received 46% of the votes while the remaining 9 finalists combined received 54%. Angelina said she likes singing because she wants to bring joy and love to the whole world. One of her dreams from a very young age was to sing at the Nobel Peace Prize concert. She accomplished that at the age of 8 singing Louis Armstrong’s What a Wonderful World. After winning NGT, she was flooded with offers from major music labels as well as Disney but they were all turned down by her and her family in order for her to continue her education and to protect her artistic integrity. Her uncle/manager in an interview last year he talked about music labels top executives who would fly to Norway on private jets with huge contracts offers but would leave mad and frustrated because they never expected being turned down. Angelina is fluent in Norwegian as well as in English. She also speaks some Swedish which is very close to Norwegian and probably learned it from her father. She also speaks Farsi which she learned from her grandmother as well as some Japanese that she picked up from her grandfather as well as her mom and uncle who lived for a period of time in Japan. She actually performed a Japanese song at a concert in Japan. She also plays several musical instruments. Most of her performances after NGT were for charitable children organizations where she helped to raise millions. At the age of 6 and while travelling in another country with her family, she came across a young orphaned shoeless girl who was weighing people on a bathroom scale for some coins in order to support herself and her siblings. After chatting with her for a while and without prompting from her family, she gave her shoes to the orphan girl. She recorded that incident in her diary and vowed to always sing barefoot when doing that in public to remember that girl and to remind herself and us about the many needy children around the world. At the age of 9 she wrote and published a book about that encounter making her Norway’s youngest published author. Proceeds from that book are donated to children charities. Angelina Jordan has about 150 songs in her repertoire. Late last year she signed with Republic Records as their highest priority new artist. Her versatility is unmatched. Shes 15 here, been singing since 2 an set foot in studio at 6yo. She writes her owns songs and does all arrangements to the 140+ covers she has done. She won norway got talent at 7yo. English is her third language and she plays violin, guitar, piano and flute plus her voice. Also she is an author and makes her own clothing sometimes.

Angelina Jordan won Norway's Got Talent at age 7. All here songs were classic old blues of the Billy Holiday era and she was amazing. By the time she won that competition she had started composing her own performances. At age 9 she did a rendition of "I Put a Spell On You". That song was originally done by Screaming Jay Hawkins, and she modeled her performance after his unique style. That black and white video is one of the most amazing performances I've ever seen. She enters the video as this sweet young child, and when the music starts she becomes some 40 year old blues singer who has seen it all. You see her making some changes to the arrangement in the beginning of hte video, and you see the bass player read it and smile. She is 9 years old in a room full of seasoned professional muscians and she is totally at ease and in charge. She begins the video smiling over a candle with Screaming Jay on it. It's an incredible display of what she will become. Since then I've watched as she conquered America's Got Talent Champions and do covers from Adele to Whitney to Michael Jackson to Elvis. Every one was perfect. She is an incredible talent.

The best young female artist "IMO" just 17 years old today - Angelina sings better than already established world stars. No one can stop Angelina from becoming a world star. That's just how it is! Her first album will be released in 2023 with Republic Records. Over the years, she will become a legend for the great moments in the world. She has plenty of time. Remember she is just 17 tears old, which we forget when we see her perform. Republic Records who should also be praised for appreciating this unique talent.
She's obviously been granted a lot of advice how to not damage her voice. Have a look at the black and white version of "I put spell on you" - which inspired many vocal voaches into a fit about the tricks she was using there. She never repeated that vocal stunt later on.

She began singing jazz when she was 1-1/2. Because her roots are so firmly planted in that genre she is able to evoke much more passion that a non-jazz singer like Adele. Two of the jazz singers she adores are Billie Holiday and Amy Winehouse and can hear bits of those two iconic singers when she sings ballads like this.
The small clip when she was 1 1/2 was not a jazz song it was a pop song. Angelina sings more pop songs than anything else when she is doing covers. Shield is a pop song not jazz. Does she love jazz? Yes but she clearly is not just a jazz singer.

Also, keep in mind that, at 15 years old, she's still in high school, doing homework! When Angelina made her tv debut on Norways Got Talent at 7yrs old (she won the competion at just turned 8) singing Billie Holiday's 'Gloomy Sunday', one of the judges commented on her rasp basically saying it sounded like she had been drinking whiskey since birth. Although she ventures into other genres her foundation will always be in Jazz, her first love. Probably the closest to rock is her cover of Queen's 'The Show Must Go On'. Angelina does have some originals and has also been arranging music since well before her teens. Her arrangement of the 1956 Screamin' Jay Hawkins' original of 'I Put A Spell On You' b&w studio version at 9yrs old usually blows every reactor's minds....her delivery at that age is astounding.

Ken, I wish I could be as eloquent as you have been here in representing Angelina Jordan. I wonder if Mozart admirers were as mesmerized by him as I am by Angelina. Mozart and Angelina are two musical geniuses. My hope is that Angelina continues her musical career and continues to turn out masterpieces. Everything she does knocks me out. I just sit here and think about how people felt about the beauty of the ceiling in the Cistene Chapel, or the sculpture of David, or the Eifel Tower. Angelina is just special along on all of these high, historical accomplishments. Anastasia Luna has only watched one video and seemed somewhat impressed and that is about the same feeling I initially had upon viewing her first performance several years ago. It was performed at a very high and young level. Then, the more presentations I saw, the deeper my feelings grew for Angelina, until I realized that Angelina, to me, is so special that there has never been anyone that musically talented and expressive before. If it doesn't break you down like a 12 gage shotgun, check your pulse. It is a song that has personally helped me with grief. We are not alone, as those we lose are never far, and exist in the tears we shed for them. Her deconstructing of bohemian rhapsody for America's got talent champions edition stunned the crowd to silence as they willed to hear the next note so as a pin could be heard dropping in the back row. It was so impressive that the remaining members of queen gave her the rights to her version. A very moving performance and at 13. I put a spell on you shows the depth of her voice at the tender age of 9, and her ability to channel the greats before her who she embodies as she reintroduced them to the world. Her Whitney Houston cover is equally great for the same reason, and I'd rather go blind, which is my favorite version of the song of all time, no offense to etta James, but credit where it is due. This is one of the best songs she does but the very best, in my opinion, is 'I'm Still Holding Out For You'. She performed this song when she was 10. To answer your question, she started voice lessons when she was 4 and made her first studio recording when she was 6. She won Norway's Got Talent at 7.

She's had quite intensive training since about 4 or 5 years of age, both at the Oslo Waldorf School of Art (her primary school where we see videos of her first experiments with a recording studio at age 6) and in private lessons after school. She has occasionally used questionable techniques to produce impressive effects, but only for very limited times and not repeatedly. Eg her age 9 B&W video "I put a Spell On You" causes knowledgeable coaches to raise concerns, but she has recorded 3 or 4 more performances of that song and never used the questionable techniques again.

Angelina is Norwegian, her full name is Angelina Jordan Astar. Her father is Swedish, her mother is Norwegian from a Japanese father and Iranian Mother Mery Zamani who is a poet and a painter and was a child prodigy in her own rights. She started singing at the age of one and a half when she fell in love with Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You”. A year later she discovered Jazz through her grandmother and showed lot of interest in artists like Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Dinah Washington, and Louis Armstrong.
Angelina pestered her mother to enter her in “Simons Show” as she called it from the age of 3. Her mother relented and entered her in Norway Got Talent at the age of 7 where she auditioned with Billie Holiday’s Gloomy Sunday. She went ahead to win the the big prize at the finals where she received 46% of the votes while the remaining 9 finalists combined received 54%. Angelina said she likes singing because she wants to bring joy and love to the whole world. One of her dreams from a very young age was to sing at the Nobel Peace Prize concert. She accomplished that at the age of 8 singing Louis Armstrong’s What a Wonderful World.
After winning NGT, she was flooded with offers from major music labels as well as Disney but they were all turned down by her and her family in order for her to continue her education and to protect her artistic integrity. Her uncle/manager in an interview last year he talked about music labels top executives who would fly to Norway on private jets with huge contracts offers but would leave mad and frustrated because they never expected being turned down.
Angelina is fluent in Norwegian as well as in English. She also speaks some Swedish which is very close to Norwegian and probably learned it from her father. She also speaks Farsi which she learned from her grandmother as well as some Japanese that she picked up from her grandfather as well as her mom and uncle who lived for a period of time in Japan. She actually performed a Japanese song at a concert in Japan. She also plays several musical instruments.
Most of her performances after NGT were for charitable children organizations where she helped to raise millions.
At the age of 6 and while travelling in another country with her family, she came across a young orphaned shoeless girl who was weighing people on a bathroom scale for some coins in order to support herself and her siblings. After chatting with her for a while and without prompting from her family, she gave her shoes to the orphan girl. She recorded that incident in her diary and vowed to always sing barefoot when doing that in public to remember that girl and to remind herself and us about the many needy children around the world. At the age of 9 she wrote and published a book about that encounter making her Norway’s youngest published author. Proceeds from that book are donated to children charities.
Angelina Jordan has about 150 songs in her repertoire. Late last year she signed with Republic Records as their highest priority new artist. Her versatility is unmatched. Angelina has over 150 covers and other videos that she has recorded between the ages of 6 and 15 which is her current age. She won Norway's Got Talent at the age of 8 and has already established herself as an accomplished Jazz artist. Her preferred genre is Jazz but she has done covers of about every genre you can name. What you will find in Angelina is a vocalist who doesn't do vocal gymnastics, she simply and beautifully interprets the story and meaning of the song and pours her soul into every performance.
Angelina has sung all over the world for Nobel Laureates, heads of state, music icons, and other dignitaries. PLEASE; support Angelina by attending the on-line Christmas Concert on Dec 23, 2021. Angelina Jordan is the most talented person I have encountered in my 74 years of experiencing great music. From 6 to almost 16, she has been amazing people with her unbelievable talent. As of Dec 2021; her social media presence is equally impressive as she’s racked up over a billion CZcams views, and 2.5 billion Facebook views, and has garnered praise from Time, CNN, BBC, and People. She has now done the song “Mercy” in the soundtrack of “Hating Game Movie” that just came out.
There is just no end to this girl’s versatility.

Her family protect her and introduce her very carefully and slowly to the music industry because she’s actually finishing the school. Speak several languages , english is her third language and play also piano, guitar and flute. She’s from Norway. She won Norway’s Got Talent when she was 8 years old.

She won Norway's got talent at age seven, and performed her rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody on America's Got Talent International at age thirteen. (You need to watch that clip!) She primarily does covers for now, but has written several songs. I would suggest watching the live studio version of Million Miles. She wrote that when she was fourteen in honor of her grandfather. Angelina Jordan won Norway's Got Talent at age 7. All here songs were classic old blues of the Billy Holiday era and she was amazing. By the time she won that competition she had started composing her own performances. At age 9 she did a rendition of "I Put a Spell On You". That song was originally done by Screaming Jay Hawkins, and she modeled her performance after his unique style. That black and white video is one of the most amazing performances I've ever seen. She enters the video as this sweet young child, and when the music starts she becomes some 40 year old blues singer who has seen it all. You see her making some changes to the arrangement in the beginning of hte video, and you see the bass player read it and smile. She is 9 years old in a room full of seasoned professional muscians and she is totally at ease and in charge. She begins the video smiling over a candle with Screaming Jay on it. It's an incredible display of what she will become. Since then I've watched as she conquered America's Got Talent Champions and do covers from Adele to Whitney to Michael Jackson to Elvis. Every one was perfect. She is an incredible talent.

I like all of Angelina’s music, especially since she was 10 yrs old. It’s like she grew up real fast from 10 on, although her younger music is very special also. Today, Angelina is 15 years old and will turn 16 on January 10th 2022.

I love listening to Angelina. She is special in so many ways.
The best young female artist "IMO" just 17 years old today - Angelina sings better than already established world stars. No one can stop Angelina from becoming a world star. That's just how it is! Her first album will be released in 2023 with Republic Records.
Over the years, she will become a legend for the great moments in the world. She has plenty of time. Remember she is just 17 tears old, which we forget when we see her perform. Republic Records who should also be praised for appreciating this unique talent.
She's obviously been granted a lot of advice how to not damage her voice. Have a look at the black and white version of "I put spell on you" - which inspired many vocal voaches into a fit about the tricks she was using there. She never repeated that vocal stunt later on.

Speaking of low registers, check out her Elvis Cover of “How Great Are Though”. Also, her raspiness can be heard on many of her earlier songs. They call her the Barefoot Princes of a Thousand Voices. Her first studio recording was when she was six years old and since then, she’s recorded over 120 covers by 70+ artists including some of her original music like 7th Heaven released this year (age 15).

She began singing jazz when she was 1-1/2. Because her roots are so firmly planted
in that genre she is able to evoke much more passion that a non-jazz singer like
Adele. Two of the jazz singers she adores are Billie Holiday and Amy Winehouse and
can hear bits of those two iconic singers when she sings ballads like this.
The small clip when she was 1 1/2 was not a jazz song it was a pop song. Angelina sings more pop songs than anything else when she is doing covers. Shield is a pop song not jazz. Does she love jazz? Yes but she clearly is not just a jazz singer.
Be sure to watch her cover of I Put a Spell on You, the black and white version, it will absolutely blow your mind. She was 9 when she recorded it.

Angelina started holding the mike and singing when she was 18 MONTHS old! Her mother thought it was cute, so she took a short video! Also, keep in mind that, at 15 years old, she's still in high school, doing homework! She HAS written her own songs which, hopefully, will be included on the album she's working on with Republic Records. Angelina is known more for her jazz/pop vocals. Since 2 or 3 years old, she's been listening to and influenced by artists like Billie Holliday, Etta James, Dinah Washington, Nina Simone, Frank Sinatra, Elvis, James Brown, Screamin' Jay Hawkins, Lana Del Rey, Whitney Houston, Queen, Aretha Franklin, Louis Armstrong...the list goes on and on, but no hard rock. When Angelina made her tv debut on Norways Got Talent at 7yrs old (she won the competion at just turned 8) singing Billie Holiday's 'Gloomy Sunday', one of the judges commented on her rasp basically saying it sounded like she had been drinking whiskey since birth. Although she ventures into other genres her foundation will always be in Jazz, her first love. Probably the closest to rock is her cover of Queen's 'The Show Must Go On'. Angelina does have some originals and has also been arranging music since well before her teens. Her arrangement of the 1956 Screamin' Jay Hawkins' original of 'I Put A Spell On You' b&w studio version at 9yrs old usually blows every reactor's minds....her delivery at that age is astounding.

If you want to hear music, listen to anyone. If you want to feel music, listen to Angelina. She will stagger you with her ability to find and bring forth the 'essence', the emotional message of nearly any song. You have far to go with Angelina. She is equally comfortable and equally able to impact us whether singing a cappella, accompanied only by a piano or guitar, in front of professional studio musicians or a 40 piece military band. With her immense vocal toolkit, arranging ability (yeah, that too, since about 8yo or so) and the work ethic to make what she does only 'seem' effortless, she will hopefully be touching hearts for a long time to come. Ken, I wish I could be as eloquent as you have been here in representing Angelina Jordan. I wonder if Mozart admirers were as mesmerized by him as I am by Angelina. Mozart and Angelina are two musical geniuses. My hope is that Angelina continues her musical career and continues to turn out masterpieces. Everything she does knocks me out. I just sit here and think about how people felt about the beauty of the ceiling in the Cistene Chapel, or the sculpture of David, or the Eifel Tower. Angelina is just special along on all of these high, historical accomplishments. Anastasia Luna has only watched one video and seemed somewhat impressed and that is about the same feeling I initially had upon viewing her first performance several years ago. It was performed at a very high and young level. Then, the more presentations I saw, the deeper my feelings grew for Angelina, until I realized that Angelina, to me, is so special that there has never been anyone that musically talented and expressive before. So, when someone likes her performance, but does not understand the magnitude of it, I just say, wait. They will.
Anastasia, after I spent a few minutes gazing at you I began to listen to you and you had a lot to say. You said you are not a vocal coach but some of the stuff you said was fantastic. I cannot and will not believe you can stay away from Angelina. There are many people reacting to her who are into metal and pots and pans and they find the time to incorporate her into their routines. When you hear greatness you should never let it go.

And, I believe your particular fan base will not object to listening to Angelina. To the contrary they will love her.

Her fan base (her 'Angels') have a lot to say about Angelina and rather than one liners like "oh, she's great!" they (including me!) tend to send the reactors "short stories" with loads of info. She's 15. First in studio at age 6. Very elegant inherently. Writes her own songs, wears outfits made of cloth from her grandma's paintings. She's Norwegian, English is one of several languages she speaks. Plays piano, guitar, flute. People regularly cry or get goosebumps listening to her sing. Signed last year with Republic. Piano player is Grammy winner head of A&R and Studios for Republic in LA. I think the highest we've heard her do is Whitney Houston's I Have Nothing. Longest, strongest notes, check out Man's World on stage with military band.
If you want to see the breath of her songwriting check out her first release from republic records. Million miles (I'd go with the live in studio version for the best vocals) was penned by angelina following the death of her grandfather, in tribute. To hear her soulful cry into the void will shred your soul and hers only to delicately put you back together by its abrupt ending. One critic said she has reinvented the music of grief and loss. If it doesn't break you down like a 12 gage shotgun, check your pulse. It is a song that has personally helped me with grief. We are not alone, as those we lose are never far, and exist in the tears we shed for them. Her deconstructing of bohemian rhapsody for America's got talent champions edition stunned the crowd to silence as they willed to hear the next note so as a pin could be heard dropping in the back row. It was so impressive that the remaining members of queen gave her the rights to her version. A very moving performance and at 13.
I put a spell on you shows the depth of her voice at the tender age of 9, and her ability to channel the greats before her who she embodies as she reintroduced them to the world. Her Whitney Houston cover is equally great for the same reason, and I'd rather go blind, which is my favorite version of the song of all time, no offense to etta James, but credit where it is due. Watch the black and white studio version, She was 9 yrs old and the arrangement was all hers. Yes she does write her own music, Million Miles, Shield, 7th heaven and others. Shield is the heaviest, closer to rock than jazz or ballads

Her own songs are: “What is Life” (accoustic version, written and composed age 11/12), “Oslo” (ditto), “Shield” (co-written and -composed age 12), “Million Miles” (co-written and -composed age 14) and “7th Heaven” (again with others age 15). Rumours are she is dropping an album of originals soon, and a launch venue is being sought by her team and Republic Records, who signed her last year after hearing “Million Miles”.
One of her (very many) strenghts is her lower register, you should check out her “How Great Thou Are” AT 12!

Nico Cartusio composed music to an old Scottish poem by R Burns, “A Song for A” and asked Angelina to sing it - pure, pure singing and a killer violin solo at the end.
“Feeling Good” at the Stream gir Tilbake, with a really good jazz band, when Angelina was 10, is stellar!
Started listening to jazz at 3, fell in love with Billy, Ella, Louis etc. Singing lessons from abt 5yo, natural vibrato, absolute prodigy.

Self taught with her recorded mentors Billie Holiday, Ella, Etta, Louis, Frank, Elvis, and many others. With 200 covers and originals online, each one more impressive than the last you will enjoy Angelina's Wonderland of music. Oh, I see this is a year old and you haven't revisited her music. Pity.
She's had quite intensive training since about 4 or 5 years of age, both at the Oslo Waldorf School of Art (her primary school where we see videos of her first experiments with a recording studio at age 6) and in private lessons after school. She has occasionally used questionable techniques to produce impressive effects, but only for very limited times and not repeatedly. Eg her age 9 B&W video "I put a Spell On You" causes knowledgeable coaches to raise concerns, but she has recorded 3 or 4 more performances of that song and never used the questionable techniques again.
You like screams & growls, then listen to Angelina sing ‘I Put a Spell On You’ at age 9, knowing that she did not damage her voice.

In addition to school she got also vocal training at the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program (I read, that this school said, they couldn't teach her more stuff because she has all learned what she could learn in this school ;-) ) - and btw. she plays also grand piano, violin, flute and guitar, make her arrangements herself, wrote a book, sew clothes for herself (partly with art from her grandma like in her first AGT performance and in her music video "Shield").

As Hans-Georg Schröter said, for screams and growls you've got to listen to Angelina's "I Put a Spell on You" (black & white version)! It's an amazing performance that uncannily mirrors Screamin' Jay Hawkins wild recording.
