Lady Macbeth, driven mad by fear and guilt, walks in her sleep. She relives the night of the murder, and washes her hands to cleanse them of blood. ‘Out, damned spot! out, I say! … Here’s the smell of blood still: all the perfumes of Arabia will not sweeten this little hand.’
