Hey Scotty Kilmer I had a question, I have a 2012 Honda Civic LX. One day I noticed my transmission was leaking. Sure enough I found it was leaking from where the CV meets the transmission. So I replaced the seal, then about a week or two later it started leaking so I replaced the seal again. That was two or three weeks ago. Today I looked at the street and saw transmission fluid again. I have 2 thoughts it's either the CV axle or the transmission. I would really appreciate the help if you can thank you
Scotty Kilmer love your videos scotty but what about when youre done from all that work! No beers 🍺 lol just joking great videos like i said and cheers🍻
I hate how easy you make this look
lol
cobra64 he makes 60 sec video for a 6 hours job
Scotty makes his videos in a wormhole and takes advantage of time dilation. 6 minutes of his video is 1 hour for Earthlings.
He probably edited out about 40 minutes of cussin'
@@Shawn_White damn only 40 minuets or cussin? i've lost my voice and a great number of tools working on this @#$$ %##% #$## @#$# transmission axle seal.
Every time I watch you Videos i am always amazed how you can squeeze a couples hours work into a 3 mins video :D
this guys a badass lol
lolol if im not wrong i think they call that editing yea but he's also the fastest mechanic on the planet that's why they call him speedy scotty.lmao
It's about 45 munites of work if your slow
45 minutes.... well, I was replacing a CV axle once on my car, hmmmmm..... about 3 hours with a friend and it didn't work properly. So I put the old one back in - another hour. Got myself a new outer CV joint. About 10 hours of work later the car was on the road.
djvasforever 😂😂😂
Ummm I’m sorry sir... but that may have been the most helpful car repair video I have ever watched. I’m pretty sure this is exactly my issue and I will be giving this a go myself. Thank you!
hi Scotty, your videos are a life and money saver! I have transmission fluid leaking from the scenario you recreated here, so my worry level went down in an instant. I have a 2009 Chevy Malibu and they don't even have a transmission dipstick to check the fluid level! thanks for all the videos!
This video just saved me about 250.
Thanks for sharing the tip about the grease holding the clip. It's stuff like that that really helps you out when you doing something, we appreciate you Scotty very much
Scotty, you make it look so easy... especially doing it all on the ground!
Mechanics with lifts are spoiled
That was aLOT easier than I thought it might be. Its good that those seals are so accessible on that transaxle. Thanks for the vid scotty! you sure make scary sounding jobs seem easy.
Hey Scotty have a merry Christmas and a happy new year. You are a godsend for us folks out here who can't pay that huge repair bill.

well done,simple thank you
You are the man Scotty .. all your videos made me the mechanic I am today
Thanks for the tip on the grease. I have found that it's good to loosen the axle nut before I raise the car. You must have done this, because it came off so easily.
You should have your own show, wish your website was updated
Thank you Scotty from North Houston!
Excellent video. Love your demeanor 💕😂
Love all ur videos. And the Blue Mustang
Great video, showed me exactly what they are doing to my car right now.
Awesome explaination.
Thanks. Very helpful
Hi Scotty, big fan here! Can you make a video changing transmission fluid on a sealed system please? Showing the whole process, It’d be amazing, thank you and fantastic job with the videos!!!
MERRY CHRISTMAS Scotty Kilmer!!!
Thank you Scotty. You are great. You have a awesome personality as well as and everyday man way of saying things. One thing I would like to see in your videos is mention size of certain sockets or wrenches you use. I guess not good though if diffrent cars use diffrent sizes
Thanks Scotty!
hey scotty love your videos .
Have you done a video on transmission fluid in coolant system? Somehow I've got what looks like chocolate milk in my radiator. 😫 You're so helpful on everything, thank you!
very good idea and video,
Quick and simple explanation, is pretty similar for most cars, some will have an intermediate bearing which is held in with bolts, most french cars have this and it's fiddly, just an extra step to remember.
Thanks to your advice, Scotty, I now have a $25 OBD2 scanner, and a brake fluid tester on the way. That's only the beginning of the testers I have on my Amazon wish list. Now if only I had the money and space for an air compressor I can use with my impact wrench...
I still need to get around $500 for a good one, and I'm still saving for the car itself. I'm not making payments, I'm buying straight out.
Makes it look really easy!!
Thanks!!
not all heros wear capes
easy enough ,thank you scott
love your channel quick question
Thanks Scotty!
You are a great help!
Christ Bless!
Man...you make it look so easy!!!!!!
I wish we had you as our mechanic. My grandmother just bought an 01' Honda Accord, which has an expired recall for the transmission, and she's had so many issues with it. The car lot she bought it from is taking care of her because I know the owner but they've put in three rebuilt transmissions and each transmission only lasted about a week. Then after the third one it started having issues again and they said it was a bad sensor.
So they replaced that and then a week later it started having issues again, then they said it was the plug the sensor went into that went bad. So they replaced that and now its back in the shop again after I noticed it was leaking. I checked the oil and it was fine so I was sure it was the transmission fluid, only I couldn't confirm because I couldn't find a way to check the transmission fluid levels.
She was driving it the other day and it started having issues getting going from a stop, then the check engine light came on. She shut it off and waited a few min and turned it back on and the light went off and the car drove fine the rest of the way home. They said they would get her in another car if they couldn't fix it this time, though I would think by now they'd just take it to a Honda Dealership since their mechanic can't seem to fix it.
You a bad man brother 💪👍
I love this guy
Thank you scotty Kilmer pimpin
Dang you make it look so easy!
good vid scotty.
OMG! Dis wat i need to noe. Was confused bcoz in my country it call drive shaft oil seals! Tqvm Scotty! Pls more on Chevy Cruze problem in d future
Nice 👍🏽 job 😊
Thank you.
Thank you
Classic Scotty!
A lot of times when I put seals in I'll use the end of a 2x4 or 2x2 to strike with the hammer. The wood is more forgiving and I can bridge all the way across the seal and drive in both sides at the same time leaving less chance of deforming or ruining the seal.On RWD transmissions there is an output shaft that sticks out beyond the seal. For those I take a hole saw and cut a hole in the flat side of the 2x4 big enough for the shaft to fit through.
I like your style your awesome
Scotty,
Can you make a maintance video that includes everything you have to maintain on a car (changing oils, filters, stuff like that) as well as give basic info about when you should do the maintance?
Getting so unsure of what I should do to keep the car and engieen running for ever.
Also wondering if the "uneven" motors bmw has (the old (1998) is running uneven because of the ventiles?)
I think you forgot a pretty main item on this video which is vehicle speed sensor, for those with automatics. A lot of times people with check trans fluid ( not knowing how to do it and have it read low) then fill it and blow the seal out of the vss.
Thank you sir
I like your video man
Your awesome thanks
You're everything that's good with the world
Nice. Thank you
I don't know if you have done it or not but if you have not, you should do a video on replacing valves and header gaskets
This guy is good, cuts to the chase rather than showing me all the stuff I already know or showing all the steps in fast motion. Bollacks I say!!!
Going to a mechanic for this. But amazing to be able to understand and not be over charged
thanks Scotty you're good .
Tak, tak, wał młotkiem w gwinty od końcówki i półosi a potem nie dziw się że nakrętki się nie dają przykręcić. Proponowałbym użyć ściągacza do końcówek i gumowego młotka do wbijania półosi. Scotty to AMATOR!
Good video
I like how you make it fun buddy
Good Job scotty love your channel.. My question is do you drain the transmission oil before changing the seal?
no
