@@brownbabygirl when couple have joint account and they are honest with each other, and discuss family finance, it improves communication and trust in the relationship. The problem is that we Ghanaians, in some cases our extended family members indirectly have to be supported. So your white spouse sometimes will not agree for you take the family money, (it does not who is the major or solely breadwinner or equal contributors), will not allow you to give it to outsider especially when the other spouse does not do same to friends and family members.
So we need to navigate family finances well.

Based on the information given by an account signer or other signer on account banks can always restrict that very signer off the account , limits their access and give full authorization to just one signer and the other one restricted can only be added back onto the account when permission is given again

Joint account is ok but don’t send all your pay there. Each have own account then joint account for bills and expenses. Have some control. Applies to both men and women.
