- Modern heritage architectural marvel in Pune designed in traditional Rajasthani style architecture using stonework, intricate carving and hand-painting.
One of our best works since our firm's incorporation around 25 years ago, this Palace designed by us has been featured in many Marathi and Bollywood films including 'Dabangg 3' & 'Gori Tere Pyaar Me'. This project was designed by us around 10 years ago and has now become a landmark around Pune.
This magnificent Palace, sprawling across 50,000 square feet is built on a 7 acre piece of land located in Khanapur, near Sinhagad. Sitting on top of a hillock, it has a splendid 180 degree panoramic view of the Sinhagad fort as well as the backwater of Khadakwasla dam. Projects like these are golden opportunities for architects as they get a free-hand in designing and imagining their best version of a structure. So this palace, although completed 10 years ago, holds a special place in our portfolio. The majestic grandeur of the entrance and use of traditional Rajasthani architectural features like jalis, zarokhas, domes, chhatris, brackets and arches is a typical Rajasthani architectural concept. A huge decorative entrance gate takes us to the palace through a small but a royal journey. Internal roads take turns through the landscape to reach the higher contour, where one has to cross a Durga Goddess temple which is the private property of our client. A decorative paved driveway takes us to the double height massive porch with a balcony, which portrays sheer imposing grandeur with typical Rajasthani design elements and carvings hand-crafted by the skilled artisans of Rajasthan. A huge, circular lush green lawn provides a royal appeal to the palace. Elegantly carved pink sandstone has been used to achieve the perfect Rajasthani atmosphere. Semicircular entrance foyer is ornamented with beautiful arches hand-carved by skilled Rajasthani artisans.
A huge wooden door flanked by stone-carved elephants welcome guests in a traditional way. As we enter the grand 1600 square feet living room, its 45 feet height covered by RCC dome provides a sense of space like nothing else. The living room boasts of an artistically hand painted ceiling dome of 40” diameter. Interiors are highlighted by different types of jali work which is decorated with embedded Belgian glass. Use of Jaisalmer stone and Italian marble is predominant in the interiors. Living area is ornamented with two symmetric decorative staircases which have remarkably beautiful hand-painted soffits. Ornate and nicely carved railings of first floor passage-way are supported with hand-carved columns and Mayur arches. Two symmetrically Zarokhas on either side of the elevator overlook the passage. Coming to the luxurious master bedroom, one feels wrapped in luxury. Dark upholstery and decorative golden work over the furniture multiplies the luxury quotient. The ceiling and all the walls are clad with decorative hand paintings against Italian marble flooring with inlay work. All bedrooms have Zarokhas, which displays a typically Rajasthani architectural element. The dining room has extravagant, royal furniture and a hand-painted ceiling. Decoration of silver and golden work, embossing and engraving has been done to get extravagant royal interiors. The exterior elements of Rajasthani architecture merge seamlessly into the interiors.

Abhi ke time par bna aisa palace maine aaj tak nahi dekha phir kabhi rajasthan jana hua to ise dekh kr hi aunga or aise architect or aise artist jinhone ye kam kiya hai unki jitni tarif ki jaye kam hai.
To be honest, there are a many architects who can create this, but very who can make the client feel so involved and happy about it.
I'd also like to say that something massive like with free reign isn't something that happens often. It's a once in a lifetime opportunity - so I'd say this same project would not have happened with another client! This client was so humble. I think it was destined for the architect and the client to collaborate for creating this beautiful structure. Great work!

It is unbelievable. It remind me all palaces from Jaipur, jodhpur and jaiselmer. Fist I could not believe that this palace built recently. I thought it is one of palace from Rajasthan state. Excellent workmanship and other : I don't have word for this. In last would like to say arts and architecture in India is still alive.

Feels good when our client accepts our vision and gives freedom to explore possibilities and funds project. Advise to clients-Always trust experts, the end result will be excellent.
This is a marvel to look at no doubt about it specially the ceiling work is out of this dimension. Kudos to the perceiver of such intrequite design and the artists to pull that off. Hats off to the whole team.
However, I think, the floors and the landscape of the property are also fine but they do not do complete justice to the magnificent status of this building. Bedroom furnishings could also use some magical touch to their appearance and scale. Tv could have been hidden away in the wall( make it mechanized and retractable of some sort) in order to hide the modern away from the classic and other small minute things like that could have brought up the potential of this place to its prime but this is a great project indeed as it is as well.
I can never dream of living in such a place. My sincere well wishes for the owner. He seems such a humble and down to earth person. This is rare these days. Money and humbleness is a unique combination. Huge Respects.

Very grand spaces. Magnificent interior design; extraordinary detail work; very relaxing. And the palace looks so beautiful in that lush Pune landscape. Now I’m going to watch the video again. I would like to add that the videographer did a fine job, but the bland and colorless background music in the opening section was an odd choice. Traditional Indian music would have been much better.
