  • In this video I am carving out a wooden spoon from European Aspen in the woods of Sweden.
I am using some fine Gränsfors Bruks axes to chop off the most of the wood to form the spoon/ladle. Then using some mora knifes for the fine work.
    Tools used in this video:
    Gränsfors Bruks small forest axe
    Gränsfors Bruks mini hatchet
    morakniv 120
    Mora Classic No1, carbon
    Mora 164 Hook knife
    Pencil

      Hi Erik
This may sound like a daft (that is a Scottish word which means "silly"! ) question, but do you still make them, and do you sell them?
Much more beautiful than the machine made ones, and I would certainly be interested in buying one.

Lovely spoon! I've watched all your videos in the last couple of weeks. I skipped this one and now appreciate the level of skill you had before tackling the cabin. The way you make videos encourages mindfulness practice. I was washing dishes last night, after watching the latest cabin video. There was pleasure in attending closely to what my hands were doing. Making your mindful craftsmanship available for others to slow down into shows a generosity of spirit and also optimism in your belief in the attention span of your viewers.

For convex wooden objects as far as sanding is concerned, it is better to make a stick "in your hand" 8x6 cm nicely smooth and straight and square square.Wrap glass paper in it to sand the wood and sand it like this. Better than on your knees. Faster and easier work. Glue felt with wood glue. For luxury sanding
