Meet the Commando Elite: toy action figures with an attitude. They've escaped from their boxes along with the Gorgonites, kindhearted but unusual looking creatures. Now teenager Alan Abernathy gets enlisted to help the Gorgonites and rescue the girl of his dreams before the whole town is turned upside down.
Blending live action with the state-of-the-art computer animation, Small Soldiers will feature animatronic designs and effects created by the Stan Winston Studio, headed by multiple Academy Award winner Stan Winston. The cutting edge CGI effects will be produced by Oscar winning Industrial Light and Magic, under the supervision of Stefen Fangmeier, David Andrews and Kim Bromley.
A co-production of DreamWorks Pictures and Universal Pictures, Small Soldiers tells the story of an all-out war between the Gorgonites, a small but intrepid band of monstrous looking creatures, and the war-loving Commando Elite, led by Major Chip Hazard. But this is not some alien battlefield; this is suburbia, United States of America, and the soldiers are prototypes of the most advanced action figures ever created.
In this action-packed film, toy soldiers, enhanced with top-secret military computer chips, go to war in a suburban neighborhood, threatening human children and adults in the process.
