- This is my Tribute to Merle Dixon and the amazing performance that Michael Rooker brought to the character. This character along with Shane are the most interesting and complex characters ever to be in the show.
He will be greatly missed and If you go thru the show has without a doubt, the most heroic death.

Shane's sendoff was the most dramatic of the entire series. Rick and Shane's standoff was intense.

My own brother died that same day. and Merle is still my favorite character on the show. You can only imagine how much I cried on that episode when I saw it just a few days late.

@@nahuelgalmarini117 The only one that would've stood a chance is Merle. Shane is too stupid and The Governor just doesn't have the resources, plus he ended up being an impulsive animal. Abe isn't even tough enough.

The scene with Merle and Hershel was freaking awesome. That quote from the bible (even if you believe in God or not) was perfect for Merle's condition from the beginning to his end.

He didn't really need anyone. If he shot that single bullet that was aimed for the Governor faster instead of waiting for two seconds whilst he had him in his crosshair, he would have basically single-handedly saved everyone. I don't know why he took so long, but at least he killed most of the Governor's top and "trained" men. If Merle hadn't done what he did, Rick's group would be dead.

I miss Merle Dixon the most of all the ones who died. I think he was the best actor TWD ever had. His subtle facial expressions were Unreal. So good. There was so much more that coulda happened with him, the potential was unlimited. He's the anti-good guy, in fact he was pretty much a cunt, yet he LOVED Darryl and would do ANYTHING for his bro. He was even changing cause of his bro. Guys like that always gets me.

Daryl is my favorite character but, in respect for his brother I am really sad that his is gone. merle might have been an asshole but he still had a heart I could see it in his eyes, his words were cold but his eyes told another story

im never going to get over his death
This death probably had the most impact on me thus far. Especially after having grown attached to Merle after I had played Survival Instinct which I had played before I saw season three. It was unfair how Merle was never really accepted into the group which was all he really wanted after the Woodsbury incident because that was where his brother chose to stay. To make matters worse everyone except for Daryl and Mishone looked at him as a monster and the man to do all the dirty work.

That--that was absolutely BEAUTIFUL! The way you worded it all. "Why I do the things I do..." I think this was why so many people disliked him--because of the things he did. But the reason so many MORE people loved him was because he was a mystery up until the end.

I wish he was still in the walking dead. I liked him when I saw him beat up t-dog. I can relate to Merle and now he died for his brothers safety and I honor that. Im going to miss him in season 4, I just hope his name comes up often.
