Have you got your visa (ETA) to enter Australia?
I had a big travel adventure. Travelled down from the North East of England to London and the lines were down. My friend and I were flying to Florida the next day. We just made it for the flight and we flew into a big hurricane. Going through Orlando International Airport, I was questioned by the customs, why was I coming to America, I said for a holiday and staying with a friend, they wanted to know the address, the address was in my luggage, which they took. However that was sorted out, when we met by my American friend came and sorted it out. There is worse though, we nearly got shot by the police. That was one big adventure!
You should visit China, big country more fun!!!
You should buy tickets to China now they all are in Asia.
People who work their way out of a problem are not dumb! Can't believe that internet speed.
Hey Allison, could you maybe give Eric a nice jab in the ribs the next time he talks over you, I mean it is really really annoying and disrespectful, it's like the guy can't stand anyone's voice but his own!!!!! Oh yeah and he never takes a breath.
Fell asleep on a UK Train and woke up 70 miles from home in the train depot lol
Been there, was woken up by the cleaner at 1.30 in the morning. Luckily only one station from mine but the taxi home was expensive at that time of the morning!
@@delukxy been there done that too, got drunk one night got on the first morning train, and fell asleep and woke up having done an entire circuit of the rail system.
Oh no, that sucks!
I would have spontaneously combusted somewhere along the line (but, hey, I'm 70, and you are darling and enviously filled with such health and energy and good spirit). Just the glimpse of Vietnam you show excites me. Can't wait.
You both did just fine! You travel full time! You don't always have to get it a hundred percent correct. And we all are learning from you.
I really like that your post these types of videos. Travelling is great but there are times that it sucks. Glad you made your flight!
I am glad that you share all the highs and lows of traveling. That's why I love your channel because I always learn something such as having a Visa. Yesterday we just booked a cruise out of Sydney, Australia and because of you I paused the video and checked about us needing a Visa. Thanks to you we won't be having any problems since now I know about checking If a Visa is needed.
Got on a train in Switzerland once late at night. I was very impressed; it left on the exact time the timetable said, but was very, very empty. Train pulled away, then some cleaners came through and started cleaning, but became agitated when they saw me. I don't think they were Swiss or German, and language was difficult, but I basically worked out they were surprised to see me. They gestured for me to stay put. The train pulled in. I stayed put, confused. The train had pulled into a train depot, down some sidings. The doors didn't open, then suddenly the train driver appeared down the carriageway. He explained, kindly, I was on the wrong train as I had read the "Weekend" timetable, and this was a weekday. He then proceeded to walk me all the way back down the tracks, about half a mile, to get me back to the station!
I'll save "the day I shut down Belfast airport" for another day....
Whaaaat
That was so scary! So happy you made it. Can't wait to see more of where you are staying, eating, and experiencing! I've never thought about visiting Vietnam but maybe it'll be added to the list after your vlogs! Thank you! Dani
and it all worked out :) have fun where ever you two are now!
Thanks mate! Yeah we were super relieved once we finally got past immigration đ
@@Theendlessadventure been in that position before :) way back in the day train doesnt mention it goes through a certain country when the passengers mention it does. Luckily the new train line did not anymore. Yikes
Stuff goes wrong sometimes when you travel. A good attitude makes a difficult situation so much better! Love yâall canât wait to see Vietnam!
So true! I believe their good attitude went a very long way! Smiling can go a LOT further than yelling.
The way you problem solved reflects how seasoned you are at travelling đ Loved that you didnt give up and kept pushing through.
An amazing end to a stressful day!! Looking forward to Vietnam, and more foodie adventures!!
Well done you guys! Really felt for you we have all had days like that!!
I love it that you are so honest about the problems and difficulties of travelling when they occur because it is helpful and a warning to us less well travelled folk. It's good to know in advance what can potentially go wrong and have some idea what to do about it. Your vlogs are educational. After a decade in which travel was not an option for me I hope to go to Paris later this summer which for me is a big deal. I'm so looking forward to seeing your films from Vietnam as it looks like a beautiful country but I've only ever seen glimpses on the TV news and then only in the context of war and politics so it'll be great to get a closer view of the real place and people. I live in Bristol UK where you have visited.
You Got The Visas In -- ONE HOUR ??!! That is amazing. Well done for not giving up and trying. What an adventure!
You guys are fearless! Glad in the end everything came together.
You guys are THE BEST to travel with- everything goes wrong but you keep positive and get through the other side
You guys are not dumb. I really enjoyed this video, ÂŽcause I value how well youÂŽre able to describe and get across a situation like this, despite some restrictions to film! Good job!
Adventurers never give up!! Looking forward to seeing Viet Nam through your lens!
Oh my, what a thriller. But you did it! I'm very much looking forward to see your Vietnam vlogs :D
So stressful but glad to see that you made it safe & sound. Looks like a beautiful spot & I'm excited to see more!
What a doozy of a travel day! Yikes! The reward at the end was worth it. Good beer and fast wifi... and those epic views of course đ- Trevor
Looking forward to your Vietnam vlogs. Looks wonderful :)
You guys are incredible for surviving an arduous day. I wish you a safe trip in Vietnam
Oh Gosh everything was wrong, but you made it. I like how cool you were and not freaking out :) Can't wait for Vietnam's vlogs
well done guys another frickin awesome vid! can't wait for more!! :)
I realize people might be making fun of you for not having all your travel documents planned out ahead of time, but itâs videos like this that empower us on how to handle similar situations if/when they happen to us. Thank you for doing such a great job as travel youtubers!
It shows your experience in travels around the world to be able to think quick, search for solutions along the way and not let your spirits down, but man oh man, I am sure you felt the stress. That big bed in the cottage is also a nice change from your tiny, tiny apt in Hong Kong. And adventures in Australia forthcoming ! So awesome and canât wait ! â€ïž
*Amazing you were able to get the visa in an hour!*
I was just thinking that!! xx
Good job you were not a foreigner trying to get into Trump's America, you would have no chance.
In Southeast Asia, cash walks
Another great vlog! We love to follow your adventures even things go wrong đđđ
I watch several travel shows and since I am really a homebody at heart, none of the locations make me long to be able to travel. Until this one. The moment you showed you two walking under that cliff, with the water and the lillies and the bamboo, I have finally found a location that I long to see. Thank you for that.
Great video. S-happens. Glad you made it safe and sound. Wow..great accommodations. Looks like a beautiful place to visit.
Oh gosh, guys. Props for (at least on the surface) keeping your cool through all that! Can't wait to see more of Vietnam, I literally gasped when you arrived at the Airbnb.
Amazing! Iâm exhausted just watching you! â€ïž
This was so interesting, you guys did well in the end đ our worst travel day was from Memphis to Chicago on Amtrak, our train was a full 8hrs late. But the information on the delay was so bad we couldn't go anywhere because we had no idea when it would arrive. Also, it was overnight so we spend the night on a bench at Memphis train station!! Awseome
My eyes literally got soo big when I saw that beautiful view, heart rate increased as I was in awe
Nice video I really like how honest you are and real....very natural. No posing and fake smiling and ranting about positivity. I'm sure you know the vlogs I'm talking about. Keep it real you can't go wrong. :)
Any travel day where you arrive alive is a good travel day...they just each have varying levels of insanity!
Ds
Wow, that was a super stressful travel day, but thankfully all worked out in the end. I have been lucky when I traveled: a few times running through the airport to make a connection, but never missed a flight. Your accommodation in Vietnam looks lovely; can't wait to see what you have been up to.
Doh! :) At least it worked out in the end. I went to Ninh Binh too, stayed in a similar sort of place by a swamp.
I saw your tweet from a few days ago. I just booked a trip to Vietnam today. Can't wait to see how you explore it. Strange roadside antics?
When i was in Japan, it was Saturday morning and i had been out the previous day shopping for cheap electronics in Akihabara. Then at night i went out and partied and got drunk with people from the embassy and their friends, because it was my last night in Japan. I woke up hungover and barely looking out of one eye while i am laying in bed, i see the boxes of electronics from the shopping the day before. And my eye hones in on small writing on the side of the box " NOT SUITABLE FOR AUSTRALIA "
It was an instant wake up, get dressed run down to reception ask for a taxi, rush to Akihabara and exchange the electronics for Australian suitable electronics, get back to the hotel, shower, pack , check out and get to the airport before i am too late for the flight. I made it by the skin of my teeth.
I turned up at an airport a day too early ...so I feel your pain!
better than a day late....which I have done đ
Me too! đđđ
I would have been freaking out! Iâm a good traveler only when everything goes right.đ Gad youâre safe and sound.
good luck guys! i hope you have a great time in vietnam
Great job! Be safe, looking forward to you next video...
well done guys, glad ye arrived safely in the end.
You two are fantastic! Thanks for sharing.
You guys are so sweet and so awesome...way to get through all that. Love you both.
Not dumb, just a great adventure, thanks guys enjoy your time ther
I really want to visit Vietnam. Saving to my list of vids for inspiration (and tips)
If you travel, you make mistakes. I went to Manuel Antonio and didn't realize I needed to pre-order tickets for the National Park but also wasn't sure what we would be doing. I've only got two major international trips under my belt but I've learned quickly two things: Not everything will go right and you'll never see it all. Thanks for the great videos.
That would be so stressful, holy cow. What an amazing service that tye could do a visa so dang fast. That's mind-blowing.
What a crazy day, what a beautiful place. Unreal.
Omg! Kudos to both of you. In such rush situation and still able to document it with your camera. Airport nightmare happened on me before, where I boarded the plane and ready to take off for LA from Iceland. I got called up and left the plane due to no transit visa for Canada. I was stranded for 24hrs in Keflavik Int Airport and got next flight the next day. TOTAL NIGHTMARE!
Anyway, Iceland is such an amazing country. Made a 5mins time lapse video. Ready to back there again.
Yay đ... you made the plane!âïž Enjoying Your Vlogs... Best wishes.
When I went to Vietnam, I had to go through the same process. It also took them one hour to stamp my passport and my suitcase was on the side too ahaha. Some things never change!
I can relate so much to this...this is me on every trip I take!
My favorite video! I can totally relate to your travel craziness!
Jesus, this reminds me of my last travel. I had so many issues it was almost overwhelming. Last time we ever do 6 countries in 2 weeks.
What a day indeed! My worst travel so far was zig zagging through the US. I was supposed to fly from Sacramento to Chicago to Barcelona. Due to bad weather, they sent me from Sacramento to Phoenix, from there to Dallas from there to Chicago and then from there finally to Barcelona. At the end I took the flight to Barcelona I was supposed to take but only had 10 minutes to run from Gate to Gate and was the last one to board the plane. I feared that my luggage was still in Chicago but everything went well and I arrived home on time. It was a crazy day but at least I made it.
I would so be having a meltdown if I was in the same position, but you just take it all in your stride and keep smiling. đ
Victoria Garford I would have one meltdown or maybe two. I would just give upđ€Łđ€Ł
Woah crazy!! We havenât had a day like this yet, hoping we never have to! But I suppose it makes for a great video right! Way to stay positive!
Believe it or not I love when you film đ„ on travel days. I actually get to see the âbehind the scenesâ on what it is like to travel place to place to different countries. It is very intriguing especially for those who only got to travel domestically.
I donât think I would have coped as well as you guys. You both looked extremely stressed. No one is perfect, itâs the way you deal with the situation that counts. Hats off to you both. Have a wonderful time. đ
I was watching your old video and kaboom this one puped up!
You guys are so wonderful. Love guys. Have in on your trip đđ»â„ïžđđ
đ
Another great video guys
looking forward to more vietnam content! enjoy guys :)
Interesting to learn about the VISA issue you had. I first learned about your channel (since subscribed) when looking for Stockholm reviews since that has been my only travel outside US and Canada. Last December on way back from Sweden I lost my small travel bag that had my passport as I was leaving for the airport. I had to remain in Sweden fro a couple weeks until I could get replacement- not such a bad thing as it could have been since I had very kind relative put me up. When I go back to Sweden next time, I plan to use the Busabout outfit that provides hop on-off service through Continental Europe, dropping off and picking up at hostels. I find your videos well edited, entertaining, and have useful info not provided elsewhere, and have recommended your channel to fellow travelers.
Goodness me you guys! That would have definitely made me cry at the point of the very beginning. The whole visa thing, goodness me guys. Iâm glad youâve made it to Vietnam though! Iâm excited to see everything though. Iâm excited for all the nature after the big city!
Lol I love you guys, seriously so real and raw lol
packed my return ticket back to Manchester (UK) from New York remebred only just in time! Cue frantically unpacking suitcase at the check-in!
I guess the worst thing happened to me (which is actually not that worse) was forgetting my phone in a taxi to the airport in istanbul last year, on my way from istanbul to cappadocia. At the first moment it was a nightmare (flight tickets, etc. on the phone), but a nice turkish man helped me calling the hotel i stayed in and ordered the taxi from and also calling my phone laying in the taxi. I got it back only 15min later.
Saved!
I used to travel frequently for work and have had many missed connections and cancelled flights. My most memorable flight was returning home to Boston from Barbados on a charter. The plane did not have the range to reach Boston nonstop and had to stop in Puerto Rico to refuel. After refueling we took off and began circling the island. The pilot announced that the radar was not functioning. Normally planes are not allowed to fly over water without radar. They were eventually given permission to continue to Miami. The charter company was sending a part for the radar from Cleveland to Miami. We landed in Miami and got off the plane. After waiting about four hours in Miami the radar was repaired and we continued our flight to Boston.
Amazing and so ingenious of you to have problem solved on the fly like you did! My biggest travel snafu with kids in tow, was to think we could offboard a cruise and get to airport an hour away in time for flight.. WRONG... in spite of getting off ship super fast, we were literally 5 minutes late for them to check our luggage. The guy said he was "locked "out (we were still 45 min away from flight). Soooo we had to reschedule and it was spring break. Ended up having to stay at a airport hotel overnight and then take a flight home the next day with layovers... sigh... wont make that mistake again!
Omg love this video, Iâve never been in this situation however Iâm travelling to Vietnam from United Kingdom, we donât need Visas luckily so that part I wonât need to stress about but I wouldnât have stayed so calm like u have but well done for getting all way there it looks amazing
Everything in life happens for a reason, and you guys had that all happen because you were waiting for the visa and buying the tickets! So congratulations! Donât stress and Iâm glad you selectively chose to film! Wouldnât ever want to put you guys in a bad situation!
Childhood disease?
Glad you made it đ
Wow,the suspense, I think I would freak out if I was in your situation. Luckily you have each other. Can't wait for the Sydney guides xx
So happy it worked out for you! We all have those days. We haven't had anything quite that bad but recently in London I thought my flight was at 1pm but it was at 11am ( I had the time of the flight going to London still in my head). I only found out because going to check in (at the small London airport) the lady was like "there are no flights to Amsterdam for 6 hours". Yep. Missed it! Had to book that next flight for almost double what I paid for the first one. Felt like a dummy!
Bet your glad too many days don't start like this?.enjoy the better days and carry on the great videos your both making.been following since 20k and now look at you guys, safe travel ,stay safeâ€ïž
I do enjoy your videos. Reminds me of our trip to Vietnam...
omg the same thing happened to me couple years ago on my first time traveling international! But it was on a weekend so I wasn't able to get my visa within hours like you guys did. Ended up sleeping at HKG for 2 nights until the "office" open on Monday and issue me a visa. I learn it the hard way lol
That morning is the definition of "just winging it"
With a healthy dose of aghhhh!
Traveling sometimes can be more stressful than working. Welcome to Vietnam! Come to Hue, the old capital of Vietnam. It's beautiful. :)
Wow what a chaotic day! When it rains, it pours...But at least it ended with that awesome dinner! Can't beat all-you-can-eat for $5
I feel your pain. I've been THAT guy that's last on the plane after being paged.
It was worth it because Vietnam is such an amazing country to explore!
After all the trouble you both are still seemingly in good spirit! I enjoy watching your video. Thank you. Did you travel in the summer season?
take a LOT of deep breaths! you are in a beautiful country now! Mark from Bournemouth
Wow that was truly a nightmare, thank goodness you were able to get the visa.
There are so many things that can go wrong in traveling to another country. Especially when you donât know the language. My first international trip was to Thailand. Our flight from LA to San Francisco was delayed landing due to fog. So we got sent to another terminal and so when we asked where the international terminal was we got sent to the wrong entire place. Waited in a long line and found out it was wrong so was sent to another wrong place. Fortunately the third line the person knew what was up and expedited our bags and told us to run because it was about 10 mins for the flight to leave and it was a 15 trek to the right terminal. So we did as she said: RUN! We made it. Barely. Layover in Japan. As they called for us to board for our connecting flight we fortunately thought about our luggage. And turns out it had only been sent to Tokyo so they had to go search for our luggage and send it in the flight with us. Fortunately all I brought was carry in but my travel partner had a big suitcase she had checked. 24 hrs of travel later we get to our deluxe hotel. It was a whirlwind trip but met people who Iâm friends with to this day. Had amazing adventure in Bangkok, Phuket and Singapore. It spurred me to return 15 years later after my cousin moved there. From it I learned to travel light, be open to new cultural experiences and meet people. Thatâs what itâs all about. So awesome you are embracing that philosophy and hot to see the world from a new perspective. The misadventures just makes for better stories to laugh about later
Awww man guys! I was like what the heck đ But glad all is well. Now bring those new sites!
I love you guys i soooooo enjoy your videos and it looks beautiful there
Love your clips, it's almost like I'm there with you, too.
I love the spontaneity of your trips, I would freak out, if I wouldn't plan a trip at least one month in advance. I can't wait for your clips from Australia, that is my next big trip, also, but unfortunately I have to save some money before that.
PS: Wikipedia has a great overview of visa requirements for US citizens, maybe save it on your phone and check the list the night before your next flight, or maybe a little bit earlier ;-)
Vietnam is great! Youâll love it
For me, the craziest experience was a couple of years ago in Katowice Airport, Poland. We just got called for boarding everyone jumped up and started queuing as this was before the days of allocated seating. Our plane was literally in front of us but the check-in screen suddenly said Check-in Suspended, we got no information at all until we saw a massive tire on the back of a truck being taken to our plane. To top this off an elderly man from the queue decided to smoke and activated the automatic fire alarms and we got evacuated. Surprisingly we still managed to land on time
The next đ»đł Vietnam videos...I...CAN...NOT...WAIT! đ
No dissing here. You guys are great :)
omg hahahaah thats so funny, ALMOST the same happened to us yesterday!! we had to book a flight out of the philippines while we were waiting in the Check-In Line at the airport in Bali. We booked tickets to vietnam HAHA! and then they charged us for apparently overstaying for 2 days in Indonesia. and we made it to the Gate 10 minutes before the flight was about to leave!!! WHAT A STRESSFUL MORNING, glad you guys made it. at least we know now that we should always have a ticket out of the country... and a visa for vietnam :D great vlog guys!!!
