- In this video, Biology Professor (Twitter: @DrWhitneyHolden) will describe EMB agar and discuss the background information to understand how this media works. Specifically, this media is selective for Gram-negative bacteria and differential for fecal coliform bacteria. The special case of bacteria, like E. coli, who can grow with a metallic green sheen is also discussed.
