Only way he would of been charged is if they found evidence that he wanted to kill Jeff, otherwise it was just a stunts gone wrong like the hundreds of other stunt people who've been killed in stunts.
The way David reacted to the accident is appalling. Anyone with morals would be so apologetic to Jeff, paying for his surgeries, staying by his side every step of recovery, as well as educating viewers about safety & staying safe while filming. David did everything wrong & not once did he take accountability or show empathy. Jeff will be suffering from these injuries & trauma for the rest of his life.

You can tell David doesn't want to take the blame. He says he does, but he doesn't, you can tell by how he phrases his sentences, like it was something that happened, that was out of his control. Just a really bad thing that happened to him. Instead of speaking like I did this really bad thing, I feel like an asshole. I'm responsible for what happened to Jeff and I can't stomach the guilt. I feel like people aren't acknowledging Jeff is obviously going through the stages of grief. His life is now irrevocably different, and we can grieve an old life in the same way we can grieve a friend passing. The first 2 years after the accident was Jeff in the denial stage. Denial that his eyesight may never come ALL the way back to what it was, Denial that his friendships may now need to change, and Denial of the fact that this situation might be more than just a momentary setback. But now I think Jeff is in the anger phase. He is recognizing that his life has changed forever, he's not fucking happy about it, and 'fuck anyone who thinks I fucking asked for it'. So to David I would say, being a friend means loving someone through this and continuously trying to prove you are sorry for the pain you caused them. It means being the bigger person because their anger is so much bigger and deeper than you (or they) can possibly understand right now. And to Jeff, I would say to please get therapy. Not to forgive David, not to gain an understanding of why this happened, but just so you can find peace. Good luck dude.

No one forced him to. This isn’t a cut and dry case, it’s likely a judge will find them both at fault and if that’s the case, Jeff isn’t going to win
Poor Jeff has PTSD from this situation and David just continues to be on his platform like nothing ever happened. I do think Jeff needs to work on healing and moving on, but people need to give him time. This is still very fresh… he hasn’t even full recovered yet

I don't understand exactly why Jeff so deeply wants David to take responsibility and say he did it. Saying I DID IT sounds like it was purposeful. There's a different way to word it without trying to have either person seem on some sort of high ground in the situation. David could have said, "I am sorry that I played a part in this accident that happened to you" . Because that is what it was. An accident. No words of guilt or responsibility will change the outcome of what's happened, so the best course of action is to SIMPLY move on and accept it for what it is.

I got assaulted back when I was 19. Was blind side cheap shotted by a huge, athletic, psychotic dude. Broke my orbital, shattered my jaw, and I was left with brain damage and a face full of metal plates. Have come a long way from then now, but the guy was never charged a single cent to aid me in any of my medical bills or suffering. Not a single one. Really feel for ya Jeff, and I truly do know how it feels, and the effect from it all psychologically. At least you’re getting a large sum of your payments taken care of by him though, and I’m not trying to guilt anything onto you here. I can tell you’re a really resilient guy, who believes in personal accountability, as I also do myself. This will all one day be a blessing to your life and worldview though. As cringe as that may seem for me to say now, I can promise to you that you’ll continue to reap value from this all moving forward. Wish you the best my man.

There’s a lot of armchair therapists in these comments implying that Jeff has to be less angry about the situation in order to get past it and that’s such bullshit. Just a reminder that anger is a valid emotion and especially in a situation like this he has every right to be angry and denying the anger and trying to suppress it and move past it for the sake of peace or reputation obviously did more harm than good for the past two years. Anger makes others uncomfortable and it’s probably the least accepted emotion but it is a completely valid emotion that actually helps the healing process. So I agree and it’s not something others should encourage anyone to suppress, ever!
Something to note that tells you about Jeff and his character growth is how he handles the whole video, when he could be cursing and shouting at him instead. He's not even directly shitting on david (which he easily could and has right to as well), instead he's just defending himself from the lies which in turn is exposing david.
Everything he says makes sense and even then he's trying to be understanding to David, continuing to give him the benefit of the doubt at times.
Jeff even admits his faults and takes accountability in spite of it being embarrassing.

Please actually watch David's podcast video without pausing all the way through because the version in this video is heavily edited and not finished all the way through. If you were to watch it I believe you would see the intention, caring, and hurt of David and the video. He apologizes and takes full responsibility many times during it none of which were in this video but were in the original. It was an accident that changed many things in these peoples lives, relationship, happiness, and self image. Jeff is understandably emotional so his take of the video is highly emotionally charged and unable to really listen to what it being said and the intention behind it. You shouldn't be emotionally charged watching David's full video because it didn't happen to you so I believe you will benefit greatly from an unfiltered view of it. I feel sorry for both of them.

I went through something life changing and traumatic well at the hands of someone else. The guy acted just like David and switched the blame on me, and made it seem like it wasn’t his fault. I still suffer from PTSD from it over 4 years later and I felt you so hard on when you are defending yourself on your podcast. You lost so much, you had to change your life, change your friends, and your health will never be the same. yet he just keeps talking about how much he “suffered” and like his “yes men” just keep laughing and going along to what he is saying to keep making money. What I'm trying to say is that Jeff has a lot of preconceived notions about David and I feel that is why he's not able to see the good in him. And, I don't blame him for that. Nobody is more authorized to do that, but Jeff.

Paying Jeff's bills is the least he could do. It doesn't compensate for the trauma and time Jeff couldn't work nor is it compensation if he loses his sight. Just watching Natalie laugh and smile was inappropriate to say the least and David saying he wanted to make a great video and do something bigger and more risky at always someone else's expense, and risk someone else's life, never his own. Communicating isn't hard when you have empathy and compassion and genuinely feel bad for what you did to someone and take responsibility.
