  • Originally built in 1855 by George Hockersmith, the Switzer Covered Bridge is located atop the northern portion of Elkhorn Creek in rural Franklin County, KY. The bridge is considered a Howe Truss design. It is 120 feet long and 11 feet wide. The bridge was rebuilt in 1998 due to flooding and is now on the National Historic Register. The bridge can be visited by the general public during daytime hours. Viewing is closed at 7PM. #coveredbridge #coveredbridges
