As a Mavs fan I can’t be mad at him for choosing family and financial security over everything else. I hate the fact that we lost him for nothing, but I’m truly happy for him.
But the problem is knowing this for a long time and not putting the Mavs in a position to trade him to there before it was too late. He knew for a very long time he'd be there.
I'm happy for him but I was hoping for a sign and trade or something. Lost our 2nd best player for nothing
Yeah we aren’t mad about him leaving just a bit upset that he couldn’t even get us a 2nd round pick or something at the least. We drafted him when probably no one else would of. He could of at least did that. I don’t think he was ever mistreated here either.

@@JuicyCharon JB couldn't have known beforehand how the Knicks would be able to sign him. Considering all the hoops NY had to jump through, very few people thought that the Mavs would walk away with nothing.

At first I wasn't on board with him leaving Dallas, but since NY wanted him THAT much I don't think anyone could fault him for making the move. Best wishes for him.

Dude, working with my dad for a year was one of the best experiences ever. I feel Brunson on that level. When u got a solid relationship with your old man, it’s the best!

As a Mavs fan I hate that he will not be running with my favorite team anymore but as a Jalen fan I am happy for him, wish him the best in his career and love how he plays the game! The Mavs took a lot of heat for not signing him earlier but honestly it appears this was always Plan A (purely a guess and no disrespect)! Knicks got a special player!
We did it with J Kidd, Devin Harris, Seth Curry, possibly with Dennis Smith Jr and now JB...it's what the Mavs do with young guards
Losing Brunson was never plan A for the Mavs, up til the last week of the draft they were confident JB would resign.

@@fitOLDfart Oh ok, no yeah I think so too 100%. Besides the money, the Knicks was the best move that gives him the best opportunity for his career to really take off and I think that’s what he and his people wanted above everything else.

Seeing Jalen on the Knicks reminds me how old I am lol. The 98-99 team is what made me a fan of basketball. NBC would always mention Rick’s backstory when he got in and for some reason that always stuck with 8 yr old me.

Back in the day the mavs fleeced us in 92 for Rolando blackmen was 33 at the time for a first round pick n he totally was a waste then a year later Derek Harper Atleast he worked out some what we got to the finals with him as our starting pg so the history is deep then Tyson Chandler.

He is getting $26 M from NY, Dallas offered him $20 M. it seems like more, but 20 M in TX goes much further than 26 in NY. A million dollars in NY gets you an apartment, A million in Texas gets you an apartment complex.

I like Brunson he’s a good guy, was amazing in college. But boy did he get lucky
Time hardaway hurt they trade away porzingis and he has opportunity for bigger role more minutes and performs well in playoffs
He gained like $40-$50M extra from that 4 month stretch.
But I bet if Knicks knew they could get Mitchell a month ago they wouldn’t have gone after Brunson so hard in free agency

Brunson seems like a great dude and he’s a great player. As a Knicks fan, I would rather see what IQ can do. Either way I’d rather this than give up the farm for Donovan Mitchell. With Brunson RJ Mitchell Randel and big Mitch we have four out of five guys that need the ball. They’re all great players I just don’t know if it makes sense together.

As a Mavs fan I’m just upset he didn’t push NY to do a sign and trade even for nothing but to create a 12mil trade exception. The Knicks clearly tampered between his agent and his dad. They could have at least done the Mavs a favor in return.
Knicks should've drafted him in the 2nd round if they really believed in him from the start. Mavs were the only team that gave him a chance. Hope everything works out in NY tho.
