I Like this .45-70 Marlin, made in the 70s. For me, "the" hunting lever action rifle. It"s very rare here. But I got a original Marlin 1895, made ~1900 from my beloved dad. Rechambered and rebored to 45-70. It's one of the coolest rifles I own.
About Marlin I've got a semiautomatic .22LR mod.60 made in the USA. It's light and nice design made with wood, not polymer. It's a little jewel. This lever action in the video is very cool, the lever action is so Western era, amazing!
Nice. I've got a 1972 JM stamped 1895 sitting in my gun room. This just inspired me to take it out today. There goes at least $100 in ammo...lol. Totally worth it.
KEWL. nice gun. Nice video, till that last shot, with an open field beyond that orange and no burm to absorb the bullet. YA OWN THAT BULLET AND WHAT IT HITS..!
NGL, lever actions are more fun than bolt actions. Not sure if they're more fun to shoot than a Trapdoor Springfield (once you get into the groove of it). Also, this year marks the 150th year of use for 45-70.
Bold of you to execute that melon without offering it a blindfold and a cigarette, first. On a serious note, how has the 45-70 Govt. round survived for this long? There aren't a lot of guns left that can still fire it, but it hits like a freaking dump truck!
They still make modern day copies of this classic icon. Henry and now the recently reformed Marlin (owned by Ruger) are the 2 big names out there producing them. People use these in Bear Country and other parts of the world.
There's a good many "old" cartridges that people have "rediscovered " that are effective game cartridges. They weren't obsolete as much as they weren't fashionable any longer Other than the military Springfield way back when, there's probably more 45/70's in use today than ever has been
Great rifle the Marlins, had a .30-30 in a 336W with rotating bolt and micro-groove rifling. It was very accurate with Hornady lever revolution ammo (which I copied in my own hand loads)
They are, you just have to take into consideration the arch of the bullet path. If you watch the vapor trail closely, it goes up and comes down. A lot of people don't realize that and misinterpret this awesome cartridge. Does it have its limits? Yes, but is still very capable considering its age.

I love lever action rifles, Lincon's Repeater in Fallout 3 was one of the most fun I have ever had with one
I love lever action rifles, there’s just something so cool about them.
Yep, they’re just impractical
@@UncleSam1732how so?
For modern combat? Most definitely.
For sporting? Absolutely not.
Me too, since i was a little boy, i was always fascinated by cowboy stories.
@emillaularsen6255 You’re telling me you’re using a lever action for self defense? You’re trippin

Amazing, I have Martini Henry from 1876 - the most amazing rifles of his era.
The cows: "Cool gun, Misha.... What's it for tho....?"
The shit I’ve seen on the internet must of scarred me, because I get a little anxious every time you hold the gun in the same frame as the cows

Puedes usarla como el T800 de Terminator 2?
How much is the gun worth ?
What a beautiful gat.
I didn't think those cartridges were so accurate at long range, or is he just that good?

Any long gun can be decent as long as u practice with it and know the bullet's trajectory
Unfortunately the 45/70 suffers from the same
lack of knowledge as the
30/30. People that haven't
used one extensively just
write it off out of hand
