- Model reviewed: Norse Idun. Review can apply to the Bylgja and to Norse Kayaks in general regarding overall construction. Thinking of buying one? Why are they much cheaper? Watch this first.
In summary: Unique hull design, highly rockered and strongly chined.
A low-cost lower-strength construction.
Adequate fitting-out.
Nicely finished.
Handles beautifully.
But...
The Valley Anas Acuta must be THE original highly rockered hard chined boat, used to paddle one many years ago before I moved on to a Nordkapp. Now sold that but getting a new AA for next year🙂. (Currently paddling an Avocet.)
I have a P&H Virgo and its got hard chines and a high rocker, highly manoeuvrable but tracks well with the skeg down
just bought a used Blygja on Sunday, need to fix the stiff skeg but can't wait to get out in it.
You will love it. Enjoy!
Sir, I have a Bylgia. The skeg cannot be 100% retracted into the belly. Is that a problem?
