- You may be able to write a DAX expression, but what about an actual DAX query? DAX queries can help you validate data and fine tune your DAX expressions used for Power BI. Patrick shows you how!

Working with SLQ Syntax for so long, I've finding it hard to transition to DAX syntax, but these videos help immensely! Thank-you Patrick!
Structured Language of Queries…?
I can hardly wait to use this at work. Pasting the query with a parameter from the query builder as an .rdl file in the Power BI service will prove useful. Thanks Patrick!
Thanks Patrick! Once my head stopped spinning, I'll try this feature. My list of saved tutorials from you guys is growing every day~
This is amazing! Thank you Patrick!!
I like your style, than the rest. straight to the point. very fast. its like how I was taught in engineering school.
Thanks Patrick!!, WOW this was amazing tutorial. Please keep it up so that we can learn more from you..
this is very helpful and I will start looking at it tomorrow!! Thank you Patrick!
Thanks Patrick! This is a great tutorial for a great tool
Nicely edited! Great job.
Thank you!! Amazing!
God bless you GIAC! This was a life-saver today, thank you
Hey Patrik,
thank you very much, great video.
Sorry, one question: is there a way to transform queries also to power bi or direct into (the code) of a visual?
Thank you!!
Hi Patrick, like the query builder tutorial, is there any way to handle multiple rows parameters, f.i. (red, yellow, blue) using the query builder. Up to now I had to use a trick provided by Chris Webb to build a list of the parameters?
This is amazing, will help as I've been using the queries in Analyse with Excel
Nice! Yeah DAX Studio is a great tool!
Great video. Congrats
Very useful Thank you!
One must create such function for DAX Studio. For example -Free Excel table anywhere, you'll write any expression in Excel format then DAX Studio converts it into DAX code ;)))).
Omg game changer, thank you!!
Thanks
Golden, Patrick, Golden!
Is there a way to filter with an OR in the Filters? For example, if I want to filter Fiscal Year Name is FY21 or FY22? The default behavior seems to only allow Fiscal Year name Is FY21.
This is really cool. I hope DAX queries are not as simple as SQL. That's for sure. I hope in this case paginated reports uses the dataset that requires the Dax queries, can be built using query designer in the dataset . Correct me if I am wrong. Since I worked on SSRS I used that option
Saw the Query Builder on a Saturday morning GIAC livestream, and was in love with it from the start. So glad to learn more about it!
Awesome! Patrick was really excited about this feature in DAX Studio!
This is something very new that I came accross
Hi, I have a doubt in powerbi. When we create report, total value is randomly getting calculated at the bottom of the report. But when we export it into CSV or excel file, the total value is not getting added in csv or excel file. Can you help me how to resolve it.
I wished I had a Guy in a Cube for all other IT topics I deal with :)
so cool!
what if I wanted to make a parameter around a date range ? i haven't found anything on the internet successfully helping with setting up date range parameters in dax so that I can use them as parameters in a power bi report builder paginated report connected to a pbi dataset/semantic model
i have to create a maintenance page which changes the dashboard when the data is getting updated. It can reflect to all users and i can bring it down after work is done. How can i do it
Awesome🎉
Si hago una consulta en dax como la llevo hacia atras hacia power bi para graficarle ???
Nice to see the @ parameters!
YES!
This is Very helpful
Awesome to hear! Thanks for watching 👊
May I have you internet sales dataset for clearing my queries about some of dax functions.
Please confirm
Dax Studio? My best query builder :-)
can the parameter that you enter be a column? how would you enter that?
I want to calculate weekdays between two different dates with multiple condition like,
For. Approverd different start and different end Date
For hold different start and end date..
All are in same table.
I need help.
Thanks Patrick - what video are you referring to at 2:20? I would like to follow up on that.
I think maybe it was this one: czcams.com/video/3vcKgN8HxjY/video.html - “Power BI Case: Too many rows from a DAX Statement”
@@QuantumDot2 Thanks Andy
How to add multiple starts with filter ???
wow Report Builder is still alive.
You are better
thanks Patrick and Darren!
Quite confusing video. You are too quick sometimes also you move the frames before showing what you clicked
Too far over my head... sorry.
