  • You may be able to write a DAX expression, but what about an actual DAX query? DAX queries can help you validate data and fine tune your DAX expressions used for Power BI. Patrick shows you how!

Working with SLQ Syntax for so long, I've finding it hard to transition to DAX syntax, but these videos help immensely! Thank-you Patrick!

I can hardly wait to use this at work. Pasting the query with a parameter from the query builder as an .rdl file in the Power BI service will prove useful. Thanks Patrick!

    Hey Patrik,
thank you very much, great video.
Sorry, one question: is there a way to transform queries also to power bi or direct into (the code) of a visual?
    Thank you!!

Hi Patrick, like the query builder tutorial, is there any way to handle multiple rows parameters, f.i. (red, yellow, blue) using the query builder. Up to now I had to use a trick provided by Chris Webb to build a list of the parameters?

One must create such function for DAX Studio. For example -Free Excel table anywhere, you'll write any expression in Excel format then DAX Studio converts it into DAX code ;)))).

Is there a way to filter with an OR in the Filters? For example, if I want to filter Fiscal Year Name is FY21 or FY22? The default behavior seems to only allow Fiscal Year name Is FY21.

This is really cool. I hope DAX queries are not as simple as SQL. That's for sure. I hope in this case paginated reports uses the dataset that requires the Dax queries, can be built using query designer in the dataset . Correct me if I am wrong. Since I worked on SSRS I used that option

Hi, I have a doubt in powerbi. When we create report, total value is randomly getting calculated at the bottom of the report. But when we export it into CSV or excel file, the total value is not getting added in csv or excel file. Can you help me how to resolve it.
