    I'm a Stockport County fan with a genuine soft spot for Bradford and at the start of the season when everyone was predicting Bradford to do well I said they'd be mid table and Hughes would be gone by Christmas, they're a cracking club but they're a poor side I just don't see anyone in their squad that I'd take. They need a good young up and coming manager and they need to give him time even when it's going wrong, I think Peter Wild at Barrow would do a job there.

    Excellent presentation, Lee, I would very much like to see more of this kind of debate with fans nationwide, truly intriguing and highly informative. These interviews tell us more about the spirit and soul of dedicated fans and the toils and troubles that we all endure at some point. Nonetheless, my heart did bleed a wee bit, Bradford are a super club and have contributed so much to the British game, I am therefore deeply disappointed that they are embroiled in a difficult predicament at this time, May their 1-0 win against a valiant Accrington, be the start of their successful climb back to where they unquestionably belong.

    Bobby Pointon came through the Academy and there’s 3/4 other players ready to come through. These players are the answer for a city like ours, population over 500,000. We might not own the ground, training ground or have cash to splash, but we should be able to out develop other League 1 & 2 clubs as Bradford the place is big. We’ve got a bigger pool of players to choose from and given our precarious League position now is the time to trust in them.

    we want the owner to be a bit more present, we want decent communication and we want someone within the clubs infrastructure to have a bit of experience on the footballing side to help Sparks. if we've got a decent budget being self sustainable surely Rupp would put a little more in to see us push forward, if that's not possible due to FFP then get a decent recruitment set up because when we lost the play offs all we needed to do was replace three players with similar quality and between them all they ripped it all up started again and brought in a load off dead wood

    Great Vlog Lee thanks for that mate .Strange how people see it differently we have to remember Stefan Rupp was conned into buying the club by Edin Rahic who was a total lunatic, Stefan doesnt even like football so Ryan Sparks is left to run the club while Stefan stays in germany, However he has vowed to stand by the club until he can sell it and he will only sell it to someone he believes will be a good custodain we are not in the red we have a good budget .I do not blame the owners at all , I do think Hughes got far too long he sent players out on loan like Ryan East and Jake young (15 goals and 4 assissts in this division this season) that in his words did not fit into his plans and would not get 1st team football East was always solid in my opinion and Jake young was treat really badly by Hughes to the point where Hughes was publicly humiliating him in my opinion. The palyers now are having to get used to playing 442 something that never happened under Hughes lets be fair Hughes got the job because of his name , I am happy with Alexadra and think he will do a good job but we have to stick together the club is hardly attractive to a buyer , we dont have any assets thats why buyers go elsewhere. It is not the owners fault, but we have to stick together . This club means everything to me i have supported them home and away all my life and always will but throwing tenis balls or any other pathetic demo about owners these people need to be careful what they wish for. Onwards to Gloucestershire tomorrow night another two days holiday off work but worth it Up The Chickens keep up the good work and hope to bump into you at some point.

    There is no long term strategic plan and that comes from the owner and CEO. It's all short termism based on season sales. If we're not doing well coming towards February when our season ticket campaign is about to go out, then we'll sack our manager so the fans will buy season tickets for the following season. Notts Co, Wrexham, Gillingham, Stockport have all got a long term plan and a set up to take them forward. I'm not sure we've even got a sports science set up anymore.

      @chrissmith3215 Před 7 měsíci +2

      The lack of a long term plan for the club is my biggest issue. We need a road map of where this club wants to go and how we go about it. There should be a clearly defined plan which is communicated to us fans. Recent managerial appointments have failed due to a long term strategy. We got the dour Derek Adams in because of his success at Morecambe and it quickly became apparent he and his football were not a good fit. We then lurch in the other direction with Mark Hughes but his football wasn't to our taste. It seems we lurch from one side of the football spectrum to the other because we don't have a plan about what is the 'Bradford City way' and finding the right manager and players to make that plan work. Too much is placed in the remit of the current manager and when that doesn't work we rip it up and start again. Only to carry on the same depressing cycle.

    6:00 As usual all the fans fault. Same old story. And if a CEO can’t think for himself that’s a problem in its self. And shows a real problem with leadership. But the answer is always to blame the fans.
    As for the fans have leaked his number etc. We have a big fan base and we don’t know if it was a fan or an associate of Ryan or whether it was already available. He likes to use this over and over again to paint our fans in a negative light though, when in fact the vast majority of fans condemned what happened based on what Sparks told the press and didn’t question it. Besides we are starting to find out that we cannot really trust the word of Ryan Sparks, so we don’t even know whether Sparks just didn’t like minor criticism or a few fans did cross a line. But either way this is being used by Liam to constantly smear fans who do want Sparks & Rupp out and is massively unfair on the overwhelming majority of fans of Bradford City.
    Every opportunity he gets he wants to blame Bradford City supporters and tarnish them as a toxic fan base. And he’s Billy Bantam, you just can’t make it up.

      With anyone if true about messages to his family and what no it’s stupid I no the owner of my club Sheffield Wednesday his family have been targeted and as much as I will admit he’s doing terrible for the club no one should get that abuse. Criticism for the job he’s done is justified but owt away from Bradford isn’t. Maybe sparks just needs to support from someone I’m not sure.

      @BantamsOnline Před 7 měsíci +1

      @@aroundthegrounds1 Like you said about Sheff Weds. Unfortunately when dealing with so many people, there are those who take it too far and it is totally unacceptable. But that often just one or two people (even if it’s more) is never a reflection of even close to a majority of fans of any club. Most are decent people and find that sort of thing totally unacceptable. Just like how it works with people in general, not just fans. And it is wrong for people to use things like that to give try to paint a whole group of people in a negative light.
      The overwhelming majority of voices are critical of the job Sparks is doing and the job Rupp isn’t doing. There’s always going to be one or two people who make personal remarks (but it’s worth again pointing out that Liam himself is bad for regularly getting personal and throwing out insults).
      RE Sparks needing help. If he was honest with himself he probably does. But there’s a lot to point to him being unwilling to or unable to recognise that which is problematic its self.

    What is wrong with Bradford City?
    1 - *Poor recruitment* - When we have solid defenders, we have poor attackers, and when we have poor defenders, we have quality attackers. Also the only times in the last 15 years that we've had quality wingers, they were the seasons where we were successful. Most of the time, we don't actually have any wingers in the squad at all. Therefore we have defenders, central midfielders or strikers playing as wingers instead.
    2 - *Stubborn managers* - Various formations have worked for us over the years. It all depends on whether the players can play in those formations or not. However when their favourite formation isn't working, our managers like Adams and Hughes constantly refused to change. On the rare occasions they have changed the formation, we usually ended up winning, before reverting back to the losing formation for the next game. Most of them are usually defensive managers too, who refuse to attack, like to play with just 1 striker, and hope we can nick a single goal win.
    3 - *Managers who refuse to play our youths* - Our youth teams over the last 15 years have won loads of stuff. Yet they rarely get a chance in the first team. We give maybe 3-5 youths professional contracts every year, yet out of the maximum of those 5 youths, only 1 of them will get a chance to play, and it will usually be in the last 5-10 minutes of game. That 1 youth will maybe play a total of 270 minutes a season at most. On the rare occasions we've had one of our youths being picked to play regularly like *Bobby Pointon* this season, they usually end up being one of the best players on the pitch, so why don't we play our youths more often? If they're not good enough then fair enough, but at least give them a chance, especially the strikers. We've had some others youths in the squad this season once or twice, however none of those are the striker *Dylan Youmbi* who scored 20+ goals last season, to help our youths win their league, so why is he not in the squad?
    4 - *Chairmen/Owners/Board Members giving away our best youths for free or pennies* - I mentioned that we give roughly 3-5 of our youths professional contracts every year. I mentioned that there's usually only 1 of the maximum of 5 who gets given a chance. And then they get released after a couple of years of doing nothing. Therefore a waste of money. However what I didn't mention is that the ones who get given professional contracts, don't seem to be our best youths, as our best youths get signed by clubs higher up the leagues. For example, this year *Brighton and Hove Albion* signed 16yo *Sahil Bashir* from us for 6-figures, which is usual for us and is pennies imo. We should be asking for more, especially from a Premier League club. They always seem happy with small percentage sell-on clauses, usually around 10%. Whereas others we've released because they "weren't good enough" for League Two Bradford City, yet are somehow good enough for clubs in the Championship.
    5 - *Players* - Specifically players who play excellent for other teams, then they come to us and play poor, and finally they leave and become that excellent player again. Is it is the expectation from a bigger fanbase? Is it the managers poor training and tactics? Who know why players collapse when they sign for us. *Jake Young* at *Swindon Town* is sort of in that bracket, but not really, as he barely had a chance here. However there was a rumour that they reason he was sent out on loan, shortly after us giving him a 3 year contract, is because he spoke up for *Kian Harratt* (who we had on loan from Huddersfield), who was sent back to Huddersfield when we was fined for hare coursing. If it's true then I don't blame him, as I couldn't care less what happens off-field, as long as they're performing on the pitch, but again *Kian Harratt* barely got a chance, and on the rare occasions we did, he looked a good player.

      @bertiemagoo8842 I agree with you the quality of the squad is not as good as many of the top placed teams in league 2 hence my comment its over inflated and quantity has to be culled for quality incomings...Don't forget we have the call back option on Jake Young currently on loan with Swindon and with 15 goals so far it's odds on he will return as he only left because of a fall out with previous manager Mark Hughes...Also there's Ryan East currently on loan at Rochdale to return as well if we invoke our call back option...personally these 2 should never have been allowed to leave and will up the quality when they return...Young is contracted to us until end of next season as well so we will be under no pressure to sell him either...He will add goals to our attack which have under performed this season plus Vadaine Oliver is back now as well so we will then have 4 strikers which gives us more options obviously...With GA already stating there will departures come Jan I'm confident with a good few moved on he will attract some better quality players in as he's been around league 1 and league 2 alot more than MH ever was as he had never managed outside the PL until he took over at VP!!!...Don't forget as well when Alex Pattison is fit again we will have one of the best goal scoring midfielders in the division back as well so quality will be going up all the time...Up until Jan GA needs to extract as much as he can out of this squad and then with some player movement in both directions kick on then from Jan onwards...If we are around or in the play off places come Jan we will have a solid base then to kick on with quality returning players and better quality incomings...As bad a season as we've had so far we are 14th and only 6pts from 7th place which is the last play off place where Accrington currently are so hopefully if we can win tomorrow night v FGR and and a few lose or draw above us we can move up another few places...🤞🏻🤞🏻🐔🐓 UPTFC 🐔🐓⚽️😍 In GA we trust 🐓🐔 CTID 🐔🐓😍
