- Here's a very rare platter from Baltimore's legendary Kings, aka Bobby Hall and The Kings. I heard this in 2004 when I was living in Baltimore and I remember calling the DJ and asking him to play the record again, which he did.

I wish this style of music would return, when ladies were ladies and men were gentleman,my one wish in would be 1957 forever
GARY LANDRUM I believe that thought derives from movies. Men were always men. Drinking at bars, marines, army, navy men always chasing women. Even civilian men lived double lives. One lie during the day another at night. Women weren't always ladies. Prostitution has existed in the us since the beginning. Little Richard jerry Lee Lewis and Johnny cash were having orgies with all kinds of women. Women who acted like ladies during the day and something else at night. That thought that many people believed people in America were polite to each other almost a century ago is make believe. How do you think divorces rose so high during the 60s and 70s and so on. It was just seen on leave it to beaver and Lucy. People tried it, but that's not how life in America really was.
@@Mrpachuko13 1957 sounds like a really comfortable place to be right now vs. the horrible political world of 2018. I agree with Gary.
Gary, I agree with you completely!!!
Frank I agree with you 🙌🏽
200% agree with Gary!
1956 when i was 14 i listened to each song on the late night AMradio
Now at 80 i still listen here .. Thank you
Good music never dies my friend.

💥America's Best Decade!!
"I'm so thankful to have grown up in the '50's. Graduated 1960. The memories of friendships during those years are priceless. So sad that today's youth have to suffer through these current times." 😎 (2020)
🥰 Yes....Agree. Graduated 1965...We had the absolute Best music. The Best years of my life. 💖 50s and 60s✌️ Wonderful era that will remain in my heart forever. 💖 Love and Peace to All always...✌️
Graduated in 62. This music means everything to me. It's in my soul.
Also graduated 1960.

Graduated in 1965. The 50's & 60's were a blast!!!!!
Two words -- absolute perfection !!! We need to establish a nation -wide movement to get these remarkable songs back on the radio. Who knows. If enough people listen to Doo Wop , we might all become happier and kinder ! 😊
WHEN YOU HEAR THIS MUSIC YOU WANT TO BE WITH THE ONE YOU LOVE HOLDING HER CLOSE TO YOU.❤

When I hear this, I say: "I heard this on the Larry Elder show today". 😊

CAN I CRY NOW. STILL LOVE HER 60 YEARS LATER.
60 years ago I lost my love still cry when i hear this song
My parents group up in the 50's in New York. My father was in Brooklyn and my mother in East Harlem. My mother said how you heard guys singing on the corner under the apartments. The Mob was hanging out on the corner. People were outside and hanging out, not making trouble. Different times.
Sure is different times.
It was the summer of 59 and there she was Masa my beautiful creature she was 17 her name is Jacki Di Maria I was only 15 it was a block party we climbed up to this tree house overlooking the block party hand she taught me how to kiss. And several hours later all the neighbors were watching us under the tree sitting in their lawn chairs in disbelief maybe it was all and the song kept playing over and over and then it was morning and she was gone and I never saw her again. Every time I hear song I am haunted by her 60 years later

When someone asks, I always tell them I love doo wop because it's one of the few music genres I still understand.
Best music. When America was normal.
I imagined i was dancing with the girl i loved for many years.and were chuckling, talking while slowly and lovingly dancing. while the ponograph played this song.
Great ballad from April,1959! Pretty darn rare these days!
This was the time when ladies were real ladies and the gentlemen were also real. Not like today.. They do not make music like this any more.. What we lost, will never come back!!! Stay safe from Alberta Canada..
YOU SAID IT MY FRIEND From Pittsburgh Pa.
Song really takes you back in time. Wonderful time to grow up.... Keep On Keeping On....
I wasn't born until 1958 but I truly belong to this wonderful time.

Truly amazing how many doo wop groups existed in about 10 tens of great music, some not in stereo, before concert tours and wide tv shows.
What beautifull song, remember when I am a child!!!

great song feel good song when i younger this were right on
Every year there is the largest 1950's theme event at Parsippany NJ over the Labor day weekend. It's called Lead East and this Kings side is a Real Lead East record for Custom Car/Hot Rod cruising. Amazing perfect example of what doo-wop should be....
Typical doowop. Typically superior to anything musical that's been made in many years. Romantic, danceable, harmonious, just typical doowop and beautiful.
Absolutely... 💖💖🥰💖💖
@@katherinegates1559 Agreed! Very nice tune!

Simply magical - love it
This is an absolute gem from the city i was born and raised in.
I was Born in the Decade/of this music. But it’s ingrained in my soul and spirit. At one time 25 years ago I had several thousand Doo Wop singles. Sold most off but still have few boxes I kept. Love your collection- some scarce treasures
Soy de Centro América y adoro este tipo de música, es la mejor de la historia.
My cousin Paul Parker made this song I love this song
Nothing better than sweet love!
I love reading these comments regardless that some of them are not new. Life has always been varied from millions of years ago. But we can all agree that music touches the heart brings you to a place of peace, love and easier and idealic times. That could be the reason we are all on you tube searching for this good stuff. It's better than medicine or therapy, you can understand the words , they are actually singing, and they sound pretty good.
you are so right, w/ virus & lockdown, i'm on you tube all day & find these treasures of our youthful days when music was sacred, romantic, & loving to our heart & soul. thanks PJ..
It was like that in philly also.
I sang on the corner for YEARS
Deep and awesome sound. Never we will have this sound . Today’s “music” yuk!
Took me between 4 and 5 years to finally get a copy of this record.
Why was it that these amazing doo wops never really sold in great numbers.
WOW!!
WHAT A SONG!
VERY NICE , YES INDEED

Oldies and doo wop untill the end up time.
That's good enough for me, any day. That's something I can really sing along to.
Very sweet romantic melody.
Beautiful song. Love it.
We learned that in heaven there is only happyness and joy if i ever go to heaven apart meeting my parents and love ones there be this kind of music
This brings back memories of hanging out at Houston Park in El Paso in 1956
WOW , I love this song, the tune plays over and over in my head. Soo Sweet.
Listening to great oldies during the pandemic. 12/16/2020
So much beautiful music put in the hands of payola DJs
Now THIS IS song writing and Melody making real music talent. ALL THE WAY ROUND ⚡✍️☀️💟⚡
Please Don't ever delete this 😍
Great group. Bobby Hall was the lead on all the early 50s King' tunes. Adolphus Holcomb was the lead on this one as well as all from the mid 50s on. The early tunes with BH on lead sound so much different.
Why didn't you send me this one bro?
Me encanta recordar bellos momentos. Toda está musica es totalmente romántica.❤
